Pact Arcanum Update

There are two initiatives I’d like to update you on: new marketing and distribution options, specifically Zazzle and Amazon KDP Select. First, the interior artwork in my books was, for the most part, commissioned especially for that purpose and acts as an important visual aspect of the text. So, for your viewing pleasure, I have [...]

Caveat Emptor

As an author, I have a certain idea of how my work should be perceived. I even went so far as to try and control the reader's perception of my first book by designing the blurb to tone down the gay romance aspects, because I didn't want that to be its only defining feature. People [...]

Sales Figures

In case anyone is interested, March was my best month yet.  Thank you to everyone who took a chance on Sunset, and found it appealing enough to check out the other books in the series. Quarterly sales figures across all books and sales platforms (No April Fools' about it) :   2011 units sold Q1 [...]

On Character Death

As an author, I am pleased when people become invested in my characters, inspiring strong opinions both positive and negative. That investment often results in feelings of approval when one's favorites triumph, and of anger and betrayal when they fail. The ultimate betrayal is, of course, when a character dies or is killed, his potential [...]

Chicken and Egg

I have posted Sunrise (Pact Arcanum #2) temporarily to Wattpad.com so it can be read in its entirety for free in serialized form through their website at http://wattpad.com/ArshadAhsanuddin.  The regular ebook formats remain on sale for those wishing to use dedicated ereaders. When I first sat down to start writing the manuscript that eventually became [...]

The Dockland Murders

Today, as part of the Indie Writers Unite! Blog Tour, I have indie author Alan Place in the house, to talk about his new book, Pat Canella – The Dockland Murders. Q. Tell us a little about yourself. I was born in Middlesborough, North Yorkshire and moved to Bristol in 1963. For as long as [...]

On Fan Fiction

Who here has ever read any fan fiction? Who here has written any? Don't be shy. I won't judge. Fan fiction as a whole is a creative crutch for story development, by providing an instant backstory with which the entire audience is conversant, allowing for immediate immersion. It's excellent for developing a writing skillset, especially [...]

Goodreads Milestone

Today, I passed 100 ratings at Goodreads.com, something of a red letter day in my mind.  To me, it seems like a good time to look back and take stock. What really warms my heart, though, is not the number of people who have found my books engaging enough to comment on them, but the [...]

Starlight now available!

Starlight (Pact Arcanum #4) is now available in ebook format from Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com, and Smashwords.com. The print edition should be available in another week or so.  The revised and updated editions of Sunrise and Moonlight should follow in March, and that will conclude the Pact Arcanum saga, at least in this incarnation.  I am currently [...]

Starlight Launch Update

Starlight (Pact Arcanum #4) is mere hours away from publication. I'm going to give it a single read-through tonight to make sure everything is just the way I want it, and then I will launch it to my online distributors on Monday.  The Print edition should be out in early March.  In the meantime, I [...]
