Losing your mind to the virtual

From the book, 'I Maya'

'Eventually, in time the Fundamentals and Hackers were able to destroy enough of the infrastructure which limited supplies of electricity so that people who lived in the Virtual Reality World, who now lived in domed communities, died from the shock of being removed from their virtual world. It was too much for the mind so far removed from the hardship of reality to suddenly find themselves returned there'.

Analysing the quote

In the old world before it''s destruction, many humans reached a point where they could no longer tolerate the everyday mundane world. Virtual reality became the reality for many. There day to day life was an artificial fabrication of their own design. They were able to create an image of their perfect world and live in it, mentally anyway.
It became an addiction, the virtual world became the opium that they could not live without. When they were forced to confront the real again, they died, being so out of touch. The reality was not dynamic enough, they were hyper sensitive to a reality that did not feed all their desires.

On the train each day. I don't see anyone's eyes. Heads bowed down, they are in the reality of their tiny screens, preferring the screen to looking up and seeing the world. Eventually people will never look up, eventually the screens they look at now will be implanted so to just open your eyes will give them the opportunity of living in the make believe reality.

Our minds are now being moulded into one, thought patterns are being shaped by Tech Giants. Like a cigarette which has addictive substances, modern marketing also has additives making it harder for people to turn away and see the sky.
Let go of your phone, turn away and keep your independent mind before it's too late. The control over your mind has already started.

New Book

I have been working on my second book for several years now. It has been extremely difficult. Book 1, 'I Maya', although still challenging of course, it was much easier to write than this one. I think it is because book 1, was made up of life thoughts and experiences. It was meant to be written. I needed to get down my beliefs and understanding about life and world generally down into paper between two covers.

Book 2 is made up of travel experiences in Russia and elements of Russian history, cults and a future prediction and where technology is leading us. It stills involves my hero Maya but she will be a new person, a new incarnation. Still a young woman on the road of self discovery but in a different time and culture. It will be closer to home though. There doesn't appear to be any travel after death as yet but who knows.

I'm a visual artist and like my art production, my writing is all very expressionistic. I don't over plan but let accident and the characters themselves appear as they like. They come and go, like being at a bus stop or railway station. Characters come and go from the stage, very similar to people in our lives.

If you want to see my painting process, take a look at

I hope your journey is going well. The one purpose of the journey is to learn like Maya in the first book!

Decision Making, positive and negative effects

'She, being totally omnipresent, was already aware of the situation. Her role was to act as a guide only, something She had never been called on to do in our existence in such a literal way because we had never had need to question anything before of such major importance.
This situation was completely new. All decisions were always based on creating the optimum positive outcome that would benefit all and this, under normal circumstances, in normal situations was purely instinctual and correct, but in this case, for the first time, having been given awareness of this external energy force, meant that we had to deal with something new, something alien and something that created……… a feeling, … a feeling of …..uneasiness, which in itself was an unknown sensation at the time.
She began her mind transference to the initiated.
{I have never dictated to you anything, this is not my purpose. You have achieved through your own personal choices since time forgotten, “The Right View”, in a time beyond memory when you had personal and social choices to make, they were the correct ones, and therefore you are completely independent to find the right path now, in this time, as you have done in your societies living memory…….} After a slight pause came the following,
{As I don’t dictate to you, I can’t tell you how to proceed, or to tell you the possible outcome of what may or may not occur although, I would like you to consider your choices carefully on this special occasion. I would like you to consider the two options you have before you with much thought.
In a very short space of time you have decided make contact with the source of this message, which at first could be considered to be the right action, a position I would have anticipated from you, with a view of offering aid to beings in trouble.
You also have the option of not taking any more steps towards further communication until you have attempted to gain more information about the senders, but the ultimate decision needs to be based on a conclusion that you alone reach for yourselves having seen a possible alternative scenario to the one you envision}.
(With absolute respect, Mother, how can this be an option?), interjected one of the Elders through the mind link.
{Because it is one!}, came the simple reply.
{I have never needed to speak to you directly about making optional choices. Now I ask you to take a moment longer to consider the possibility of choice. I will abide by your decision once it has been made. Should you wish to pursue contact, I will know. I will assist you in your search by unifying and attuning the thought waves of both parties. I will project you in the desired direction if this be your decision}. She continued,
{Search deep within yourselves. Look into the deepest places within, to find a new word, a new feeling in an ancient word from another place and time, made new for your time. For if you should desire to encounter the source of the transmission, the words ‘options’, ‘choices’ and ‘decisions’, will become words used with frequency, they will become familiar to you}'.

