For twenty-one years, the focus of Katherine Dale’s life has been her work. Love interests and hobbies came and went, but what has always been there for her—her only constant other than her cat delightfully named No. 4—was her nine to five habit. Until she’s replaced.
With her confidence dented, Katherine is angry at life and at herself.
She’s ignored hints of “changes to come” in her horoscope forecasts, written by the wonderful and renowned astrologer, Mark Ainsley-Thomas.
Mark is now an “A” list celebrity in the UK and his new Agent is determined to raise his profile in America, so he has to take on the new, but talented, astrologer James Kingman to help him run his web-site.
Katherine lives her life according to her daily horoscope. When Katherine finds James has been writing her daily horoscopes rather than Mark, Katherine’s life explodes in confusion and, unexpectedly, love as the three lives become inextricably tangled. Insecurity, self-doubt, guilt, stress, and frustration, coupled with village gossips and merciless reporters wanting eye-catching headlines leave Katherine feeling vulnerable and in need of guidance.
Now Katherine has to learn that the stars might be telling her that love is going to feature in her life, but when Katherine finds herself implicated in the headlines ‘Mystic Love Triangle Surprise’ she’s just as surprised as everyone else! None of the men in her life are love interests – so what exactly does fate have in store?
Excerpt:
My life is falling apart. I knew it, Mark isn’t writing the forecasts and a guy named James has now admitted this to me. I don’t have a problem with that at all, but what I need at this particular moment in time is Mark’s insightful guidance. He seems to be able to tap into the very essence of my life and give simple, yet incredibly relevant, clues. James, on the other hand, is probably catering for the masses; hence, I’m finding I can’t relate to anything he says. It took me all day yesterday emailing James, whom I assumed was Mark, to get to the bottom of the problem. Today is Wednesday and the talk is on Friday evening. Everyone in town is buzzing about it and this could be major humiliation. What should I do?
I finally emailed James, asking very politely for Mark’s personal contact details. He came back with a standard, “Mark unfortunately isn’t available to…” I didn’t panic, just took a deep breath and turned to the internet. I found an interesting article about Mark and learned that he gives personal readings. Yes. Thankfully, the email address is different to the one on the Website. I dashed off a few words, asking whether he was available, and what I needed to do. That was four-thirty yesterday and I haven’t had a response yet.
I was up at six this morning and have been frantically checking my emails virtually every ten minutes. It’s now eleven thirty and the strain is beginning to tell. I can’t write, can’t eat, and can’t think straight. If Friday night is going to be a flop, then I need advance warning so that I can cancel. I’m having problems thinking of an excuse that doesn’t sound lame. If I say I’m unwell, it probably means leaving it to the last minute and then I’ll be scrutinized and will have to hide for a week. If I say something like “I’m too busy” or even tell the truth, that I’m really just a novice myself, the locals will probably think I’m not taking them seriously. In my defense, I never said to Tom I was a writer, I just said I was writing a novel. The problem is that Tom seems to be basking in some sort of local glory for being in the know and, I hear, regularly having coffee with our famous local writer. This I found out when I was in the library the other day and overheard two women talking. Everything is getting out of hand and I don’t know what to do next.
No. 4 flounces into the room with a loud meow, walks around the kitchen table twice, and then just as quickly disappears. Even he can sense the tense atmosphere that hovers like a rain cloud in the room. Suddenly I spot a flashing icon on my screen and I dash over to the table and sit down. It’s from Mark, well his representative, the person who books his personal appointments.

Among the northern tribes there is a legend passed down from generation to generation about shape-shifting Minders—guardians of the innocents—and how they came to be.
It is said that nowadays only a handful of Minders exist, hunted to near extinction by a fearsome beast. Of the remaining Minders, only one wears a garnet-studded collar, the symbol of protection and royalty.
Even when my aunt told me the story, and handed me an ancient garnet-studded band, I had no idea the tale applied to me.
After all, it’s only a legend…
Excerpt
A movement along the edge of the cliff caught my attention. A small rabbit nibbled at a tuft of clover growing between the rocks. I came to attention like a pointer. My nose began to quiver and my mouth water. I twitched my butt.
Without thought, I bolted out of the house after the rabbit. My blood raced and I breathed in short sharp pants. I could hear the creature’s heart pound and smell his warm vibrant flesh.
