P1 on the GO
Are you a P1 user? I don’t know if you’re a P1 user, but I’m certainly a P1 user.
I used to use other ISP for my home office, but ever since I moved into my new place, I decided to subscribe to P1 Fiber Business plan instead. It is absolutely affordable. It costs me RM99 (Plus tax, RM120-tax suck, big time) per month with 5mbps unlimited usage. Being a hardcore Internet user, I love everything about it, especially the speed.
The only thing that is inconvenient about it is that my fiber line is only limited to my home office, which means, I cannot bring the whole modem out to online whenever I’m on the go or traveling. Quite inconvenient for me, considering that I’m always on the go and need constant access to the Internet.
So, when P1 was offering their P1 Mifi new ToGo™ plans featuring the new P1 Personal 4G WiFi : MF230 modem for me to review, I was really ecstatic as that indirectly means that I will be able to bring my mobile office everywhere and online on the go. MiFi MF230 modem is basically a modem that will enable you to connect multiple device all at once and on the go. Yups, ladies and gentlemen, that means with this device, you will be able to connect multiple devices simultaneously.
Now, I’ll be really, really honest with you. The signal for this Mifi is pretty much weak at home, but there is still connectivity. But that is okay, because this Mifi is not really intended to be used at home (and I have my P1 fiber line for that, anyway). As the name suggested, this device is created for you to bring around outdoors.
And so, I decided to bring it go around as I travel. Now, I wouldn’t exactly suggest you to use this Mifi for GPS as the signal tends to go up and down whenever you drive, and you won’t be able to refer to the GPS properly if you use the Mifi connection. You’re better off using 3G data plan or a GPS device for that, but I can vouch that this Mifi unit is wonderful to be used in places like cafes and stuff. The coverage is pretty good in some place, and the speed is reasonably fast, even though you connect plenty of device to it. There is no problem watching youtube and downloading stuff. The speed is reasonably fast. I must say that I’m quite happy with it.
Here’s some information on the device and the data plan, in case you’re interested in trying it out.
If I’m not mistaken, they have a no obligation 7 days trial. You might wanna take advantage of this offer and give it a try.
Cleffairy: This device is designed to be used on the go. To use it at home, please check your MiFi coverage before subscribing to the plan.

Spotted the ‘Kiss Me’ Himalaya Truck
How did you spend last Saturday? I spent it here… at Himalaya Malaysia roadshow.
They’re having this ‘Spot the Kiss Me Truck’ contest. And I thought I’d join the fun, considering that I have nothing better to do that day.
Managed to spot the truck easily. It was at the main entrance of Wangsa Walk.
There was plenty of Himalaya’s products on sale
[image error]
These are among the products on sale, promoting smooth, silky and kissable skin.
They’re having plenty of interesting activities for the whole family
[image error]
And they were giving away freebies…for those who LIKE their Facebook Fanpage.
You might wanna Like their page for updates and giveaways too.
There’s also Xbox competition for kids… and big kids alike.
But one thing that caught my attention the most is this motivating message supporting single mothers…
[image error]
Apart from spotting the Kiss Me truck, I also spotted Sharifah Sofea.
She’s been in the local entertainment industry for quite a while now, but I noticed her outstanding performance in Nur Kasih as one of the main male protagonists’ wife. Quite an emotional drama, I must say. If you haven’t watch it yet, you might wanna check it out on TONTON.
And last but not least…met a few more blogger friends.:D
Cleffairy: Thank you Kelly, for the invitation. I had fun.