Within my book, 'I Maya", Maya's reality is a world where decisions need to be made but negative decisions don't exist, only decisions with more positive outcomes. It's a dimension higher than our own where the community understands co-existence with all its people and decisions are made to maximise a positive outcome for everyone.
Within our own reality in this time and place, decisions on international levels are generally made on acquiring the best outcomes for the decision maker and their immediate concerns, interests and/or allies. A decision in our world is made on a global level from those in positions of power. Economics generally control the outcome and can often wear the mask of a decision which is for the betterment of all while hidden agendas are normally in play that at there worst can lead to wars.
Within Maya's world, they have the direct contact with a Mother Goddess who is the ultimate power. She has the ultimate say but allows her charges to make decisions for themselves as she trusts their judgements will inevitably lead to better outcomes for all concerned.
Maya's world is about to be rocked by the advent of contact with Humans. From a world that knows nothing about negativity, the Mother Goddess feels now that she must make sure that they have thought carefully about making contact with the Humans. She knows what the Humans are capable of. So much positive potential that more than not ends in major global catastrophes. She would have the power to destroy but cannot hurt her charges. It has caused agony in Her heart for thousands of earth years. She attempts to leave beacons of light for the humans to follow but knows that it is their Karma and destiny that can lead to disaster. Maya's community were once in the human realm but have moved on to a slightly higher plain. A place we would call Utopia or Arcadia. The universal balance that has existed for eternity is about to be altered where two different dimensions are now about to collide. Like the early explorers about to enter the New World, Maya's reality is about to be changed forever and like a good parent, the Mother Goddess will attempt guide her children away from harms way but in the end she knows they are there own people, their own souls that will inevitably make there own decisions and will need to be responsible for their actions.

Positive verses Negative Thinking The eternal struggle from the individual to the global.

“This I began to realise, was a major difference between our two people. They placed more emphasis on the negative memories than their good memories. Another important observation was that the words we had in common were the positive ones. Father was beginning to find references in our ancient texts that made reference to the negative words they used, but these words with time, had been eliminated in our history. As yet, Father could not find any clue to why these negative words lost their function in our world, but I can say that, if we had found the meaning of these negative words at an earlier stage before they arrived, while the beings were still floating in space, we may have thought more about the word “choice “allowing us to think more deeply about the alternative that the Sacred Mother had asked us to consider. From my view, the impression I got from them was that they were people from a planet with great potential but for reasons explained shortly, they continually seemed to favour options that would only result in negative consequences”.

Over many millennium, the society Maya belongs to as eradicated negative words. With time and gradual evolution words specific to negative actions have been abandoned.
In their escape from their own planet Earth, the lifeforms are the last survivors from a world that annihilated itself through centuries of self harm and negative action. All negative actions have associated words as do positive ones.
What would happen if the negative words no longer existed and only words associated with positive action existed?
If there were no words for them, could the negative actions exist?
On its very basic level of explanation we need look no further than the promotion of the idea of ‘Positive Thinking’.
We know about the advantages of positive re-enforcement that leads to positive action.
We all have the power to bring about positive change individually in our own lives that create protective psychological attitudes.
Some people are naturally blessed with this capacity which allows them to overcome hardships from the everyday to the tragic situations that life can create, for example being a Holocaust survivor, taking you life back after a horrific accident etc. The people who survive these negative situations all have something in common. This positive underlying drive not to allow the negatives to win. It’s a mind game, a game we must play everyday.
It can be as simple as managing stressful situations with positive energy. Seeing the stress yet not allowing the stress to dominate and rule you. This can be done through positive affirmations, reciting positively charged sentences with literal meaning or through the energy of positive sound vibrations, via meditation or prayer.
Everyday we need to keep fuelling ourselves with the positive through which ever means works for you.
We need to become the Warrior within ourselves to constantly fight our internal battles with Demons we self generate.

A SENSE OF THE SACRED AND RITUALISTIC IN THE MATERIAL AGE.