He took three frightened leaps and disappeared into the forest. I skidded to a stop, trembling so hard my teeth rattled. What’s wrong with me? I wanted to take a bite out of a poor defenseless little bunny. I pursed my lips and screwed up my face. Gross doesn’t begin to cover it.
This is way past PMSing. Tears welled up and spilled down my cheeks.
I turn eighteen tomorrow. Surely, there’s no connection.
A sharp wind blew off the water. My eyes closed. I stood perfectly still, except for the shudders that racked my achy body as fear and revulsion washed over me like the loud pounding waves below.

“Holiday Affair” by Annie Seaton
Today I’m featuring Annie Seaton and her book Holiday Affair. She had been kind enough to offer up a giveaway today, so enter to win below.
BLURB
Nothing more than a holiday fling…until he moved in next door!
Staid professor Lissy McIntyre believes that choosing a mate should be based on common sense, not runaway passion. And Lissy would certainly never pick a rolling stone like Nick Richards for long-term love. But a red-hot, tropical romance? Oh, yeah. He’s got a body just made for sinning and his sizzling kisses leave her senseless.
When Nick blows into town, he’s stunned to discover that his no-nonsense new neighbor and co-worker is the same sultry creature he seduced for one night of forbidden island pleasure. He’s unaccustomed to staying in one place for long, but he just can’t seem to keep his hands off the multi-faceted Lissy. Will Nick break loyal Lissy’s heart or will she be the one woman he simply can’t walk away from?
EXCERPT
“Hi, Tom. Hi, Nicky. Hi, lucky ladies with Tom and Nicky,” a giggly champagne-fueled hiccough escaped her lips and Jenny dragged her into the rest room.
“Melissa!” exclaimed Jenny. “The professor is a hunk. Tell me all…you called him by his first name. Have you been out with him, or do you just know him from work?”
“Nuh, juss from work,” slurred Lissy. “He’s a nightmare to work with, very full of himself…not very nice at all.”
“What about Tom? Are you still seeing him?”
“Huh—” said Lissy “—thought he was different, but they are tarred with the same hairbrush.”
Jenny burst out laughing. “Oh, you are so funny with a few drinks under your belt. You mean brush, not hair brush!”
Lissy tried to be serious for a minute, and had to hang on tightly to the basin to keep her balance. She squinted into the mirror and saw that her curls were out of control.
“Woo…a bit giddy,” she said. “And I’m hungry.”
Jenny pulled a chair over and sat her down in front of the mirror. “Okay, let’s fix you up.” She stood behind Lissy and tried to tame her curls down with her hand. “Speaking of hairbrushes, did you bring yours, hon?”
Lissy fumbled in her bag and tipped it out onto the bench. The contents of the bag rolled around and fell over the edge, just as the two glamorous women who were with Tom and Nick entered the restroom. She dived to the floor to catch lipstick, brushes, keys, and coins as they hit the floor.
“Oh, hello,” she said giggling. “Your legs match the rest of you.”

“Racing to Love (Book One, Carter’s Treasure)” by Amy Gregory
I’m very happy to have Amy Gregory and her book Racing to Love. She’s also been kind enough to offer up a giveaway! So read about the book, then leave a comment to enter. The contest runs through June 25th.
About the Book
Length: 79,000 words
Genres: Contemporary Romance
Subgenres: Comedy, Drama
Blurb:
From the outside, Molly West had everything, beauty, brains, and a career she’d retired from not once, but twice. Being in the limelight and in a sport that was male driven, she was often surrounded men. She ignored first the boys, and as she got older, the men. Unfortunately, they were all the same, all after one thing, and she had absolutely no use for them. Her cold shoulder and patented not a chance in hell look were usually enough to get her point across. Occasionally, she had to resort to her sass—and her brother.
Molly had no plans in changing what was a perfectly good system. That is until she walked into the pits. When she stood toe-to-toe with the sex in jeans, she knew right then and there that the man her adoptive mother always told her was out there, was now standing right in front of her.
Carter Sterling had traveled the racing circuit since he was a boy. He’d heard all the old standbys, She’s out there somewhere, love comes along when you least expect it. Good things come to those that… Yeah, he’d heard them all. The last place he expected to meet the love of his life was on a pro track. All she did was smile, and he knew, looking into her sapphire blue eyes, Molly West was his. Forever.
