FACING THE MOUNTAIN

I'm excited to announce the upcoming publication of my new book--FACING THE MOUNTAIN. The book traces the lives of four young men as they and their families live through the unique challenges that World War II posed for Americans of Japanese descent. I hope that readers will come to care for and admire these young men--Fred, Rudy, Kats, and Gordon--as much as they have come to admire the young men whose stories I told in THE BOYS IN THE BOAT. I know that I, for one, have found their stories every bit as inspirational and moving. The book will be published in May, 2021, but can be per-ordered now at your favorite online or independent bookstore.