‘On the chosen day, the Elders along with “The Seers”, the most spiritually advanced members of our various communities, materialized at the
“Sacred Place” known as ‘Rozabal’, the most Sacred Site for ceremonies that involved participation by “The Mother”.
After the evocation of various sacred sounds that took several hours, an ultimate peace and calm filled the valley. Like a calm before a storm, all fell silent, the birds, the wind, the trees. Gradually too, the voices and sounds softened from the surrounding plateau where the vast crowds had gathered to watch this sacred event from a distance. From where they gathered on the rim of the valley, the participants of the service were only mere specs on a sun-drenched plain, empty of any trees or plants, a small circular desert of sand, situated in an old crater that was used as an easy target, a place easily identifiable for incoming mind transport”.
After the cleansing of the space, the vibrations from the chanting entered the hearts and souls of everyone. The vibrations passed through the material bone, the liquids of water and blood, muscle tissue, etc. creating a physical super rapid vibration that purified all recipients. This was necessary to make an extremely large zone for clear transmissions of energy of a level that could power all the different worlds and heavenly states for eternity’.

Within this reading from the book ‘I Maya’, the people who live in Maya’s world posses a great sense of spirituality that is accessible to all its citizens.
It’s a unifying and and living force that brings the people together.
They evoke a sacred ritual to connect with their God.

A sense of sacredness and ritual are extremely important for all people.
Maya’s world is different from our own because there is only on spiritual reality for them. They don’t have the issues associated with different belief systems that are in constant collision with each other, belief systems attempting to dominate each other.

A sense of the sacred can be found and can be created and felt in any belief system that doesn’t aspire to murder or the destruction of cultures.
It needs to have a balanced outlook, not be fundamental, look at how diversity benefits all and is not a threating to others with different spiritual outlooks. It needs to live within the laws of nature allowing for future sustainability.

Belief systems are not necessarily dependent on having a God figure. As some examples, Atheism is a belief system; a belief in not having a God creator, nor having judgment by an external power. More traditional belief systems like Christianity or Islam in its softer more middle path outlooks, Paganism with a variety of different Gods within the natural world all are legitimate. This list can go on for eternity, as long as they remain creative, hold vision for positivity within the laws of nature and don’t attempt to dominate over another person’s ideas.

From an individual current perspective, there is now too much action for the personal self at the expense of all others leading to the infection of greed.
A sense of duty to family and to the community and the environment has gradually been eroded way. The instilling of good values to make better humans, are being replaced on individualism to the extreme. Good parenting is being replaced by parents not applying a sense of tradition or spirituality but allowing their children to fend for themselves leaving them empty from having food for the soul.
Many parents are now too involved in materialism which advocates the artificial concept that the more you have in monetary and material objects will inturn create the happiness and self-fulfilment they hunger, leaving the children without the holistic love they need from their parents.

Children are fed from brain-deadening, empty TV when they are young as sedation to allow parents time for themselves. Later it becomes the iPhones and computer games that take them away from creating stories from their own imaginations, creating a cycle of future parents who have lost communication skills and a loss of story telling about the past, leaving them without the skills to finding a true sense of their grounded and secure selves.

The cycle continues with parents who cannot communicate anymore with each other and lose the sense of loving commitment to each other.
In the fast food, fast fix culture, we live in now, we move from relationship to relationship in search for an artificial perfection we are told through the media exists, that perfect material life without understanding that life is imperfect, it is struggle and sacrifice especially for the children we create.

These parents pass on the responsibility of their children’s development to everyone else in the child’s life. It becomes the schools’ responsibility, to become the surrogate parents rather than the parents themselves and when the child has issues, it’s everyone else they blame when the child loses direction; they themselves are never to blame for the damage they have left behind in the form the empty souls they have created.

The void the children feel is replaced by the belief that what they see on the screens wether these be computer, television or cinema, is what reality should be. These are generally images of unobtainable perfection or role models that utilise violence to achieve their goals.
In new developments, negative forces in this world foster artificial realties and convince the vulnerable of warped versions of spiritual missions. While giving the child a sense of belonging they lacked from their busy parents, they are led to far off lands to destroy themselves and innocent others in deranged beliefs that fill the voids in their lonely souls.

In the United States we have disaffected children entering schools and murdering their fellow students and teachers.

From an Australian perspective, over hundreds of years we have attempted to annihilate indigenous culture that held all the positive elements of belief and spirituality I mentioned at the beginning.
Indigenous culture had the correct view; they allied themselves with nature and lived with her, they had their stories about creation, they had their medicine and unified culture within their local communities. They were full of spirit and a sense of self awareness.

From the perspective of the English, Irish and Scots who arrived in Australia in from the 1850’s, they were the dominant Anglo Saxons. This culture and their religion ruled from those early years to the conclusion of the second world war. From that point this culture has steadily been moulded by the ever powerful U.S.

