Outlook for Virgos in 2010

by Janice Roper

Virgos have grown a sturdier, more streamlined identity in the past few years and gained a new orientation to life that has required introspection. This birthday year of 2010 gives Virgos new confidence to the world as they have an innate gift for dealing with other people's problems in simple, practical ways. Set incremental, attainable goals and celebrate small steps on your relentless journey towards perfection. Invest in yourself: spend time and/or money on new tools or...

Snapshot of the New Moon in Virgo

Credit: Free pictures from acobox.com

Let's talk about the energies coming at the New Moon in Virgo on September 8, 2010.

Virgo energy nourishes, supports, shields and eventually reveals the Divine Plan (or the Law of Dharma/Purpose in Life as discussed by Deepak Chopra) in each one of us. We can choose to use this monthʼs energy to adapt and function skillfully in the physical world. Consider the following:

Rejecting all feelings of jealousy and hatred toward any person.Staying positive about...

My Favorite Mistake

Of all my stories, readers seem very curious to know what happens next after they finished reading, "My Favorite Mistake" from Friday Night Chicas. They take the trouble to hunt me down via email, Facebook and Twitter (not that I'm complaining!). When I tell them that indeed, I don't know what happened to these characters, they demand satisfaction.

Maybe that's a sign I should pursue a sequel after I finish The Guy Upstairs.

Just a thought.

And to all of you who have taken the trouble to...

I may never buy another book again

Yup you read that right. As someone who has packed up and moved a 500+ book collection five times, I may never buy another physical book again now that I own a Nook.

In my house, books are everywhere. Crammed into bowing shelves, stacked to be read or donated or shared with family and friends, packed into boxes in the garage and piled by our beds (and if I looked, probably under the bed, too).

However the Nook takes away the clutter and the dust. When I'm finished reading, I archive it...

Listen up Capricorns

{{desc}}

via Capricorn Giclee Print by Luz-Maria Lopez at Art.com.

If you're an uptight driven Capricorn like me, this is s a welcome smack upside the head that we mountain climbers need every now and then:

"It's difficult to believe, but you don't actually have the last word on how things turn out — this time. That ought to be welcome news, since it means you can actually live your life instead of trying to steer it."

Check out today's horoscope.

Between the Pages with Margo Candela

The latest & greatest from Margo Candela

Margo doesn't know this but many years ago, her editor was the very first to send me a manuscript asking for a blurb. It was pretty cool because not only did I get a free book, but like Angelina and other concerned celebrities, I got to lend my dubious claim to fame to another writer. Did it help? I'd like to think so when considering that Margo's last book, More Than This (I got an ARC and couldn't put the damn thing down until I finished it at 2 in the morning!) was a Target Book Pick and h...

Happy Eclipse Watching!

From Art.com

Photo: "Hindu Devotees Observe a Solar Eclipse as They Take Holy Dips in the Sangam in Allahabad, India" from Art.com

By Janice Roper

On July 11, 2010 there will be a Total Solar Eclipse at 3:33 p.m. EDT at 19 Degrees Cancer. This eclipse will be visible from the Cook Islands, French Polynesia, southern Chile and southern Argentina. Mark Twain once said, "History doesn't repeat itself but it rhymes and throughout our lives certain characters seem to be familiar." His remarks "connect" with...

Showing Up

Fish Waiting For You To Show Up

"Fish Waiting for You To Show Up" @ Art.com

I've had a cold since Friday and the stride I had going on The Guy Upstairs slowed to an L.A.-freeway, five-o'clock crawl. In other words, I've been picking away at chapter 11 for five days! (Even though I laid the ground work for chapter 12, chapter 11 is is like the two year-old who refuses to go to bed easily.)

It's tempting … oh so tempting to move onto chapter 12. But it doesn't feel right. Before you dismiss this as New Age hooey, let me say...

May Tidings

From Art.com

by Janice Roper

The Earth has moved into a new space in the cosmos since the first of the year. Haven't you noticed the endings with relationships, careers and geographical residences seem to be the norm now? Also, we're leaving behind the old that no longer fits (i.e. ideas and traditions) as we prepare for the movement of the planet Uranus to enter the sign Aries for the first time in 85 years on May 29, 2010 and stays until March 7, 2019. Uranus represents freedom from the...
