OUT OF CHARACTER by Diana Miller
Diana will be awarding a $50 Amazon/BN GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour
Stepping out of your comfort zone can be hazardous…
Denver, Colorado, ER doctor Jillian Rodgers has never done an impulsive thing in her life. But all that changes when she meets the man of her dreams on a ski vacation. Within twenty-four hours, they’ve spent a passionate night together and Jillian is convinced she’s halfway in love. After all, she figures the worst that can happen is she’ll go home with a broken heart…
But the man pretending to be an ordinary guy is far from it. In fact, he shouldn’t get
anywhere near Jillian. Yet there’s something about her he can’t resist—and she’s perfect for his cover. Besides, he’s sure he isn’t endangering her.
Unfortunately, they’re both wrong.
When someone uses their chairlift for target practice, Jillian ends up wounded—and her dream man promptly disappears. Within days, her car explodes. Just when things can’t get any worse, she’s kidnapped at gunpoint. Soon Jillian’s running for her life and forced to depend on the man who deserted her, a man who claims he’s trying to protect her but whose story has more holes than a gauze bandage. A man Jillian once thought she loved, but now isn’t sure she should even trust.

Excerpt:
The night was frigid and dark, the moon and stars obscured by clouds. Snow-caked pine needles scraped Jillian’s cheeks as Paul guided her through the trees. She wasn’t sure why he’d roused her in the middle of the night and led her out a basement window and into the woods, but she’d bet it wasn’t for a midnight hike.
“This way. Hurry.” He released her hand and pressed his palm against her back. Within seconds they were jogging, crunching over icy snow that seeped into Jillian’s running shoes and under her jeans, scratching and biting her bare legs above her socks.
Then she heard it. An explosion behind them. Followed by the odor of burning gasoline.
She froze as a wave of nausea engulfed her. “No.” She looked over her shoulder toward the sound and smell. Through the trees, she saw flickers of red, yellow, and orange.
“Come on.” Paul wrapped his arm around her shoulders and urged her forward.
Her legs wouldn’t move. “The smell. It’s the same smell.” Fire mixed with gasoline, consuming her car. Consuming–
Paul’s arm tightened around her, and his lips brushed her ear. “No one’s inside this time.” He gently turned her head away from the fire. “Don’t look at it. Don’t think about it. Think about moving your legs, about running. Just think about running.”
Paul’s words and pressing arm got her legs moving again.
“Where are we going?” Jillian puffed out after a couple minutes of jogging through snow.
“Away.” Paul didn’t sound the least bit winded. “Unfortunately, our car was disabled, so it’s on to Plan B.”
“Do you have a Plan B?”
“I always have a Plan B. And Plans C and D. Follow me.”

AUTHOR Bio and Links:
When she was eight, Diana decided she wanted to be Nancy Drew. But no matter how many garbage cans she dug through, conversations she “accidentally” overheard, and attics she searched, she never found a single mysterious letter, hidden staircase, or anything else even remotely mysterious or suspenseful. She worked as a lawyer, a soda jerk, a stay-at-home mom, a hospital admitting clerk, and a conference host for events ranging from Lutheran music to the International BB Gun competition. She spent long hours volunteering in a nineteenth century mansion allegedly full of secrets and a few ghosts. Still no luck.
Diana ultimately decided the only way she was going to inject any mystery or suspense into her otherwise satisfying life was by writing about it. Her debut novel, Dangerous Affairs, won a Golden Heart Award from the Romance Writer of America, and she’s received five Golden Heart nominations, including one for Out of Character.
Diana lives in the Twin Cities with her family and an energetic Wheaten terrier.

Twin Runes by Rebecca Brooke
Nothing is as unsettling as waking up in the hospital with no memory. Something about the gorgeous man sitting beside her bed seems familiar, making her feel things she doesn’t recognize. Larsen agrees to help her until she gains her memory back. What he doesn’t tell her is that he knows every piece of her life, even the parts she isn’t allowed to remember. His feelings grow at the same rate as the lies.
Can Kara accept the truth when her memories return? Will she still want Larsen when all is said and done?
Rebecca lives near the shore towns of New Jersey, with her husband and two kids. When she’s not writing she loves reading and watching SOA and TrueBlood.