The Australian Anglo Saxon culture is gradually eroding increasingly losing a sense of its own history. The Anglican church continues to shrink and the Monarchists are now a dying breed within Australia, but what is the replacement for this sector of the community? Anglo Australians which buys into the media feed will eventually give way to the more dominant cultures that hold stronger senses of themselves.
This is natural progression of a society that is a real working positive meting pot of multiculturalism.
The Asian cultures who have a sense of religious identity, a more communal outlook with respect for their elders and their link with the stories of the past. They are economically minded but know themselves through the link they have with their history. It’s when economic mindfulness alone becomes the driving force, leading to selfish greed, this is when the true problems commence.
These cultures will act to counter complete domination by U.S. culture in the Asia Pacific. China will be the new world leader. It will be Chinas turn to play world power.

There are wonderful contributions that the United States has made especially within the realms of Popular Culture but its emphasis on the material backed by Fundamental Christian values aid in creating the empty souls who cant compete with the finance interlocked with a political elite.

From U.S inspired gang culture, empty entertainment that has no educational value, and worst of all American Exceptionalism, the true belief that their way is the only way at the expense of all others.
Empires come and go, as stated this is part of evolution.
The Romans gave the common people, gladiatorial spectaculars, and threw bread at the mob to keep them happy and blinded to what was really happening in the power plays occurring behind the scenes with powerful politicians in the Forum. Unfortunately, we are becoming the hungry souls that are becoming blinded by the superficial being fed to us via politically controlled media.
As mentioned, our saviours will be the strong family orientated cultures with a sense of their own historical sense and spirituality while having a tireless work ethic.

In respect to our own indigenous culture, the guardians of this land for thousands of years, for the rest of Australian society to start to understand their respect and knowledge for this special land, our modern western culture may again develop a sense of its own responsibility, not just for love and respect of the individual, nor solely to our families but also to the wider community and environment. It may also begin to feed a new sense of spirit to a people who have starved themselves for so long, old timeless wisdom reborn for everyone’s future survival.

ALTERNATE THINKING: REFUGEES

‘The meeting of the Elders took place in the Auditoria in the Forum. Each Elder was given a chance to communicate their opinion about the occurrences; each listened intensely to all the views communicated. There was no sense of fear or uncertainty in their voices, for these feelings did not exist in our thinking at the time. We knew the idea of “Help”; this is something we attempt to manifest, that is, to be able to help others as much as possible. So, it was obvious the source of this message needed help, all that needed to be decided was, how could we help them? The atmosphere was more of excitement, almost like children anticipating a long awaited gift. It was something new and fantastic, something that would take us further along our path of positive evolution’. Page 17

Maya’s world is more progressive and more advanced that our own.
Her world is in union. The different regions of her world meet and discuss positive solutions to problems that may present themselves. The union is based on equality, of listening to each other. They address new situations from how it may positive outcomes from everyone without the hindrance of personal greed. It is a united world that is ready to assist anyone. In this case, humans from an earth they themselves destroyed, have set out on a hazardous journey travelling in a timeless dark and cold universe. There distress signal has been intercepted by Maya’s world who then examined ways of rescuing these refugees they know nothing about. Without the sense of fear of the unknown, the idea of helping others without question is the priority first.

In the Western world and the European Union, itself, the union is based on economics first and people second. Countries were clambering to be accepted by the union for economic benefit these countries may receive. Now these countries find themselves in a situation where they no longer appear as part of the union they so desperately wanted to be a part of. The fences have gone up, the tear gas has been brought out and people in desperate need are now no longer human but economic units.

Accepting all the refugees is going to cause great chaos and financial burden on the systems of these countries, there is no doubt about it, but the first priority needs to be aid first while attempting to look at long term solutions to extremely complicated issues. We cannot turn our eyes from what is happening and although it may cause anger and division, the consequences of further procrastination and delays in real unified decision making will have dire consequence for everyone concerned.

DUTY AND THE SACREDNESS OF WOMANHOOD

‘She gave Irfaan a big hug and gently kissed his forehead. He could feel a rush of heat energy pass through him. He felt a surge of love from Maya that made him feel for a moment, that he was the most important person in the world. He craved to be totally loved by her. That was the sensation she was creating in her followers without her being aware of it; the original form of love, in all its purity that stemmed from the Goddess Herself, transmitted to every mother at the birth of her child, a love now being nurtured between the Guru and her student’.

