So I redesigned my blog

My blog was too hard to read, and now I just picked this random picture of a chair and some pics in a cement room? I don't know, it just looked cooler. I still haven't figured out how to use all of this blog/twitter/social media stuff, but I was messing around on twitter today and actually found a literary agent for a book submission, and I found this link to an awesome article (but it's too crude to post here- ah, what the heck) http://www.theawl.com/2011/08/mr-swif...
I am actually starting on a new book- a stand alone novel; it's too early to write much about it yet, but I've been writing voraciously, so expect it to be finished soon- all these ideas are going nuts in my head! all in good time, all in good time. Try not to get too excited :)

Dang I suck at blogging

I know, I know, everyone sucks at blogging, unless you're addicted to it, but I just opened my tanning salon, so I'll have plenty of time to blog and twitter and facebook... yay. haha

so I've started writing the sequel to The Cephas Bourdon Series. If you have any input, you should post it, or email it to amberm.hooper@gmail.com. by the way, have any of you ever googled yourself? We were screwing around on the internet the other day, and I am apparently an artist, I go to graduate school, and I sing really well... so it was a good way for me to become self-actualized without doing anything at all. Try it- it's very gratifying :)

So I outlined the majority of the sequel, and I've written most of the first chapter. I always read writers' blogs about how they felt so connected to their characters, as if they were real people. I never felt like that- until now. I don't know if that makes me a terrible writer (plus I just used the word terrible, which my jr. high english teacher strictly forbid- oh, and I didn't capitalize English- I'm hopeless!), but I finally feel like my characters are alive! I'm so excited! Now I know how Emmaline feels when Cephas smirks at her, be it utter annoyance or throat-catching want. I feel kind of exposed, somehow, as I write on this blog, but then I remember that I published a book with feelings and secrets I would probably never reveal anywhere else. Such is life.

Until next time,

A. M. Hooper

Revised Book

Hi Everyone!
So I have finally finished revising my book! The ebook is already up, I believe, and the paperback copy will be up in a couple of days. As it happened, a publisher rejected my book, saying the characters weren't engaging enough, so I got all sorts of ticked off and revised the book. Now if the character is overly emotional, you know why! haha Thanks for following!

Writing, Writing, Writing!

Well hello!
So book sales are slowly moving up, and I just found out the paperback version isn't listed correctly on Amazon, but DON'T WORRY! It's still available on createspace (see link below) or as an ebook on amazon. I also uploaded a version for the nook on pubit.com (barnes & noble). So if you have a preference, it's all available. (except you can always just download the kindle app for use on any device, so I'm told).   I've also started working on the sequel, so that's exciting. :) It's mostly outlined. I'm not really a blogger, so I am pretty sure this post is unavoidably lame, but if you'd like to comment on that supposition, feel free! Until next time,

Amber

My Book Is Up!

Hey everyone! My book is finally up for sale on Amazon (in both hard copy and ebook format). I'll post a link as soon as I can so that you can find my book directly through this blog. For now, just go to Amazon.com or kdp.amazon.com to find my book entitled "A Penny's Worth: The Cephas Bourdon Series." Here's the description to wet your taste buds!

Choices. All stupid choices! And Emmaline wasn't responsible for any of them! It was all Cephas Bourdon's fault: so brilliant, so alluring, so frustratingly handsome. Emmaline didn't stand a chance against his romantic tactics, for such were his enticing gestures. Tactics. Cephas Bourdon was a trained professional... in what, Emmaline couldn't be sure, but he did speak fluent French, and he had easily pummeled her controlling, yet capable, boyfriend. It's not long before Emmaline discovers that Cephas Bourdon is capable of much more than elegant dancing and flawless romance, and she eventually has no choice but to join her fearless captor on a daring adventure involving untraceable money transfers, high-speed chases, and a battle to the death. But will Emmaline choose, of her own volition, to put aside her childish emotions and learn to trust the man who willfully deceived her? Should she? A series of perilous mishaps, humorous moments, and passionate exchanges weave together this epic tale of deceit, love, and the power to discern between the two that keeps Emma and the reader guessing until the very end.
