Insidious

Insidious?

Hollywood?

Ghosts?

Demons?

Give me a break.

Insidious

is that part of me

I can’t get away from.

How I Feel

I don’t feel like writing today. I don’t feel like moving today. I feel like becoming a permanent bump on the couch and eating no bake cookies all day while listening to sad 90’s music. That’s ALL I feel like doing today.

Writing Prompt: Message in a Bottle

Today’s writing prompt: If you were to write a message in a bottle, what would it say? Who would you hope finds it?

My response: “To whoever finds this, I was here. I lived. I loved. I hurt. I laughed. I cried. You will too. Enjoy the ride.”

I would hope it was found by a thoughtful young person who was just starting out in life. Someone who isn’t too cynical or jaded yet, but is mature enough to appreciate life for what it is.

Angry at the Grass

The grass waves at me

but I don’t feel like

greeting it back.

Must be so simple

to just sway in the wind,

no worries

no cares,

everything you have

the sun painted on your back.

It almost makes me glad

you’ll soon be mown down.

Feeling Invisible

Any of you ever feel invisible? Most likely, you are human, so you have felt that way at some point in your life. Unfortunately, I feel that way a lot. I’m not sure if it is the bipolar, the autism, or the fact that I am simply a hermit, but I struggle with feelings of invisibility a lot and sometimes feeling like I don’t even really exist, which is a super weird feeling in itself.

Anyhow, as I was feeling pretty darn invisible lately, I looked up some quotes about the feeling and decided to share a few of my favorites here:

“It would be too easy to say that I feel invisible. Instead, I feel painfully visible and entirely ignored.” ~ David Levithan

“I am invisible, understand, simply because people refuse to see me.” ~ Ralph Ellison

“But most days, I wander around feeling invisible. Like I’m a speck of dust floating in the air that can only be seen when a shaft of light hits it.” ~ Sonya Sones

And lastly, some words from our old friend Eeyore:

“I didn’t notice you were here.”

“That’s all right,” Eeyore said as he sat down. “Nobody ever does.”

Trolls

I simply don’t care

when trolls wander by.

Let them take their

pointed pick axes

and character hatchets

and keep on walking.

If I wait long enough,

ignoring their grump,

sooner or later

they’ll go back

to their dank underground.

Tumbleweed

Like a tumbleweed rolls,

I careen

end over end

through life.

Never stopping,

never knowing

what I’ll collide with next.

Halloween Watercolor and Sticker Collage Art

I may be almost 35-years-old (my birthday is October 27th), but I still love stickers! Glittery stickers, cute stickers, puffy stickers, shiny stickers, character stickers…I like them all! Sometimes I take that love of them and try to integrate it into my artworks, mostly in ACEO art trading card collages that can also be used as bookmarks, which I sell on my Ebay store. I figure it is a simple, fun way to share my favorite stickers with the world.

I don’t just stick stickers on paper and be done with it though, I try to create eye-catching designs and often spruce them up with painting or other color-boosting techniques. Here are a few recent Halloween ones I’ve made with a combination of watercolor paints and stickers:

Adult Coloring is Art

In my opinion, adult coloring is art, and it does take at least some artistic talent to create a visually appealing adult coloring book picture. Of course, I’m probably biased since lately adult coloring has been a hobby I’ve been into, but since several people have bought pieces I colored from my Ebay store, I guess I’m not completely crazy for thinking it is artistic. Here are a few of my favorite pictures I’ve colored recently:
