Schulze: India, Germany and ultimately the world will benefit from India’s renewable energy boom.

Home

See alsoTwo rows of motorcycle taxis line a street in Delhi, India.

Press Release, September 15, 2024 | Development Minister Svenja Schulze will today embark on a three-day trip to Gujarat in western India, where she will represent Germany as a guest country at one of the largest investor conferences on renewable energy. Around 25,000 participants are expected. Schulze will be accompanied by a business delegation of around 20 representatives from the renewable energy sector. As part of the conference, Schulze will discuss close cooperation with the Indian government in expanding renewable energy. India is a key country in the global energy transition and wants to become the world’s second-largest solar producer.

Minister of Development Schulze: “The German-Indian cooperation on the energy transition is a success story for everyone involved. The world’s most populous country is on the verge of a renewable energy boom and wants to become the second-largest producer of solar power systems after China. This is primarily good for India itself. It can provide renewable energy at very low prices, create millions of new jobs, and contribute to cleaner air and a more stable climate. Germany is also benefiting from this boom. German companies are investing in India, associations are working on skilled workforce exchanges, and German importers are finally securing an alternative to solar power systems from China in the medium term. Ultimately, if the energy transition succeeds in India, the whole world wins. Climate change can only be stopped if more and more of India’s 1.4 billion people get their electricity from wind and sun.”

Germany and India share a strategic partnership for green and sustainable development, which was agreed upon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chancellor Olaf Scholz in 2022. As part of this cooperation, there is also the idea of a renewable energy investment conference RE-INVEST. (External link) Germany has been chosen as the guest of honor. Hosted by the Indian Ministry of Renewable Energy, “RE-INVEST” is a trade fair and a professional conference with high-level participation from business and politics. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to open the meeting on Monday morning. Around 25,000 people, mainly business representatives, are expected to attend. The German business delegation includes 20 German SMEs and renewable energy sector associations.

Minister Schulze met with Shri Pralhad Joshi, Minister of State for Renewable Energy of India, at the meeting.India-Germany Platform for Global Renewable Energy Investments” Start. Their goal is to bring together German and Indian companies in the renewable energy sector and generate investments in the global energy transition. Today, renewable energy capacity in India and Germany is at a similar level. India is expected to increase its expansion significantly in the future. The world’s largest solar power plant is being built in Gujarat. This is one reason why German companies are increasingly looking at India as a hub for Asian investments. More than 2,000 German companies are already based in India. Around 200 German companies in the energy sector have trade relations with India and 50 have established production facilities or subsidiaries in India.

India’s commitment is also relevant to Germany’s energy security. China wants to become the world’s second largest producer of solar power systems and is positioning itself in global competition with China. Currently, Germany is the only country that can service the entire solar supply chain with China, so India is looking for closer cooperation. Germany and the world benefit when there are more suppliers in the market and energy supply is not dependent on individual countries.

The German-Indian sustainability cooperation involves projects worth around €1 billion per year, more than 90 percent of which are provided in the form of loans. KfW The development bank takes the capital market and India pays the interest. The exact sectors in which India will invest will be agreed upon in government negotiations held after the meeting. India itself is keen on climate protection as it suffers from heatwaves exceeding 50 degrees Celsius.

Schultz: “The German Federal Ministry for Development has been supporting the development of the renewable energy market in India for many years and has ensured better investment conditions. German companies have benefited from this good reputation and these investments and continue to do so. This also shows the great interest of German companies in this conference.”

The situation in many places is dramatic. It is most dramatic here in the Kłodzko Valley, Ustronie Śląskie and Lądek – said the Prime Minister.

Some residents ignore the level of danger and refuse to evacuate. I would like to reiterate once again on behalf of all services that whenever there is a request to evacuate, the recommendation must be followed. – emphasized Donald Tusk.

This weather situation means that whenever there is an opportunity to evacuate, it is worth taking advantage of it, as something could happen at any moment that makes evacuation difficult. – explained the Prime Minister.

The head of government stressed that there were power cuts in many places. At the moment we have no way to quickly repair these faults, so the firefighters are organizing the supply of generators where necessary, but there is no point in fooling ourselves – this electricity will not be available everywhere. – he pointed.

It is similar in the case of telecommunications. We decided to use Starlinks. This will also not be widely available. It will allow this basic communication in many places where there is no communication. This should also facilitate possible relief actions – added Donald Tusk.

He noted that the situation with reservoirs in the Kłodzko district is serious. There were rumors that the dam in Międzygórze would not hold, but they are not true. It should be able to hold, we have no information that it will not. It leaks, but there should not be any fundamental drama – he said.

We have the first confirmed death by drowning in the Kłodzko district – emphasized the head of government.

The first Black Hawk arrives in Wrocław. It will be equipped with rescue systems. LPR helicopters will also be available. We hope that there will be no such need, but we want to be prepared for such an eventuality. – he pointed.

The head of government stressed that 1.6 thousand people were evacuated in the Kłodzko district. people. We expect more evacuations. – he said.

Harris says he’s different from Biden because ‘I’m offering a new generation of leadership’

Home

WASHINGTON (AP) – Vice President Kamala Harris, who is presenting herself as a candidate for change in her run for president against Republican Donald Trump, said Friday that she is different from President Joe Biden because she offers “a new generation of leadership.”

In his first televised interview since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, Harris also criticized the “hate and division that we see coming from Donald Trump” and said he thinks people are “exhausted” by his leadership style.

He also said he’s a gun owner and doesn’t want to take away anyone’s guns, but believes a ban on assault-style weapons is necessary and consistent with the Second Amendment.

Anchor Brian Taff of WPVI-TV in Philadelphia asked Harris to describe one or two areas in which he differs from the president.

“Well, of course I’m not Joe Biden” and “I’m offering a new generation of leadership,” Harris said, adding that things that have been taken for granted can no longer be ignored.

“For example, my second plan, which is a new approach, is to expand the child tax credit to $6,000 for young families for the first year of their child’s life, because it’s obviously a very critical stage in a child’s development, so the approach is based on new ideas, new policies that are targeted at this time,” he said. “And also, to be very honest with you, I’m very much focused on what we need to do in the next 10, 20 years to catch up to the 21st century around capacity, but also around challenges.”

The interview was conducted in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, while Harris was campaigning there on Friday.

Trump, his running mate Sen. JD Vance and other Republicans have criticized Harris for largely avoiding media interviews or interacting with reporters covering his campaign events. He and his running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, gave a joint interview to CNN last month. His campaign recently said he would begin doing more local interviews, and the National Association of Black Journalists announced Friday that some of its members will interview Harris on Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Harris used a question about the former president’s appeal and how he would speak to his supporters to criticize Trump and his leadership style.

“I also think I know correctly that most Americans want a leader who brings us together as Americans, not one who claims to be a leader who tries to get us to point fingers at each other,” he said.

The vice president suggested that his support from Republican officials, including former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney, is the result of people being “tired” of Trump.

“I think people are more willing now, in light of the anger and division that Donald Trump has caused, to say, ‘Hey, let’s put the country first,’ and I think that’s only going to make us stronger and healthier as a country,” he said.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

The vice president, 59, is a former San Francisco district attorney, California attorney general and U.S. senator. He offered a few answers when asked to share one thing he’d like people to know about him that they don’t already.

“It’s probably not that different from what anyone’s looking at right now,” he said. “I love my family. One of my favorite things that I haven’t been able to do lately is Sunday family dinner. I love to cook.”

Harris also said her best friend from kindergarten “is still my best friend.”

Julia Żugaj who is dancing with the stars

Home

Julia Zugaj He has 3.8 million followers on TikTok alone, 1.3 million on Instagram, and 556,000 on YouTube. subscribers.

Although she has been building her media career for at least several years, she is only now entering the “premier league” of influencers. This is thanks to “Dancing with the Stars”, in which the 24-year-old has become a participant. He will make his debut on the dance floor on Sunday, when Polsat will air the first episode of the new edition of the show.

Julia Żugaj leaves Team X

Żugaj built her career in Team X, a group of young influencers, now infamous for the Pandora Gate scandal. After parting ways with Team X, Żugaj continued her career not only as an internet creator, but also as a singer – she released several singles that are popular among her young fans.

Already in 2019, the influencer had already won her first advertising contracts (LG, Always). However, she became more famous in the national media in March of this year due to the “greetings scandal”. What was it? The influencer allegedly broke her own rules for greeting fans from the camps. A recording appeared online in which Julia Żugaj greeted a fan who was absent from her camp. This caused a huge storm in the “Żugajki” fandom, for which she later had to explain herself in the media.