All fictional writing, like the theatre of life itself is as good as the relationships the author creates between the different characters while they undertake missions to complete their goals.
In the book, ‘I Maya’, much of the emphasis on relationships is based on the variety of different connections between man and woman and to some extent, how these relationships may operate.
Looking at Maya herself, she is a dutiful daughter to her parents, a dutiful sister to her adopted brother, a dutiful teacher and finally, a dutiful Goddess for all space and time. She becomes in the story a symbol of Womanhood to be worshipped.
Duty and the idea of sacrifice for others is an important component in human relationships. As a man living in a western culture, a culture that generally puts the individual first, I can see on a daily basis the deterioration of this important value especially in relationships with women.
The psyche of Western Man has deep rooted links to sustaining a subordinate view of women. This control factor was based traditionally on the reality of women being physically weaker in relation to muscular strength. This may have been relevant in the early days when lifting, and throwing spears for the hunting of food were required but in reality, I would argue that in terms of the more global interpretation of the word strength, women are generally stronger than men.
From our conception as men, we are part of the woman’s body. Women feed us with theirmilk; they support and nurture us mentally through traumas normally invoked by other men. They continue to offer men morale support during times of testing throughout their adult lives. Women also generally outlive men.
Through Tantric practises, and there are a variety of books etc. available on this subject, a man can once again connect with his duty to women, to the sacredness of her sex and its ultimate richness that can nurture them, and finally return the male sex to function at its fullest potential. The worship of the woman as Goddess within our own personal relationships in its variety of different forms can return the man to feeling once again complete. Without this sense of duty, we will continue to have broken homes, with broken children, with males who continue the cycle of creating empty boys, who will only know isolation and lack of purpose that can lead to violence.
To let go of always needing to expect something in return from our duty to our Goddess is to discover a bounty and richness of love not yet touched.

THE EVOLUTION FROM ORGANIC TO CYBER REALITY

Before the end, the humans had become removed from nature and became dependent on the fabrication of material objects. One mechanical creation in particular, played a major part in their Armageddon. An object called a ‘Computer’. In its infancy, this tool appeared to be a major asset to the Human Race. The transfer of information between people was able to occur very quickly leaving no borders or boundaries to separate people. It also allowed many options for entertainment. But with time the human’s dissatisfaction with the real world, gradually gave way to a merging of fact with fiction, where eventually, fiction became the reality for many people.

The human collective psyche, from the beginning of their ‘civilized’ societies, had ingrained in its subconscious, words like ‘Utopia’, and ‘Arcadia’, the word Arcadia itself, based on an idea inherited from the Greek civilisation, this dream for the perfect world would be the driving ambition of the humans throughout their history. It would appear that eventually they would seek the perfect world in the false idea that it could be gained by the acquisition of material objects, especially those which would take away the need for the humans to undertake physical tasks. Their search lay in the dream outside themselves when the road to the freedoms they sought, lay on looking within, not out. The answers to what they were seeking were always with them but they left themselves in search of what they already possessed.

In their search for Arcadia, the desire for more pleasure and less work time became an obsession. Just before the end came, millions of humans would opt for a world of ‘Virtual Pleasure’, where they could escape into a fantasy world of their own making. For pre-paid time, a person could choose to alleviate the pressures of the real world. The problem with this Virtual Reality World was that it was so attractive in comparison to the unsatisfying reality they had created for themselves that many people opted for longer periods of time away from their real environments, away from their responsibilities to work and to their families.

They began to reject the world that didn’t live up to its promises of a better planet to live in. Many people eventually became permanently addicted to the artificial world and would even pass, from life, without being aware that their material life had ended. The technology became so advanced, that the consciousness would just transfer from the biological, to the spiritual, but these spirits, would end up lost in virtual dream states, so its natural karmic passage was lost, with no escape, these souls would become lost in a dream within a dream. This was the infant technology that would later lead to experiments with more advanced and sophisticated applications.