The Gangster- ANTAPAL Press Screening
Title: THE GANGSTER – ANTAPAL
Genre: Action
Was invited to the press screening of The Gangster the other day. So here’s what The Gangster, is all about…
The movie was inspired by the infamous Thai Gangster Era in 1956 comes the tale of two gangsters, Dang and Jod.
“Antapal” means a hooligan in Thai. But in the 1950s, young men fighting in endless, bloodied gang war are celebrities and heroes. People look up at them and they swagger around old Bangkok as if they have the world in the palms of their hands. But the military dictator comes to power and order a massive crackdown on triads and thugs, and young hoodlums fall from grace. They are either shot dead or thrown in jail. Two of the hottest young gangsters are Daeng and Jod, and they’re determined to survive the hard times.
From the rock n’ roll age comes the hippie decade, and Jod (Krisada Sukosol Clapp) and his buddy Dang (Somchai Kemklad) want to make a comeback. Daeng and Jod work for a powerful mafia, running protection rackets and controlling bars. At the same time two young men, Thong (Sakarin Suthamsamai) and Piak (Krisada Suparpprom), start their lives in the rough road of hooliganism and look up at Jod and Daeng as their idols.
But soon Jod begins to see through the vicious cycle of his life. Violence is not a guarantee of respect, and the police soon begin to make their lives harder again. Thong and Piak have a different perception in the dangerous lifestyle from the world-weary Jod and Daeng. As Bangkok changes and as the world changes, they have to resolve the conflict and decide whether they want to keep walking on the path of hooligans.
The movie is fast paced and action packed, so if you’re into that sort of thing, you might wanna check it out in the cinema. It will be shown nationwide starting from 11th October 2012.

Do you personalize your Facebook?
Facebook has implemented Timeline profile for quite some time now. Some love it, some loathe it. Those who are quite conservative, will find the changes are rather annoying as in some ways, the Timeline have quite a messy outlook, but to me, I’m neutral about it. I may take some time to adapt to the changes, but it the end of the day I get along fine with the changes, just like many other things in my life. Things are constantly changing, so you can’t just remain the same and refuse to accept the change. Everyone needs to move forward and adapt to the changes to survive.
Being a person who loves clean and organized layout, I used to think that Facebook Timeline is complicated. But I survived that, and I learned to love the function. Apart from being able to track all my Facebook status updates and pictures easily, I like the fact that I can change my Facebook cover and personalize it. I usually download the Facebook Timeline cover from the net or Foob blog. How about you? Do you personalize your Timeline? If you do, where do you usually get your Facebook Timeline cover to personalize your Facebook account? Please share with me.