“The video that most people probably saw was literally 30 seconds long. This TikTok meet and greet was a class dedicated to just photos,” the influencer told Plejada.

Another wave of interest was brought to the creator… Robert Lewandowski. The Polish national team’s striker received a question from “Fakt” during the pre-match press conference. “Robert, your form has clearly improved lately. I would like to ask if this has anything to do with the meeting with Julia Żugaj and whether you became a Żugaj after that meeting.” Lewandowski just laughed and half of Poland started asking who this young lady was. The question probably referred to the advertising campaign of the national team’s sponsor, of which Julia Żugaj was the face.

“A meticulously constructed image”

What makes Julia Żugaj stand out from other influencers?

– Firstly, she is authentic and manages to establish close contact with her followers. A positive and energetic personality attracts young people who identify with her. It is not associated with any media scandals or crazy fighting federations. – just like her colleagues from Team X – explains Paulina Stępień, Co-CEO of PR agency AP Communication, to the Wirtualnemedia.pl portal. – Young people are also tired of influencers who are “out of touch with reality” and do not share their values. And I think this carefully constructed image brought her to Dancing with the Stars, which will only increase her popularity – adds the expert.

– Hers The phenomenon results from the fact that the creator does not try to force herself to reach everyone and records material that appeals to people of all ages, but is aimed at specific audiences. Thanks to this, she carries out activities that build loyalty in this group, and the “Żugajki” group is active and involved in its work – explains the popularity of the young star, Angelika Wysocka-Zaręba, marketing manager of the LifeTube agency.

According to the expert, the key to understanding Julia Żugaj’s career is consistency in her actions.

– I think her popularity is perfect proof that if you know your audience well, a creator can manage their career more consciously. Julia Żugaj is an example of a creator who has her own style and personality and continues to follow her chosen path. This seems like a simple recipe for success, but it is not necessarily used successfully by everyone in this industry. Today, we see more and more influencers who want to please everyone, especially brands, which paradoxically reduces their effectiveness and credibility – Angelika Wysocka-Zaręba tells us.

To look: Ibisz, Margaret, Żugaj, Blowek and Janiak in the OLX campaign

A strong personal brand Żugaj

Paulina Stępień highlights that Żugaj already has a strong personal brand, and this is a strong card in negotiations with advertisers.

– I see that Julia is steadily building her career, which means that brands have to fight for her attention. Like many influencers of a similar scale, she can choose only the largest brands or develop her own business projects. As a result, smaller brands may have difficulty establishing cooperation if their offer is not consistent with their image and professional goals – the founder of the AP Communication agency analyzes for Wirtualnemedia.pl.

According to Angelika Wysocka-Zaręba, when talking about Julia Żugaj’s marketing potential, one cannot ignore the way she approaches the issue of responsibility towards her very young audience. These are also conscious decisions.

– In my opinion, Julia Żugaj has been very conscious of her career and development since the beginning of her online activity. She defined her target audience right from the start, which allows her to create content and products that are more tailored to them. She also knows that being an idol for younger audiences comes with a lot of responsibility. Of course, in her activities she rightly avoids controversy and tries to set a good example for children and teenagers. – a LifeTube marketing manager comments to Wirtualnemedia.pl.

The university, its student union and Asta are urging landlords to rent out living spaces to students at a low cost. “When the winter semester begins, thousands of young people from all over the world will begin their studies in Bonn. Then, as every year, the urgent question arises of an affordable roof over their heads, especially for international students,” the initiators said on Friday. The appeal is “to rent out rooms and apartments to students or to allow tenants to sublet them at a low cost to students during the semester.”

Service time counted again. The revolution is coming [ZASADY]

Home

– Not including periods of employment under a mandate or sole proprietorship in the length of service is a real injustice. At the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, we want equal opportunities in accessing workers’ rights, said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk during the last session of the Sejm.

As stated in the justification for the project, in the current legal situation there are no uniform rules for determining seniority for the purposes of determining all workers’ rights arising from the employment relationship and access to specific positions.

Twitter post is loading

“The lack of generally applicable regulations on the principles for determining seniority raises significant doubts in practice and, in many cases, leads employers to determine seniority solely on the basis of periods of employment based on employment and service relationships. It should be noted that in the current realities of the labour market in Poland, work of the same type is carried out on the basis of different legal relations and in different forms, which often results directly from legal provisions. (for example, a legal consultant can exercise his profession in an employment relationship, civil law relationships, management of an individual company or as a partner in a partnership)”, explains the ministry.

