Shauna Barbosa - Small Town & Terrifying

If I listen to the news tonight, I won’t come.
On mute the television anchor exchange sounds
like, Do you remember what you used to do.
Looks like, Do you remember what we did to you.
I think the lady anchor’s saying, I’m the only
taste you can describe without referring to notes,
my scent, the way home without roads. Man
anchor thinks she needs a new city dipped in holy
overcast, daily drama, and daily migraines
false remedied with vinegar, washcloth, cold water.
If I unmute, I could unfocus the idea...

This radio station was named Kowalski.

Primal Scream - Kowalski

This radio station was named Kowalski

In honour of the last American hero to whom

Speed means freedom of the soul

The question is not when he's gonna stop

But who is gonna stop him...

Kowalski, vanishing point, Kowalski, vanishing point

Kowalski, vanishing point, vanishing point

Vanishing point, vanishing point

Like a butterfly on a pin, like a butterfly on a pin

Soul on ice, soul on ice, soul on ice, soul on ice

There goes the Challenger

Being chased by the bl...

W.H. Auden - If I Could Tell You

Time will say nothing but I told you so

Time only knows the price we have to pay;

If I could tell you I would let you know.

If we should weep when clowns put on their show,

If we should stumble when musicians play,

Time will say nothing but I told you so.

There are no fortunes to be told, although,

Because I love you more than I can say,

If I could tell you I would let you know.

The winds must come from somewhere when they blow,

There must be reason why the leaves decay;

Time will say n...

Anne Sexton - Little Girl, My String Bean, My Lovely Woman

My daughter, at eleven

(almost twelve), is like a garden.

Oh, darling! Born in that sweet birthday suit

and having owned it and known it for so long,

now you must watch high noon enter -

noon, that ghost hour.

Oh, funny little girl – this one under a blueberry sky,

this one! How can I say that I've known

just what you know and just where you are?

It's not a strange place, this odd home

where your face sits in my hand

so full of distance,

so full of its immediate fever.

The summer has s...

Ryan Pfluger - Born and raised New York photographer with a MFA in Photo, Video & Related Media from the School of Visual Arts. Captivated by nostalgia, my work often deals with recreating memories, memorializing objects and how sexuality influences image making.  Exploring what portraiture means presently in our culture, my photographs deal with the subtlety of body posture, the gaze and the role of self-portraiture.  Most importantly, I allow my subjects to be present.

I'm...

Music for a while

The Dutch classical radio show 'De Klassieken' was invited by countertenor Andreas Scholl and his fiancé pianist Tamar Halperin at their home in Germany. They performed 'Music for a while' by Henry Purcell.

Music for a While is a song for voice and basso continuo by the English Baroque composer Henry Purcell. It is the second of four movements from his incidental music (Z 583) to Oedipus, a version of Sophocles' play by John Dryden and Nathaniel Lee, published in 1679. The song was composed...