This technology would be utilized years later for Deep Space Exploration, which led to the final escape of sixty humans, who would end up travelling through space on a journey that went beyond their mortal life spans. Before the advanced, controlled experiments were explored, these uncontrolled deaths resulted in many human souls being lost in the Bardo states, (the spaces between dimensions, where the soul searches for a new home), a place of non reality, a place that was not natural and could be infiltrated by evil forces that would be able to recruit souls, with promises of Paradise. I don’t wish to discuss these negative forces at this point, these negative forces being the very reason I am here now, running for my life. Computers also played their part in assisting in taking the humans further away from their organic, mental facilities. The humans had great potential to develop their Psychic Mind skills but more emphasis was placed on using the mind in mundane ways that wouldn’t maximize its potential.
More and more dependence was placed on their Super Computers until eventually; the computers were able to sustain themselves allowing the humans to now live in their Multi-Plex, Surround Sound Arcadias. They had found “Cyber Utopia”.

In this section of the book comes a warning about the potential for people to lose themselves within the Cyber World that is being developed and becoming ever more sophisticated.

Computers have assisted people who live in developed countries by taking them away from undertaking the strenuous physical tasks that once required masses of human muscle.

From using animals to take the strain of physical labour through to the present age that uses computers for example that reduce what were once large amounts of workers in car production plants, reducing those numbers now to a few computer operators who can now take a car along the full length of the production line.

Every more dependents on computers will continue to increase. We now are in the process of creating computers that think for themselves bypassing human input. Before too long, computers will be able to undertake all human tasks; they will be able to reproduce and maintain themselves.

With time the humans’ capacity to think for themselves will be reduced as we become completely dependent on computers for all bodily needs.

Without physical activity the body will continue down the road of obesity through lack of exercise. With time the body will become dysfunctional, leading to an existence in a mind state only; a consciousness whose evolution no longer requires a physical self for its sense of knowing.

No longer will we need organic reality for birth and death. Consciousness may well be eternal life.

We may already be existing in a form of cyberspace without even knowing it now. Our tunnel vision of reality may now become expanded upon by advanced developments in the awareness of mind linking with Super Computers who may manage the reality for us. It may be the we have options of reality that suits the client. Tailor made life for an eternity.

This may well be the reality of the Utopia that humans were looking for.

The secret nameless path

The secret nameless path
By rohanchalmersauthor
Once he regained his composure, he began to analyse what he had before him.

In Pali, not Tibetan, were the following words;

The secret nameless path

1 degree off the middle way

Left or right, a lateral focus

Introduces tension.

A subtle disturbing vibration

A subtle discord

Confronting the negative

Directly.

The possibility of resolution

A direct path to

Reality.

Failure equals

A negative union

For Eternity.

In this fragment from the story, Rinpoche has been given a clue; a piece of the jigsaw puzzle that will help him on his quest to find Maya.

When I was a child, I like many others, would dream of different worlds completely alien from our own. Places where the imagination could run wild.

As I got older and as I became more aware of the power of meditation, different mental experiences would occur that matured my concept of different places or worlds that may be able to be accessed, no longer through the physical limitations of travel but experiencing different possiblities through mind.

People have experimented with hallucinogenic, mind altering drugs for thousands of years to open different channels in the mind. These experiments are dangerous. These experiments could be compared to a non driver getting in a car, turning it on wearing a blindfold and accelerating without your hands on the wheel. The drugs may take you for a ride, but without having exercised the mind, without having learned to drive the car through lessons and passing the initiation, disaster is waiting to happen.

I am nowhere near understanding the fuller potentials of the mind, but I have had glimpses that have introduced me to what may be possible if we explore mind further. It’s not a question of re-inventing the wheel. Instruction has been developed over thousands of years.

Much focus on meditation is based on the search for the middle path.

Like the story of the sitar teacher who told his student if the string is too tight it will snap, if it’s too loose, this is of no use either. When the tension on the string is just write we can play beautiful music (this being my own modified adaption of the story), but the message is about balance, about finding the path through the valley, to travel along the path opened by the parting seas.

For the sake of the story, I have imagined a place of slight discord where the vibration isn’t melodic but slightly off key; This place being slightly off centre is an imaginary idea I have used to take the the characters to a place which exists in a different dimension, and in this case, a dark space.

It’s like walking along a path at night that’s well lit. Keep to the path and you will be ok; be curious and venture to either side into the darkness could be dangerous. In this story, the travel into dark space are journeys into hellish states.

Sometimes we need to pass through these places to earn our right of passage; to come out at the end as stronger people. For the main character Rinpoche to fail, is not just about personal danger but could have consequences for all dimensions wherever they may or may not be.

Liberation through Moderation

Many years before the final end, the economic powers that held the most influence, from a material perspective, belonged to what was termed the Eastern-Westernised developed world. They invented this classification themselves. It meant that they had acquired more useless material objects than people in other groups categorised as the third world, later to be called the developing world.