How will seniority be calculated after the change in regulations?

The Ministry has drawn up regulations that expand the list of periods of professional activity that will be included in the length of service. These, as we read on the Ministry’s website, include:

periods of non-agricultural activity;periods of cooperation with the person running the business;the period of suspension of business activity of a person who runs a non-agricultural business to provide personal care for a child;periods of execution of the mandate or service provision contractagency contract and period of stay as a collaborator; period of stay as a member of an agricultural production cooperative and an agricultural means cooperative;the draft stipulates that seniority will include certain periods of non-subjectness to social security provided for in specific provisions, which are related to the performance of work or activity that generally constitutes a right to social security (for example, the performance of work under a service contract by secondary school students or students up to the age of 26).

How will you need to document your work experience? As stated in the essence of the solutions provided for in the project, it was assumed that the periods mentioned will be proven by a certificate issued by the Social Security Institution, the object of which will be the subject of social security in the aforementioned titles or not, being subject to social security in the cases provided for in specific regulations.

Service time recalculated – from when?

As indicated by the Ministry of Labor, it is assumed that the current regulations that provide for new rules for calculating service time will be implemented. were in force from January 1, 2026. The aim of the new regulations is to provide wider access to longer holiday leave, jubilee bonuses and traineeship allowances.

Currently, the term of office contract or the period of management of a company are not included in the length of service.

The tri-fold Huawei Mate XT next to the Galaxy Z Fold6 really puts things into perspective

Home

Huawei has just launched the world’s first tri-foldable smartphone – the Mate XT Ultimate. It consists of three parts. And yet, even taking into account all these elements and three panels, when folded, the device is almost as thick as the latest Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 model.

The photo below shared on Reddit today says more than a thousand words.

The tri-fold Huawei Mate XT next to the Galaxy Z Fold6 really puts things into perspective

On paper, the situation looks like this: the Mate XT is 12.8mm thick, while the Fold6 is 12.1mm thick, so – on paper – Samsung is winning this war.

But – just look at the image above. 0.7mm is an almost imperceptible difference to the human eye. And then there’s the fact that Huawei consists of three! Its screen is 10.2 inches, compared to the Fold6’s foldable display of 7.6 inches. It’s just no comparison.

Here’s what’s going to happen in the comments. Samsung fans will insist that the Korean company is much more meticulous about sturdiness and durability when it comes to foldable devices, which is why it seems like its last innovation in this area was actually the original Galaxy Fold from 2019. It spent all that time tweaking the little things, making sure every detail of its foldable devices is perfect.

The second camp will point out that Samsung’s foldables have looked the same for years, that they’ve only made minor improvements each year, and that most of those improvements are really Samsung (very slowly) fixing a problem it created (the narrow folded format). Chinese smartphone makers like Huawei with its tri-fold and Honor with its Magic V3 (and how thin that smartphone is) have recently become true innovators in this space.

So let’s get to it! People on the aforementioned Reddit thread have definitely been discussing this topic a lot.

“It breaks your heart, your spine”

Home

New Delhi:

Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, whose latest offering IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack has impressed fans and critics alike, has finally opened up about the failure of his last two releases – Anek and Bheed. In a recent interview with The Indian Express, the director said that he was depressed after his films did not perform as expected. “It almost discourages you from making more films. It breaks your heart, it breaks your spine. You lose confidence. You’re almost encouraged not to make the film again. But then something else convinces you enough to do it again, and then you look back and say, ‘No, that it’s not a big deal, it’s okay”.

“I had three hits in a row and then I had two films that didn’t work and those were also strange times and I did a dark film (Bheed) about the Corona tragedy and in black and white it didn’t work. It’s okay. As long as you don’t feel ashamed of your film, as long as the people who participated in that film with you are not ashamed, you take it in your own way. When you read or write history, you turn the page and you’re over a decade into the history of filmmaking, so don’t take yourself so seriously,” about the success of IC 814: The Kandahar enjoyed by the filmmaker.

Anubhav Sinha also claimed that if “you do 10 films and if you end up doing five films that are hits, you’re doing pretty well.”

Anek was released in theaters in May 2022 and Bheed in 2023, starring the likes of Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar.