Adam dan Hawa
List Price: RM 19.90
ISBN: 983-124-216-5
Page count: 512
Weight: 450 gram
Publication date: 23rd Nov 2005
As of late, I find that reading Malay novels is pretty much refreshing. It’s really quite a break from my usual fare, and I find myself enjoying it a bit more than the English novels. It’s usually intriguing, full of drama and romantic, but the scenes never goes beyond PG-13, which is quite fascinating for me. Malay novels usually evoke quite a lot of emotion within it’s pages and inspire me to read more and more of it. I got to admit, they are quite addictive in some ways. You just need to keep turning the pages to find out what will happen next.
Anyway, I was in MPH when I stumbled upon this book, Adam dan Hawa by Aisya Sofea. It’s on the top bestseller list and apparently, it has been adapted into a drama of the same name, currently showing in Astro Mustika HD (134) since 27th August 2012 at 10pm every Monday to Thursday.
Now, I don’ t have Astro at home, but I stumbled upon this trailer, and it’s quite interesting, I must say.
I can’t comment much on the drama adaptation of the novel, but I certainly can tell you what I think about the novel version of Adam dan Hawa.
First of all, I must say that the author chose quite a typical theme for her novel, which is the hero and the heroine is forced to get married due to unforeseen circumstances. In this case, the main character, Adam and Hawa was forced to get married because they are framed by Adam’s green-eyed monster ex-girlfriend and got caught in close proximity. Hawa, who happens to have a crush on Adam in the beginning of the story, loathe him after their marriage solemnization as he refused to declare that they did nothing wrong and decides to marry her instead to avoid gossips. She felt utterly violated as in her eyes, Adam is not qualified to be her husband. In her eyes, he is an ultimate playboy and a Casanova.
Interesting thing to note that despite the fact that Hawa hates her husband very much to the point that she ran away from him, he does not detest her, and keep pining for her. The couple was separated for 8 years, and when they finally found each other again, Adam made a point to win her heart again despite of her hatred towards him. In my opinion, the story is rather romantic in nature, and I like how the author described Adam as a husband. He was in a way, like most husbands in Malay novels, is quite possessive and can be quite romantic at times.
There’s plenty of rough patches here and there in the story. INSERT: Nasty ex girlfriend who wants him back, Hawa’s insecurities and jealousies, etc, but this book is definitely easy and enjoyable read. Plenty of characters development, and the pace is bearable too. This book radiates warmth, and you can easily feel the warm and fuzzy feeling after reading this book.
I would definitely pick this book up more than once, and quite a page turner if you like drama and romance. Personally, I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars for its emotional roller coaster ride.
Book description:
Tapi keegoannya cuba menidakkan. Ingin diluah, mulut tak terkata. Ingin disimpan hati tak tertanggung. Bagi Adam, dia tetap menanti Hawanya biarpun lapan tahun lagi
ENGLISH TRANSLATION (sorry, I’m a bit rusty)
AIN HAWANI’s single life ended prematurely. Gossips, miscalculations, and misunderstanding imprisoned her and Adam Mukhriz in close proximity. She begged him to clear her name. The man chose not to say a word to clear the air, as if what they were accused of is really true. In the end, they were forced to be married.
Unfortunately, the marriage is just on made on paper. Frustrated, Ain left to seek for her pride again. Adam was left on his own, counting the days, pining for her. Ain never did bother to look back, to feel the love that she actually had for him deep inside her heart. Adam relented. It’s all his fault after all as he he was not brave enough to express his love for her.
After eight years being separated, Ain and Adam were reunited at the entrance of Masjidilharam. To Adam, this is a prayer answered. Ain, on the other hand, continue to hate him and takes their relationship as nothing more but a piece of paper, and all she’s waiting for is for the talak. But is that true? After their reunion, she feels unsettled with his presence. There’s mixed feelings for Adam.
Is it true that there is love deep inside? Her ego says no. Can’t word things out, can’t keep it bottled in. For Adam, he will wait for his Hawa, even for eight years more.

Introducing my new friend, MiFi MF230
I can do without a lot of things in life, but definitely not the Internet. Being an author, freelance writer and also a blogger requires me to be connected with the cyber world almost 24 hours a day. I have to be connected to take up writing projects as a freelance writer, and as a blogger, I constantly need to update my blog on the go from various location. In other words, the Internet and social media is my life, and my source of income. Without it, I am nothing.
If you’ve been really following my blog and is my friend on Facebook, you’d realized that I’ve recently moved into a new house, and I’m not exactly happy with its terrible condition and the lack of Internet connection during the first few weeks of settling down in the new place.
I’m a hardcore Internet user. Imagine my frustration and STRESS when I couldn’t get connected to do anything. Sure, I subscribed to various broadband service provider and I do have mobile Internet, but the connection in my house is absolutely terrible. I daresay that this house is an abomination to all Internet user alike and should be avoid like a plague. I feel like a walking zombie, and I’ve been almost a permanent refuge in McD. You see, McD is offering free WiFi…
So I went there everyday to do my stuff over a cup of refillable tea.
Anyway speaking of WiFi and Internet connection, P1 just launched their P1 Mifi new ToGo™ plans featuring the new P1 Personal 4G WiFi : MF230 modem and the High Performance Personal 4G WiFi : MX230.
I was really grateful when P1 is offering to review their MiFi MF230 modem. It is a modem that will enable you to connect multiple device all at once and on the go. I thought, that’s pretty much Godsent and I could make use of the free Internet connection for a couple of weeks until my ISP comes and install the fiber line in my new house..
So, here’s introducing my new friend, MF230. The box set consists of the MiFi modem, a USB cable for charging and direct connection purpose and a small instruction leaflet.
It’s small, portable, and you could easily mistake it for a smart-phone if you didn’t really bother to take a good look at it. Basically, it is designed for you to use on the go. It runs on battery and can be can be carried in your pocket or bag. This modem can connect up to 5 devices at one go. So yes…you can connect your tablet, PC, laptop, smart-phone and whatnot all at once with this modem. Pretty cool, huh?
Once it is turned on and the connection is established, the first light will be stable in green (excellent coverage), orange (okay coverage) or red (low coverage). Then your device will be able to search and detect the P1 modem. It is compatible with both Windows and Linux… so yes… if you are a person who detest Windows and is a Linux user…you may consider using this. I tested it on both Windows and my Ubuntu. My laptop that’s running on Ubuntu does not have any problems detecting the device.
I must say, I’m pretty happy with this particular fact, as I had problems with another ISP where my Ubuntu cannot detect their modem and I had to find third-party driver just so that I could use that broadband.
I have yet to really, really test this babe… I’m still fiddling around with it… so I suppose when I’ve really tested it… with all the devices that I have at home, (laptop, smart- phone, tablet, PC) and on the go, I’ll let you know if I’d recommend this or not. Til then…stay tune and wait for my next review, ya?
Cleffairy: So far, I can really vouch that this MiFi MF230 is really great for travelers and bloggers who are always on the go. I’ve used this on the go with multiple device, and so far, it does not failed me.

