Think +

I spoke to my father last night and he was sharing with me his problems. Apparently, this year is not a really good year for our family. Alot of things happens to us as individuals and there are plenty of challenges that we have to face that sometimes it’s overwhelming to deal with.

My father spoke to me on how he is considering an early retirement as he could no longer feel the joy of working, but fought against it as he is worried for so many things, financially speaking. His concern is something I can understand, of course. Who wouldn’t worry about that when there is so many financial commitments? I always worry about that too.

But there is an important lesson that I learned from my father last night. He told me something that he used to tell me when I was a little girl but finally  made sense to me after all these years. He said…when we are desperate to chase for worldly things, it will consume you til there is nothing left. The trick to go about life and deal with challenges in life is to let worldly things chase you instead. He reminded me that whenever prayers goes up, blessings will come down, and so, no matter what we do, just do our best, and let God do the rest.

My father is right. As human, we can only do our best and leave the rest to God. For what it’s worth, if something belongs to us, it will be ours. If it is not, we shall never have it, no matter how hard we try.

Towards the end of our conversation, he told me that throughout our lives, there will always be things that makes us feel that life is not quite worth living anymore, but it is important to remember to THINK +, as only when we think positive and have good thoughts about things and about people around us, we will be affected positively and only then, things will be better.

Cleffairy: My father’s email always ends with ‘Think +’. I find that little thing rather comforting and encouraging, despite of the content of the emails. Small things like this is inspirational to me, and it makes me smile.

Earn Money From Home

A lot of married, stay at home ladies do not realize how important it is to have financial independence until they realized that life is not always a bed of roses or things goes a tad wrong in Paradise. For most, they realized that they couldn’t always depend on their husband when it’s already too late or when they have left the working community way too long to be marketable. Most have major breakdown when things goes wrong, and struggled to get back on their own feet in order to gain financial freedom.

Stay at home wife, or stay at home mothers have loads of things to consider about when they want to start working outside again. More often than not, having just stayed at home for years to look after their children, their main concern is that whether or not their children can adapt with the upcoming changes. They worried for their children’s welfare, and the feel that working from home or being a freelancers is always a better choice.

Don’t judge people who feels that way. They are not ‘LAZY’ as you labeled them. You have no idea how it is like to walk in their shoes, and should those mothers prefers to earn money from home to help improve family economy and support the family, you ought to applaud them instead of condemning them.

In my humble opinion, the corporate sectors should stop stereotyping and provide opportunities that these kind of people need. Most companies are not exactly family friendly, especially in Malaysia. Not all office provide nursery service for their employee’s peace of mind, and new mothers are often forced to resigned as they have no one to look after their newborns and stuff.

There’s this terrible mindset too. A lot of people thinks that working from home is simply not productive. Whoever says working from home is not productive? Just because you can’t see them working, does not mean they are just staying home not doing anything and just sipping tea while enjoying their freshly baked cookies while watching TV.

There is plenty of ways for you to earn money from home. Personally, I take up freelancing jobs and monetize my blog; something that takes up a lot of effort and connection. Doing paid posts/advertorials also depends on the quality of your blog and how often you update your blog, so it is not easy.

But then again, easy or not, there is a lot of ways for you to earn money from home. Here”s some ways how you can earn money from home:

Through blogging-content writing, accepting guest posts, reviews, etc. One of the famous, well known way to get these opportunities is by hooking up with local and offshores advertising agencies like Nuffnang, Advertlets, PayPerPost, Sponsored Post etc. (Google it for more info)
Through social marketing- on Facebook, Twitter, etc
Taking up freelance designing job
Sell stuff online via blog shop or fb boutique
Join affiliate programs
Make investments with your allowance or savings. There is plenty of ways you can do this, and the simplest, one of the safest way is fixed deposit and gold exchange.

Fresh from winning major accolades at the recently concluded Emmy awards, critically-acclaimed series Homeland is proving to be a show to look out for as it comes back for a second season.

This psychological thriller made a big splash at the Emmys last month when it upstaged other well-known dramas to win a total of four awards, including the coveted Best Drama Series beating hot favorite Mad Men in the process.

The show’s main stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis also triumphed at the awards show when they were acknowledged for their exceptional work as both won in their respective categories for Best Lead Actress and Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Meanwhile, the series’ co-creators

Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon earned an Emmy for their outstanding writing.

The series follows MIA Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody (Lewis) who returns home to a hero’s welcome after eight years in enemy confinement. However, brilliant but volatile CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Danes) isn’t buying his story. The second season continues the game of cat-and-mouse as Brody further infiltrates the US government and an attack on US soil grows imminent.