This change in terminology was meant to suggest that one day the developing world would grow economically to have as many useless objects as the others who already dominated the global economy.

This in fact was a false idea, because the Law of Maoist-Capitalism, which was the dominant system for the majority of humans, was based on the accumulation of as many useless objects as possible. It was also based on what I will now term the system of greed and possession, which required specific groups to always feel they had more objects than other less fortunate groups.

Also in the Maoist-Capitalist system, to accumulate objects required their production to be created in countries that had much less, so it was to the advantage of the developed world to have factories in places that accepted the least amount of payment and the least amount of health and safety requirements. The production of objects in these poorer countries meant that the local inhabitants were often exploited in many ways including the denial of certain human rights.

The African continent was the last place on Earth that was denied any kind of equal development. This continent, which was vast, had no more than five democratically elected leaders at any time in the last two hundred years of earth’s history. The remaining countries on this continent continually succumbed to tribal warfare among clans, economic ruin by dictators that ruled for their entire lives, or to natural disasters such as droughts and famine.

The Maoist-Capitalist countries developed the “the pact of the silent,” whereby they secretly agreed to keep Africa in perpetual poverty and chaos, allowing their inhabitants to believe their condition would one day improve by providing them with false hope of one day having better conditions. They were offered token gestures of small amounts of aid, while deliberately keeping them desperate and hungry with limited useless products, which guaranteed a readily enthusiastic workforce that was also expendable.

In this part of the story, Maya is writing down her thoughts which can also be heard by the Buddhist monk during his meditations. He will shortly be embarking on his mission to find her.

In her writings, she reflects on a conversation she had with Luke, one of the last survivors who escaped the planet called Earth before its destruction.

The story of the last years of Earth’s story revolves around a combined economic power made up of China and what remained of the Western powers.
China is the generator of most of the worlds production of material products.

Maya refers to these products with the one sweeping title, ‘useless products’ This term was used by Luke for which he meant the mass accumulation of material objects which became an infection that led to selfishness and greed.

Over consumption in its many forms becomes addiction if not regulated. Self regulation is hard to monitor especially while being bombarded constantly by material products which always promise a better life. The companies who produce these products are all to aware that the faster they create updated versions, the hungry consumers who are now addicts and under the control of the companies, will purchase them to feed their craving emptiness.

The developing countries are the new markets undergoing the transition to material addiction.
In these countries, the companies are able to produce the products assembled by workers who have very little in terms of material wealth. Having their chemical and high tech zones in these countries, the companies are able to short cut costly production costs in their own countries while creating in the workers the hunger for the products they are producing.

In the short term, all looks well economically and yes, oneday they may well achieve financial gain, this is well and good on one hand if it means access to better schools, health care systems, clean water and more nutritious food.

When we look at our ‘developed’ countries, can we honestly say that education is of a high level? Do we have access to cheap and affordable health care? Is our food that contains chemicals, modified genetics and saturated fats safer than food from the past?

Have we grown closer together as societies, have we become stronger families, have we gained a better understanding of our spiritual selves or have our material pressures from sustaining what we have materially while wanting to accumulate more taken us further away from each other?

The global commercial and economic systems are now due for revision and modification to allow for a more equal playing field for all Earth’s inhabitants. The idea of the limitless material consumer has taken its toll on the human spirit and the natural environment.
The end price we all pay for this current system, is a loss of identity, family, cultural identity and spiritual awareness.

We are all being groomed by the companies, to live a certain lifestyle that they dictate. Eventually our idea of individuality will be one that has been sold to us from a range on offer created by corporations.

Once again, it comes down to a balanced perspective; a meeting place where all minds, all cultures, all religions etc can meet. The middle path is the only option. A way needs to be found where having enough becomes measurable and equal.

Extremism has always failed. Extremism in all its ugly guises, those being for example, political or religious have never worked. The world tried the poles of Communism on on side and extreme Capitalism on the other. Capitalism as we can see now is beginning to crumble. The gradual disintegration of the current Empire is dissolving. It’s now time to start to re-evaluate where we are heading.

It cant be left to the politicians who have proven themselves to be puppets of the corporations who oil their wheels or to the dictators who attempt to crush the human soul.

I would have liked the character of Maya to have been telling the reader a different story but from our current position in time, her writing may echo elements of our future reality.