Huber Hill and the Brotherhood of Coronado
Title: Huber Hill and the Brotherhood of Cornado
Publisher:Cedar Fort
Imprint:Sweetwater
Pub Date: October 09, 2012
ISBN: 9781599559810
Author:B.K. Bostick
Truth be told. I’m not really in the mood for reading these days. Okay, okay… that’s a half-baked truth. I’m not in the mood for anything at all these days. Things are really overwhelming on my side of the world, I’m practically zombified. I feel as if I’m on a verge of a breakdown and lot of things turned me off.
Out of the sudden, I remembered that my author friend, B.K. Bostick has personally asked me if I wanted to host a blog tour for his latest book last month, and I thought, hey…I’ve completely forgotten about that, and I actually owed him a review since he had sent me the ARC of his book. (Gosh, it really slipped my mind!)
Anyway, to cut the long story short, I decided to re-read the first installment of Huber Hill to refresh my memories on the storyline, and read the installment of it afterwards.
I may feel melancholic before starting to revisit the characters and the story of Huber Hill , but re-reading the story gives me a thrilling effect. I fell in love with it over and over again, and I fell in love with the installment of the series, Huber Hill and The Brotherhood of Colorado.
Huber Hill and The Brotherhood of Colorado emancipate me as an adult. It is pure, exciting, child-like escapism and it’s been a really, really long time since I last read something so wonderful as this. In a modern literary world that is infested with vampires, werewolves and dark tales, Huber Hill and Brotherhood of Colorado is definitely refreshing and brings back the good old feelings when I was still a child where children and YA books are never dark or infested with serious social issues. This book is definitely a keeper.
The story itself is an adventure with plenty of twist and turns that keep you going on and on. And by the time I reached the last page, I wished that it does not have to end there as the book brought smile to my face with the character’s antics. This book is not only action packed, but filled with mystery and a tad of playful and innocent romance as well.
Definitely one of my favorite children book so far, and I will not hesitate to recommend this book to educators, parents and children of 6 years old and above. This book deserves gleaming 5 stars for purely wonderful fun.
Book description:
The Dead Man’s Treasure has been stolen! When Huber receives a revelatory message from a girl in Spain regarding the treasure’s location, the gang hatches a plan. Convincing their parents they are part of a study abroad program, Huber, Scott, and Hannah travel to Salamanca, Spain- an old city full of secrets.
While in pursuit of their goal, the group becomes dangerously entwined with a secret society called the Brotherhood of Coronado- a ruthless organization led by three self-proclaimed kings, bent on reacquiring the lost fortunes of the Spanish empire for nefarious purposes.
Their only hope of finding the stolen treasure and escaping the city with their lives requires trust in new-found friends and in a cloaked figure who reveals clues leading to the Brotherhood’s hiding place. But in a city of strangers, who can you trust?
With a plot that will keep you guessing, Huber Hill and the Brotherhood of Coronado is a study abroad adventure you’ll want to be a part of!
I received the unedited ARC of this book from B.K Bostick himself.
B.K. Bostick, author of Huber Hill and the Brotherhood of Coronado and the best-selling book, Huber Hill and the Dead Man’s Treasure, resides among the magnificent Rocky Mountains. In addition to writing, he has spent his career in education. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Utah and his Masters in Psychology from Utah State University. He has worked as a teacher, after school program coordinator, teacher mentor, and currently as a counselor for the Open High School of Utah. He loves spending time with his lovely wife, son and two dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys eating cheetos and watching old episodes of the Twilight Zone.

