Review - A Game of Thrones
A Game of Thrones
I have been an avid fan of the HBO series “Game of Thrones” since its inception. I have just gotten around to reading the first book (“A Game of Thrones”) of the series of books (“A Song of Fire and Ice”) on which the series is based. While the series is terrific television, I find the book much clearer and richer. Although the book is very large (over 800 pages), it’s a fast-paced page-turner. The chapters are rather short and unnumbered. Each is written in the p.o.v. (but not voice) of one of the main characters with whom the reader is meant to identify (the heroes rather than the villains so far), and this helps the clarity of the book as well as advances the plot, which every chapter does. Nothing is superfluous. The book is a complex, coherent and compelling masterpiece.

A Dance with Dragons
It's just as fabulous as the first four.

Review - A Dance with Dragons
A Dance with Dragons
A Dance with Dragons is every bit as good as the four books that preceded it. It continues to amaze me that Martin can conceive such complex yet integrated plots and write them in such a way that the books are page-turners.