If it was only that easy. From the moment he laid eyes on her, he had a gripping feeling in him. An overwhelming need to protect her. A girl he’d just met. Carter had learned a long time ago that gut feelings are almost never wrong.
Molly now held his heart in her hands, but it was going to take a lot more than just love to protect her from the past she thought she’d buried a long time ago.
Excerpt:
They continued to walk back toward the pits, but he stopped when they were in the darkened hallway, just before they would have rounded the corner and been seen.
Molly’s heart sped.
He was still holding her hand, but turned to face her as he placed his other hand on her waist. She sucked in a breath when he stepped forward. Her first instinct was to be anxious, to cower back, but something in those ice blue eyes told her she didn’t have to be afraid.
When he had leaned in to kiss her when they were sitting on the track, she’d panicked. And then when he had started to move away, she’d panicked again—for a different reason entirely.
Those flip-flopping emotions were about to drive her crazy.
Now, in the dimmed corridor, Molly closed her eyes to catch her breath and to search for a decision. He’d been rubbing his thumb on her waist, but his movements stopped when her eyes dropped closed. The soothing strokes didn’t continue until she finally reopened her eyes and dragged her attention up his chest and past his Adam’s apple. She continued up until she locked her gaze with his. When she offered him a hesitant smile, he began stroking her again with a warm smile on his lips.
Staring down at her, he let go of her hand and skimmed the back of his over her cheek. She felt her heart thundering, her pulse racing when she ran her hands up his chest, feeling each and every rippled muscle. She’d never purposely touched a man like this before. Sure, she’d felt Brody’s muscles when she’d smacked him for one reason or another. Or when trying to push him off of her after he’d wrestled her to the ground being an ornery brother and all. But this? This was foreign.
Her eyes were back on her own fingers, taking everything in. She stopped at his heart and could feel it pounding hard beneath the soft cotton t-shirt.
“Just so you know…” he started in his slow, sexy voice.
She could tell he was waiting for eye contact again before continuing. “Yeah?” she whispered.
“I’m going to fall in love with you.”

“Believe in Me (1NS Series)” by Rebecca Royce
Today I’m really happy to welcome back Rebecca Royce and her new book Believe in Me. She has also been kind enough to offer up a free copy! Read about the book, and then enter below.
Genre(s): Contemporary Erotic Paranormal Romance
Available at:
Blurb:
Jack Johnson, Werewolf enforcer of the Delta pack, has not found his mate. He craves a human female who can settle his soul. But is there a non-shifter in the world who could accept that Werewolves even exist let alone love one? He signs up for a 1-Night Stand hoping to find the one.
Gloria has been through hell. On the run with her young daughter, seeking an escape from her deranged ex-husband, she has no expectations of love. Just one night to do something for herself, one night to forget her troubles. She has no time for fantasy—until Jack walks into her life.
Excerpt:
He studied her silently with huge brown eyes then finally he took a deep breath. A brief, satisfied smile crossed his lips. “I knew it.”
She let out the breath she’d been holding, feeling too much like the schoolgirl she had been, with no confidence and not at all like the woman she’d sworn to her daughter she’d find a way to become. “You knew what?”
He walked toward her, extending his hand. She placed hers in his strong grip, expecting a shake. Instead, he lifted their joined fingers to his mouth and placed a small, gentle kiss on top of it. “I knew tonight would be really special.” He smiled again and her knees wobbled. Only her nerves kept her upright. “I’m Jack Johnson.”
“Like the singer.” Oh damn. Why did I have to say that? He probably hears that all the time and now he thinks I’m a walking cliché.
He raised a dark eyebrow. “I’m sorry. I’m not familiar with such a person. I’ll do an Internet search.”
He pulled his phone out of his pocket and she realized he intended to search for the folk singer she’d mentioned. The last thing she’d meant to do was take his attention from her and onto a singer whose music she enjoyed but not enough to take time out of her one night away from her life to discuss.
She placed her hand over his phone. “I’m sorry I mentioned it. You don’t have to take the time to learn about him right now. He makes good music, but it’s not important to me that you know him or anything.”