Friends are blessings from God
Even when my heart is crushed over and over again mercilessly…and my world crumbles beneath me, God is merciful for he gave me friends to comfort me and cheer me up. Thank you for all the troubles you have gone through for me, Mamarazzi, Mamasprout and Littlemermy. You guys means alot to me. Doomsday Preppers
Following a year when the daily news cycle has been dominated by financial instability, government coups and the latest disaster footage, one group of people believes this year could be their last. Whether anticipating a natural disaster like an earthquake or massive solar flare, or a manmade catastrophe such as economic collapse or nuclear winter, these men and women stand united in their unshakable certainty that we will soon faces tougher times – times when grocery stores are empty, water is in short supply, and electricity is unavailable.
Delve into the lives of otherwise ordinary citizens who are preparing for the end of the world as we know it in the new series Doomsday Preppers, premiering 17 September at 9.00pm on National Geographic Channel (Astro Ch 553) and thereafter every Monday at 9.00pm.
Doomsday Preppers goes inside the prepping subculture, uncovering a wide assortment of prepping styles and approaches, meeting preppers on their own turf, examining their methods and tracking progress as they think through every logistic and contingency plan. Preppers come in all shapes and sizes – men and women, young and old, they live and work like others. But their ultimate life goal is preparing for the end.
While stockpiles of food and weapons may seem over the top preparations to some, for doomsday preppers they represent basic responsibility and peace of mind. They will go to whatever lengths deemed necessary to make sure they are prepared if basic services should falter, and chaos and violence become the order of the day. Though unique in their beliefs, motivations and strategies, these preppers are planning ahead for a time when hardship and hunger turns citizens against each other.
Each prepper also receives an expert assessment from Practical Preppers, a company founded by long-time preppers who share their experiences and knowledge through teaching, training and consulting. The experts analyse the preppers’ chances of survival if their worst fears become a reality and they have to put their plans into action. Viewers are left to make their own decision as to whether the preppers are practical planners… or just plain paranoid.

Doomsday Preppers: I Hope I Am Crazy (17 September, Monday, 9.00pm)
Meet four individuals who prove that preppers do not come in just one shape or size. Kellene Bishop, a self-described foodie, amazes her friends by whipping up a dinner party entirely from shelf-stable foods, proving she will not sacrifice the finer things in a financial disaster. She also teaches a quick-draw shooting class and a hand-to-hand combat class that will help women protect themselves in case a massive economic collapse should breed lawlessness. Dennis Evers has trained his children with special skills to withstand a catastrophic financial collapse. His oldest son shows us how he can fashion bows and arrows for security, his daughters weld and stockpile fuel, his wife cans massive amounts of food, and his son-in-law is working on a solar-powered satellite system that will allow the family to communicate if chaos should break out due to hyperinflation. From his farm, prepper David Sarti calls himself the “hillybilly prepper.” Should our nation’s communications and transportation systems falter after an EMP — an electro-magnetic pulse, or sudden burst of energy caused by a solar flare that can take out any electrical appliance on a nationwide scale — he is prepared to use his home as a communications hub for post-Apocalyptic America, using amateur or Ham Radio which requires no phone lines, no internet and can be run completely on battery or solar power. And Kathy Harrison is a self-described New England liberal, preparing for “the big one.” In the event of a massive earthquake, she and members of her like-minded community are working together to garden, sew, can, and generally prepare for a world where supermarkets and retail stores are a thing of the past.

