Nostalgia

So, I wrote my latest book set in the eighties, and a lot of people who grew up in that era are very nostalgic for the fledgling video games they played. Me? I never got into gaming at all, but I had to laugh when someone mentioned Atari...

I dug this little gem out of the archives, LOL.

I was a seventeen year old emancipated minor, living on my own and taking whatever jobs I could get to make ends meet. I worked at a temp agency for a short while, and manned the cash register at the company store.

I wish I knew then what I know now.

I also wish I still had my old '69 Rambler 440 wagon. It was a beast. *sigh*

VOTE! Please help me pick my cover!

#1 #2 #3

Hello everyone! I'm a few days away from publishing my latest book, "After Last Call", and I've made some covers for it.

Won't you please help me by choosing your favorite cover from the three I have posted here? I'll be obnoxiously requesting votes for a few days this week, and then I'll gather all the feedback I get from Booklikes & Goodreads in order to select the final-final.

The story is a romantic-suspense / murder-mystery set in the eighties.

Here are larger versions:

BLURB :

"Lola is ready for a change. She’s blown the first half of the eighties drifting aimlessly through Miami’s cocaine-fueled nightclub scene, so when a sweet-talking stranger comes to town she allows him to sweep her off her feet and clear across the country.

Predictably, things in California don’t go according to plan, and Lola finds herself on her own for the first time in her life. A new job offers her a second chance at a fresh start, but just as things begin to fall into place a reckless workplace affair leads to a friend’s disappearance, exposing two dead girls with one man in common.

Ensnared in a web of deceit and danger, Lola must decide whether to run from her troubles once again or take a stand and fight for her new life—only this time, she’s threatened with more than just the loss of her newfound independence."

I would be eternally grateful if you would leave your choice in the comments. Thank you!

Art Major Humor

Yeah, I went to art school ;)

I think that's why I can take criticism so easily. Art school critiques are brutal.

Not to mention teenage modeling and the propensity for picking the wrong men in my younger years. I have a hide like a rhino, LOL.

Where?

Hahaha! So true!

When I was a teenager I worked at a record store (remember those?) and the major labels would send out all kinds of promotional swag : posters, cutouts, and fat stacks of empty album covers for window displays.

Since I was "creative" I got turned loose with a staple gun and some tape to make all kinds of collages and mobiles. In the wee small hours one of my creations fell from the wall and tripped the alarm system, forcing the manager out of bed and to the store to disarm it.

Needless to say, he was not a happy camper the next time I came to work. Nearly ended my career. Where? At the Wherehouse! LOOOOL