My Books Are Here!
Yesterday I received my print books from The Wild Rose Press. I am thrilled. They are beautiful, the cover looking great and the print on clear crisp white pages. There’s nothing like holding one of your children in your hands. Well, except for holding one of your real babies in your arms. Celebrate! Dance to the Music! I read something on Facebook last week about dance like no one is looking because they aren’t–they are checking their phones. Funny but true!

Cutting and Rewriting my Fallen Angel Story
An editor asked for me to cut and rewrite this manuscript. There’s no guarantee of a contract, but I was willing to give it a try because I like the publisher and the editor. So, I sent back the revised manuscript yesterday. I’m thinking of changing the title from Redemption (lots of books by this titled) to Bringer of Light. Here’s part of the prologue. What do you think of the titles? Input welcome.
My restoration to Grace plunged Heaven and Hell into civil war. The day the earth stood still, I watched from a rock ledge above a field choked with the great armies. Sunlight glinted on the golden helms of the Righteous and the silver helmets of the Damned. Prophecy echoed in the thud of mortal feet and the beat of a thousand wings. I folded my wings around me. This slight movement drew an immediate reaction. As one, the winged combatants turned to stare at me.
Winter wind ruffled the holy raiment draped about my shoulders and blew on me the scent of bitterness. I could taste their disgust and distrust. But I would not bow my head, unless or until I was forced to do so. If I’d possessed a soul, it would have shrunk inside me, but like my celestial brothers, I am soulless.
Let me introduce myself.
I am Ha-Satan, the Adversary, once Heaven’s Prosecuting Attorney. I have been called the Father of Lies, the Master of Temptation, Lord of Hell. I am the one you’ve been taught to fear, who hides beneath your bed to steal your soul. I am the most fearsome and the most beautiful angel.

AEGIS INCURSION by S.S. Segran
S.S. Segran will award a randomly drawn commenter via Rafflecopter a $25 Amazon/BN GC
BLURB:
*** #1 AMAZON HOT NEW RELEASE (YA/Teen)*** WORLDS COLLIDE . HEROES ARISE ***
Great as a Standalone or as an Explosive Sequel to #1 Amazon Kindle Bestseller, AEGIS RISING.
On a bright July morning in 1948, a B-29 Superfortress flying a top-secret research mission over Nevada crashes into the calm waters of Lake Mead and sinks, remaining lost for half a century.
It has been nearly a year since five friends – Jag, Kody, Mariah, Tegan and Aari – mysteriously reappeared in a small town in Yukon several weeks after their small plane went down in Northern Canada. All were found in good health but with no recollection of what happened to them after the crash.
A baffling contagion is spreading across the bread-basket of North America destroying vital crops. As this dark shadow marches across the globe, widespread famine and riots bring desperate nations to the brink of war.
These seemingly unrelated events set the stage for a battle between the forces of darkness and those destined to become the ‘bearers of light’. From ravaged fields in the Great Plains to clandestine installations around the world, the Aegis League must race against time to save humanity.

“S.S.Segran brings us a worthy sequel to her best-selling debut novel, Aegis Rising. Relentless action and gravity defying twists and turns hold the reader in a tight grip till the last page.” ~ Honore Gbedze ”” The SAGE Foundation ~
“RECOMMENDED! A good sequel stands alone as a strong work without the accomplishments of its predecessors, but a great sequel inspires readers to go back and relive a book they’ve already read, and that is precisely what this book accomplishes.”
~ The US Review of Books ~
“FIVE STARS! A great book to dive into and a fantastic follow up to the first… One of the best things author S.S. Segran has done here is that the book can be read as a stand-alone. Highly recommended!”

Excerpt:
…. He picked up the remote and switched the channel to a national news station. When he saw the headline on the screen, he frowned and turned up the volume.
“ . . . Additional reports are coming in of more crop failures in parts of North Dakota, Kansas and Montana,” the news anchor was saying. “For further details, we now turn to our correspondent in Baldwin City, Kansas.”
As the camera cut away to show a man with a microphone standing among burnt crops in a farmer’s field, Jag turned to the others, looking puzzled. “More crop failures? What’s going on?”

