Take a look inside Pugly on Ice!

Next month we are enormously pleased to be publishing Pugly on Ice – the third book in the fantastic series written by Pamela Butchart and illustrated by Gemma Correll. And today you can take a very first look inside the book!

When Pugly straps on his blades, he knows he is the best ice skater EVER! But someone wants the gold medal very badly and they will stop at nothing to get it. Can Pugly pirouette on to the podium, or will he be cut down in his furry prime?

Easy to read, laugh-out-loud funny, and hilariously illustrated throughout, the Pugly books are great first readers for 5+ year olds.

Here’s a look inside Pugly on Ice:

Pugly on Ice will be in shops from November 3rd – you can find out more about the book here. And if you’d like to stay up to date with all of our books news, you can sign up to our books newsletter at this page, or with the form below.

Five Nosy Crow books on the CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Award nomination lists!

The nomination lists for the 2017 CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Awards have been published today, and we’re absolutely thrilled that five Nosy Crow books have been recognised for the prizes!

The CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals are the UK’s oldest children’s book awards, and are judged solely by librarians. The CILIP Carnegie Medal is awarded for an outstanding book written in English for children and young people, and the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal is awarded for an outstanding book in terms of illustration for children and young people.

The Doughnut of Doom, written and illustrated by Elys Dolan, and Refuge, written by Anne Booth and illustrated by Sam Usher, have both been nominated for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal.

Goldilocks and Little Bear has been shortlisted for a FutureBook Award!

The shortlists for this year’s FutureBook Awards have been unveiled at the Frankfurt Book Fair, and we are thrilled that our Goldilocks and Little Bear app has been recognised in the Best Children’s Digital Book Category!

We are incredibly proud of Goldilocks and Little Bear, and enormously pleased that it has been shortlisted for this award: our Snow White app won the Children’s Digital Book FutureBook Award in 2015, our Jack and the Beanstalk app won the award in 2014, our Rounds: Parker Penguin app won in 2013, and our Cinderella app won in 2011 – and so we are particularly glad that Goldilocks and Little Bear has been recognised for the same prize.

Here’s the trailer for Goldilocks and Little Bear:

App_Store_Badge_135x40_Master_062012

Goldilocks and Little Bear features a unique, interactive new form of storytelling: rotate your device at any point and experience the dual stories of Goldilocks and Little Bear. Enjoy each story in parallel, individually, or however you’d like – you can toggle between the two at any point. It’s the classic story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears – as you’ve never seen it before. While Goldilocks is in the bears’ home, eating their porridge, sitting in their chairs, and sleeping in their beds, Little Bear is in Goldilocks’s family’s home – eating their pancakes, wearing their clothes, and reading their books!

The app is also the recipient of the 2016 UKLA Digital Book Award, an Editor’s Choice Award (and 100% rating) from Children’s Technology Review, a special commendation from the BolognaRagazzi Digital Award, and more.

You can download Goldilocks and Little Bear from the App Store here – and you can read the full shortlists for all of this year’s FutureBook Awards here.
