I Love Contemporary Romance

I love, love, love contemporary romance.  When I started reading romance which I think was around fourteen years ago (man am I aging), I started off on historicals because that was what my library stocked.  I started with Jude Deveraux and devoured everything I could find (don't you just adore finding an author you can't get enough of?) by her as well as Lisa Kleypas' historicals and those by Judith McNaught.  And then I discovered Suzanne Brockmann.

Ken "Wildcard" Karmody is one of my all-time favorite heroes.  Smart and complex, loving and slightly crazy, I loved his story with Savannah.

That was quickly followed by: Linda Howard.
And then Judith McNaught's contemporary, "Paradise."

And Anne Stuart:

And lately, my new favorite, Julie James:

Another favorite is Rachel Gibson who writes great hockey heroes.

All of these authors are excellent at writing about complex heroes and heroines for whom love isn't always easy, but always worth it.