AUTHOR Bio and Links:
S.S.Segran spent a good chunk of her childhood exploring the enchanted forest of a million tales in the mystical land of books. In her early teens, she began crafting intriguing new worlds and conjuring up characters who came alive with the flick of her wand… err… pen. With the publication of her first novel in the Aegis League Series during her senior year of high school, she was surprised by the abundance of time that magically appeared right after graduation. She plans to use this newfound resource to expand the arc of the series. Her future plans include studying Cognitive Science at university and helping youths in developing countries realize their potential through her non-profit organization, Aegis League (www.aegisleague.org)
When not devouring a book or writing one, S.S.Segran can be found standing behind the cauldron of life, stirring a potion made up of chores, parkour, gaming, drawing, horseback riding and—having recently jumped off a perfectly fine airplane at fifteen thousand feet – perhaps skydiving.

Midsummer’s Eve
Originally posted on Pink Fuzzy Slippers Authors:
Sunday, June 21st, is the summer solstice, better known as the first day of summer. It is also known as Midsummer’s Eve or the Wiccan celebration of Litha. I thought it would be interesting to share some of the ancient customs of this night.
The summer solstice is the longest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere.
If Stonehenge is anything to go by, summer celebrations have a millennia-old history. While the ancient druids may have commemorated the fertility of the season, many of us are just happy to get outdoors after a long winter.
In a lot of cultures, the solstice marks the start of summer. In Scandinavia, where it’s known as Midsummer, it is one of the biggest holidays on the calendar. The day is celebrated with copious amounts of herring, vodka, singing, and a dance around the maypole. Throughout much of Europe, it’s referred to as…

SECRET BLEND by Jennifer Bramseth
The author will award a $25 Amazon/BN gift card to a randomly drawn winner via Rafflecopter.
BLURB:
When longtime courtroom rivals Rachel Richards and Brady Craft get appointed to the bench in Bourbon Springs, Kentucky, tempers flare as they are forced to share chambers.
Working closely with the obstinate-yet-sexy Brady is not an attractive idea to Rachel—although she has to admit that Brady himself is pretty damned attractive.
Rachel doesn’t have to run for office to keep her judgeship, but Brady does. He draws a formidable opponent, Hannah Davenport, a wealthy co-owner of Old Garnet Distillery, where some of the finest Kentucky bourbon is crafted north of town along Old Crow Creek and near the historic springs which gave the town its unique name.
And Hannah just happens to be Rachel’s best friend.
As the judicial race heats up, so does the relationship between the judges—so they decide to keep it a secret.
But can any secret be kept in little Bourbon Springs, Kentucky?
SECRET BLEND is the first book in the Bourbon Springs Series, an upcoming nine-book series of smooth, sensual, sexy, slow-burn contemporary romances set amidst the lush and rolling Land of Bourbon and Bluegrass of central Kentucky.
EXCERPT:
Upon a glimpse of his shorts, she saw the reason for Brady’s sudden affinity for standing in a freezer and pressed her lips together, trying not to laugh.
“Maybe you should go in the back of the store,” she suggested. “I think they have the big freezers back there.”
“I’d rather stay here,” he said in a low voice. “The view’s better.” Brady’s eyes raked over Rachel’s body.
“I’m pretty sure you’ve seen an even better one.”
“Indeed I have,” he said. “And recently. Very recently.”
“And would you like to see that view again?” she asked. She saw him swallow and knew she’d gotten the better of him.
He leaned forward and whispered. “I happen to know that if we weren’t in the middle of the grocery store, Judge Richards, I’d be looking at that view right this very minute.”
She sucked in a breath but soon recovered. “I would think,” she said, “that you’d be doing more than simply looking, Judge Craft.” She put a finger to her chin and looked up. “How do I put this? I think you’d be enjoying. But I’m not talking about merely the view.”
He moved closer to her.
“If I had you back where we were—” he looked at his watch “—eight hours ago, Judge Richards, we’d both be enjoying ourselves. I’d certainly enjoy the view of you writhing under me again as I—”
“Judge Richards, Judge Craft,” said a voice from nearby.
Brady and Rachel fell away from each other and looked to see the Commonwealth Attorney, Eleanor Giles, standing and staring at them.