Doomsday Preppers: Back To The Stone Age (24 September, Monday, 9.00pm)
R.E.M’s “It’s the End of the World as We Know It” might be a good mantra for these three individuals who are readying for the end of days. Phoenix dad Tim Ralston is prepared for an EMP attack on America. He built a shipping container specially outfitted for survival purposes and taught his sons to defend the compound with weapons. Jason Charles is a New York Firefighter, preparing for the eruption of the Yellowstone super volcano. He’s storing MREs and water in his city apartment. Pat Brabble is a church-going Southern gentleman with a twist: he believes our country is on the brink of hyperinflation, which will unleash civil unrest all across the country. To prepare, Pat readied a secret room in his barn that is full of guns, ammo, and plenty of alcohol for trade.

Doomsday Preppers: Nine Meals Away From Anarchy (1 October, Monday, 9.00pm)
Are you prepared for the end of the world? These men hope they are. Mike Mester fears an imminent economic collapse will bring violence and rioting to his quiet suburban town outside of Atlanta. To prepare, Mike involves his whole family in stockpiling food, fuel, and weapons. He’s even trained his two German Shepherds to act as protection dogs when things collapse. Preston White, a computer programmer from Colorado believes there is a cover-up surrounding Japan’s damaged Fukushima Daiichi power plant. So he’s collected 11,000 types of seeds to help him grow his own food after a radioactive disaster. If doomsday arrives, Riley Cooper has invested his savings into a bug out shelter he hopes will protect his family from a catastrophic polar shift.

Doomsday Preppers: It’s All Gonna Hit The Fan (8 October, Monday, 9.00pm)
We meet three Americans who are making huge personal sacrifices to prepare for the end of the world as we know it. Former police officer Martin Colvill is a mobile prepper, who keeps all his supplies in the cab of his big rig truck. Utah grandmother Donna Nash is preparing to quarantine her loved ones if they contract a deadly pandemic, and Kevin O’Brien is uprooting his entire family to save them from the polar shift he believes will sink Florida.
Doomsday Preppers: Friends Can Become Enemies (15 October, Monday, 9.00pm)
We meet four Americans who give their all when it comes to preparedness. Real estate developer Larry Hall is creating luxury survival condos in an old missile silo. Coloradan Riley Cook is readying his family to live in a high-altitude bunker. Michael Patrick Douglas is training his children in primitive survival skills. Becky Brown is taking sharpshooting lessons with a sniper in order to prepare herself for a government takeover of Salt Lake City.
Doomsday Preppers: Into The Spider Hole (22 October, Monday, 9.00pm)
We meet three Americans who are desperately preparing for a great worldwide catastrophe. Californian Doug Huffman has plans to retreat underground when we face the next Great depression. The hippy loving Ed Peden is living in an 18,000 square foot underground strong nuclear structure. And the vibrant Canadian, Dianne Rogers is haunted by a reoccurring dream that she thinks is a glimpse of her future.
Doomsday Preppers: It’s Gonna Get Worse (29 October, Monday, 9.00pm)
In the eighth episode we discover the unique lives of three average Americans as they invite us in their home to show us their preparations for the end of the world as we know it. San Diego psychiatrist, Bradford Frank, is stockpiling medication in hopes of surviving a pandemic. Loving father and husband, Jeremy (last name not revealed by request), is predicting a catastrophic oil crisis, and is prepping his truck to run off alternate substances. Bruce Beach has built a bunker out of school buses to survive a full-out Nuclear War.