He smiled, his eyes alight with amusement. “Okay. I don’t really follow current trends. I guess you could say that where I live gives me the ability to miss out on a lot of the current stuff out there.”
That sounded interesting. She’d like to find somewhere like that, assuming it wasn’t a cult. A remote location might actually keep Jacob from finding Katie and her. She bit her bottom lip. Searching for such a spot had led her to Alaska in the first place. Nowhere would ever be secure enough.
“No TV or internet near where you live?”
He joined their fingers. “Of course there is some. I guess you could just say that I’m a bit of an outdoorsman and I prefer spending time in the woods than on the computer.”
“That’s really nice.”
As a teenager, Rebecca Royce would hide in her room to read her favorite romance novels when she was supposed to be doing her homework. She hopes, these days, that her parents think it was well worth it.
Rebecca is the mother of three adorable boys and is fortunate to be married to her best friend. They live in northern New Jersey and try not to freeze too badly during the winter months.
She’s in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and tries to use all of these elements in her writing. She’s been told she’s a little bloodthirsty so she hopes that when you read her work you’ll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. Rebecca loves to write series because she loves to see characters develop over time and it always makes her happy to see her favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.
In Rebecca Royce’s world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.

CBLS: “Deep Blue (Cursed Love, Book 1)” by Becca Simone
Today I’m happy to have Becca Simone here to talk about her book Deep Blue. Becca has also written a little bit about the book, a twist on the Beauty and the Beast Myth.
Welcome, Becca!
***
DEEP BLUE, my recently released erotica novella, is an erotic and paranormal twist to the classic Beauty and the Beast story. In my story, the hero is cursed to live under the sea as a half man, half sea monster, unless he can find his true love. He has 100 years to find her, or he’ll live the rest of his life in the deep blue. Alone. When the story opens, he has just three days left, so he’s a bit desperate.
When you think Beauty and the Beast, you think of the Disney movie, don’t you? No, it’s not a trick question. That’s what I think of, too. But the beauty and the beast story dates back to mythology in the second century.
The story version we’re all familiar with now was published in 1740 by Madame Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Gallon de Villeneuve. It’s said that the story was told in French and Italian salons to instruct marrying-age girls that they should treat their husbands well and see past his looks and beast-like qualities. If they did that, they’d find out they actually did end up with a prince among men.
So basically what they were telling these girls, “Your husband is an ass, and an ugly one at that, but if you treat him like a prince, maybe he’ll become one.”
Yeah. That’d go over well this day and age, wouldn’t it?
Some notable Beauty and the Beast stories over the years are The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Phantom of the Opera, and King Kong.
For the life of me, I can’t think of any more current examples. What about you? Can you think of any?
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Blurb:
Under the light of a full moon and lurking in the restless waves of the deep blue sea, someone or something watches a ship cutting through the dark waters.
Insurance fraud investigator Kate Hargrove is looking into the disappearances of women from a cruise line. She soon “disappears” herself when pulled undersea by a giant sea creature. Now, this beauty is trapped beneath the sea with a desperate beast.
100 years ago, Thaddeus Ryker was cursed and banished to the ocean depths. He has only three more days to find someone to love him in his monstrous half man/half sea creature state or he’ll spend eternity as a monster of the sea.
When her terror subsides, Kate realizes she’s both attracted to and repulsed by Thaddeus. As she gets to know him, she discovers a sexy, haunted man. Can she learn to love him – a monster – in just three days?
EXCERPT
“Then shut up and kiss me, Thaddeus,” she muttered.
He lifted his head. “You modern women are so demanding,” he said, before clamping his mouth onto hers. This time, he was the one in control, his tongue demanding and thorough. “Heaven on earth, you taste amazing,” he said, coming up for air.
“And this isn’t my tastiest body part,” she whispered, feeling incredibly wanton and frisky, so unlike how she usually was with men. This whole situation was so surreal.
His chuckle vibrated behind her ear. “What is your tastiest part?”
She giggled and dropped her head back, allowing him better access to the sensitive skin of her neck. “You’ll know when you find it.” God, this was fun.
His tongue dipped into the shell of her ear. He blew on her softly. “Mmm, you taste pretty good right here,” he murmured. He bent her backward over his strong forearms, and kissed a path down to her breasts. He met her eyes, grinned, and then his mouth closed over a nipple, drawing it into his hot mouth. Every suck pulled deep in her pussy. If she didn’t know better, she’d think he was kissing her clit at the same time as the pleasure radiated between her legs.