Cleffairy: Be sure to watch Homeland S2, a thriller that’ll keep you at the edge of your seat wanting more! Homeland S2 premieres with 2 back-to-back episodes on 14 October 2012 at 11.00pm exclusively on FOX Movies Premium (Astro Ch 413) and FOX Movies Premium HD (Astro Ch 433).

Aku Terima Nikahnya

I’ve been quite hooked with not only Malay novels lately, but also Malay dramas. I don’t know what has gotten into me, but somehow, I feel that it is really refreshing and quite interesting. I used to think that they’re rather lame… all they have to offer is just love, lame ghost story and the plot is somewhat a repetition. But these days, after following quite a few, I think they’re not so bad after all. In fact, they are quite modern and up to par with those international favourites from Bollywood and Korea.

The most recent dramas I’ve been hooked to is the dramatization of Adam& Hawa. Not too shabby, though I must say that the storyline a plot is a tad different from the novel.

Anyway, I stumbled upon one of the latest Malay movie known as ‘Aku Terima Nikahnya’, which brought the meaning ‘I accept this marriage’ or simply ‘I Do’ in English.

Check out the trailer here:

Quite an interesting story, but in my humble opinion, the plot and the storyline does have the similarities with ‘The Vow’

The only difference is that in ‘Aku Terima Nikahnya’, the one who lost the memories and forget everything is the guy, not the heroine.

Nevertheless, both are interesting in it’s own ways. :D   You might wanna check it out. Both are romantic, and if you’re a sucker for romance, you will like both of it, regardless the language.

Cleffairy: Thou shall not discriminate.

Safe and secure banking with Maybank2u

To say that I feel insecure these few days is an understatement, especially when it comes to going out on my own to the bank to withdraw money. Call me a paranoid, but as of late, whenever I go out at night on my own, I don’t feels safe. I keep thinking of bad things… bad things like me getting robbed and murdered.

image

Let’s just admit it. Malaysia is not exactly a safe place to live in. Plenty of women were kidnapped, raped and murdered. Sure, I’ve learned self-defense and whatnot, but that does not insure me against anything. I mean, whenever things happened, I tend to panic, and that’s not even a joke.

image

Sure, the bank is always secured with loads of CCTV and armed security guards, but I still can’t shake  the nagging feelings that bad things are going to happen to me and my son whenever I go to the bank to withdraw money. I don’t feel safe anymore with all those bad news in the media. It’s not easy to be a woman, huh? You’re always an easy target for criminals. :(

But luckily for me, there is Maybank2u. Despite the fact that I cannot exactly get cash from the online transaction, it made my life easier as I can not only pay bills online, but I can shop for a lot of things online too. Online banking has definitely made my life easier, and safer. I definitely feel much more secure with online banking services like Maybank2u.com. It saves me the trouble of going out unnecessarily for banking purposes.

With Maybank2u, everything is on the tips of my fingers. I can access it from various device, from my PC, and also from my tablet and smart-phone. :D All you need to do is just download the apps on apps store for iPhone, and Google Play for Android. :D The apps is free for you to download, in case you’re wondering.

I used to be in the dark about my account until I go to the ATM machine, but now I can make balance inquiry for my savings account, keep track of recent transactions that I’ve made, make 3rd party transfer and many more.

Ditigal banking is really easy, safe and convenient. Enjoy the convenience of digital banking today! Get yourself to the nearest Maybank branch and activate your Maybank2u account now. For more information, visit www.maybank2u.com

Body art fetish

Do you have any fetish? Well, I’m sure some of you do but dare not admit it to the public. People have all sorts of fetish. Mine is red undies…Superman’s red undies, that is… :P Apart from that, I’m also crazy about body art. When I was in my teenage years, I dreamed of getting myself a tattoo, but since I can’t possible get a tattoo on my body without going through all the needle pain, I went crazy for non intrusive, non permanent body art like Henna or Mahendi instead.I can’t help myself. They’re so exotic and pretty…

I visited a Beauty EXPO last week, and I spotted a Henna stall. They were doing giveaways and demonstrating the art of drawing Henna, and I offered myself for it. :P LOL. Nice… isn’t it? I certainly think the Henna drawing on the back of my hand is nice…and I can’t wait to dig into the goodie bag and draw em on my body. :D

Cleffairy: I am a terrible artist. I hope I won’t screw it up.