“You’re doing that mind thing again, aren’t you?” she asked, her voice breathless.
“I’m sorry, my love. I have been too long without a woman and I’m afraid I can’t keep my lusty thoughts from the sweet spot between your legs.”
That sweet spot ached and she squirmed against the rock. “No apologies necessary,” she gasped.

BW: Blood Guilt by Marie Treanor
Today I’m very happy to have Marie Treanor here to talk about her book, Blood Guilt. Marie was kind enough to answer some questions, so let’s get to the interview and then hear about the book.
Is this book part of a series? If so, can you give a general description of the series?
Yes, it’s the first of a vampire romance series called Blood Hunters, which follows on from my earlier Awakened by Blood trilogy. Awakened by Blood (Blood on Silk, Blood Sin and Blood Eternal) followed the story of Elizabeth Silk, a Scottish academic who accidentally awakens Saloman, the most powerful vampire of all time and falls in love with him while they try to kill each other. Blood Hunters focuses on Elizabeth’s friends and mentors, the vampire hunters, as they struggle to adjust to Saloman’s regime of alliance without allowing him the world domination he’s after. And they also discover unlikely romance with their former enemies. Blood Guilt focuses on the unhappy Mihaela, and her unwanted obsession with the mysterious vampire Maximilian…
Do your characters talk to you? If so, what do they say?
Yes, they do, and they say what they like! Which can be annoying when it would really be more convenient if they’d say what I’d like!
What do you think makes a good romantic hero?
For me, at least a hint of danger combined with a hard to discover hint of vulnerability. I like him to be intelligent, strong and protective but not without flaws. And I do appreciate a sense of sense of humor
Which character of this book was the easiest to write?
Mihaela, my heroine, probably. She grew on me all through the Awakened by Blood books, from a slightly wooly if strong woman into a full, very real character with all her anxieties, tragedies and individualistic traits. By Blood Guilt, I felt I knew her very well.
Plotter or panster?
Ah, well, I started out as a pantster and I do still have pantster tendencies. However writing the Awakened by Blood books for NAL – and in particular selling them on the strength of proposals – taught me the value of proper plotting. So now I work with a slightly chaotic mixture. I suppose I’m a plontster.
What do you think about the self-pub industry?
I think on the whole it’s a wonderful and exciting movement. For an author it gives unprecedented control over content, pricing and the whole business. For readers it gives far greater choice. If there’s a downside, I suppose it is that the choice is too massive, and perhaps it makes it too easy for some books to be published which aren’t quite ready. For me as an author with my first self-published book, the downside so far is paying up front for things my publishers took care of before: editing, cover art, ISBNs etc But I think on the whole, the good outweighs the difficulties and I’m very excited to be part of it!
The Fun Stuff:
Day or Night? Why?
Night. Because of the vampires, of course.
Favorite Movie?
Bram Stoker’s Dracula. No, The Princess Bride! Or Harvey. Or Dark City! Or….
Last book you read or the book you are reading now?
Fifty Shaded Darker
About Blood Guilt
The first of a new vampire romance series, a sequel to the Awakened by Blood trilogy.
Natural enemies, deadly attraction…
Mihaela, a fearless vampire hunter secretly haunted by loneliness and childhood tragedy, finds it difficult to adjust to the new world order where vampires are not always the bad guys. She’s taking a much needed vacation in Scotland when she sees a little boy being chased through the streets of Edinburgh. Rescuing him brings bigger problems – two vampires from her past: Gavril, who killed her family; and the reclusive and troubled Maximilian, gifted Renaissance artist and one-time overlord of the most powerful undead community in the world. Maximilian once saved her life and now needs that favor returned.
The earth moves for Mihaela in more ways than one. From Scotland to Budapest and Malta, she races against time to prevent a disastrous, vampire-induced earthquake and save an innocent yet powerful child – all while fighting a dreadful attraction to Maximilian, her only ally, whom she can’t afford to trust. For Maximilian, the hunter becomes a symbol of renewed existence, as he struggles to accept his past and rediscovers his appetite for blood and sex – and maybe even happiness.
