Simu Liu Says Marvel’s ‘Shang-Chi’ Sequel Keeps Getting Pushed Back

Simu Liu recently took to social media to share an update on the Shang-Chi sequel, which is currently in development.

The actor posted on his Threads account, a new social media app that launched Wednesday, telling fans to ask him anything. One fan responded, asking for a status update on the highly-anticipated sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

“Was told it would follow Avengers,” Liu, who starred in the lead role in the 2021 Marvel film, said. “But that keeps pushing back due to circumstances beyond my control.”

Related Stories

Although he didn’t give details on what those “circumstances” are, Disney has recently made changes to its release calendar, including pushing back Avengers: Secret Wars to May 7, 2027. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which has embattled Jonathan Majors attached to the lead role, has also been pushed a year to May 1, 2026. Majors is currently facing assault charges in New York.

Several other Marvel projects have also been delayed due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, including Thunderbolts and Blade.

Liu added in his post that he hopes “to have more concrete news to share soon.”

In December 2021, it was revealed that Destin Daniel Cretton would be returning to write and direct Shang-Chi 2, as well as signing an overall deal with Marvel amid the first film’s success.

“Working on Shang-Chi with Kevin [Feige] and the Marvel Studios team was one of the highlights of my life, and I couldn’t be more excited about Tara’s vision for Onyx Collective,” Cretton said at the time the sequel was announced. “I can’t wait to explore new stories & build new worlds with this community.”

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which was the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to feature an Asian lead and predominantly Asian cast, went on to gross $432 million worldwide once it hit theaters in September 2021.

While Liu has taken on other projects since making his MCU debut, including starring in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Barbie film, the actor teased earlier this year that fans could soon see his Marvel character interacting with other major superheroes in another film.

Although he didn’t reveal which movie, he added, “Who knows, they might see something sooner than you think. We’ll see.”

Lincoln Center hosts 500 couples in free, mass ‘wedding’ party

They were feeling the love at Lincoln Center, as nearly 1,000 people turned out for a party celebrating all things matrimonial.

Dubbed “New York’s Biggest Day,” the event is part of Lincoln Center’s “Summer for the City” program, which offers hundreds of free, festival-type affairs — including Saturday’s second annual mass “wedding” for about 500 couples.

No one legally tied the knot during the festivities hosted by comedian Murray Hill, but smitten guests were guided through a variety of multi-cultural, love-themed blessings and messages from a Sikh, a Korean Shaman and others in David Geffen Hall, prompting some to treat the day as a way to properly revisit their “I dos.”

“I promised him a big wedding 12 years ago and that has yet to happen,” Archley Prudent, 67, said of his spouse.

Prudent and his husband, Hugh Gallagher-Prudent, of Woodside, Queens, were hastily wed in a City Hall ceremony soon after gay marriage was legalized 12 years ago.

So the Irish-kilt-clad couple made their way to Lincoln Center for a “do-over,” and even bought a new wedding ring for Gallagher-Prudent to mark the day.

Maureen and Richard Carruthers tied the knot 52 years ago, but were eager to bask in the romance of the day.

“We have our fights – everyone has their fights,” Maureen, 76, admitted.

Regardless, “It’s been wonderful,” said Richard, 77, adding, “and I am looking forward to renewing my vows tonight…I’m a lucky man.”

“New York’s Biggest Day” was first held in July 2022 as a way to honor the weddings disrupted by the pandemic, according to Shanta Thake, Lincoln Center’s chief artistic officer.

“Coming out of COVID, we were thinking about all of the rituals that we lost out on as a community…Weddings were at the top of the list, of course, as people had canceled so many weddings, so we thought it would be fun to throw a dream wedding for as many people as possible,” Thake explained.

At least one woman was hoping her partner would be inspired by the Lincoln Center lovefest.

“I’m hoping he’s going to propose soon,” said Upper West Sider Riana Erickson, 27, who attended with boyfriend of eight years John Grenham, nudging him as she quipped, “We wanted to practice getting married.”

“I just need time to formulate an idea [of how to propose]. But in the meantime, maybe this will keep the love alive – not that it’s going anywhere,” Grenham, 26, assured her.

Harrison Ford Feels Very Differently About Snakes Than Indiana Jones

Some of you may remember the eye-opening, star-studded Showtime series “Years of Living Dangerously” that featured first-hand accounts about the effects of climate change. Celebrity correspondents including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matt Damon, and Jessica Alba all traveled around the glove to see the effects of global warming firsthand.

Ford also appeared in the docuseries, and used his considerable star power to help promote the show during an AMA (Ask Me Anything) Q&A on Reddit. When the questions weren’t centered around the potential global catastrophe we’re all facing, the discussion naturally turned to whether or not Ford was really afraid of snakes in real life. Surprisingly, Ford had this to say:

“I actually like snakes! When I was young, I was a boy scout nature camp counselor, and one of our projects was collecting snakes and creating an environment for them, so I’m quite familiar with snakes and think they’r[e] fantastic creatures.”

Ford’s actual love of snakes aside, his boyhood experience as a boy scout inspired the thrilling circus train opening in “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” showcasing River Phoenix as a young Indy. Falling victim to his ophidiophobia once again in “Dial of Destiny,” Indy encounters a bed of eels as he and his companions dive into the sea to find the other half of the Antikythera — an Ancient Greek calculator that actually existed.

In the scene, Indy tries to convince himself that the eels don’t really resemble snakes at all, making for one of the best callbacks in “Dial of Destiny” that doesn’t feel overly forced or ham-handed. His fear of snakes encompasses everything we love about the character, and knowing that Ford himself isn’t really phased by them at all adds another layer to what’s arguably the most memorable scene in the entire franchise.

Jonah Hill’s ex accuses him of ‘emotional abuse,’ gaslighting when they were together: ‘Misogynist narcissist’

Jonah Hill’s ex-girlfriend, Sarah Brady, accused the 39-year-old actor of “emotional abuse” in a series of posts on her Instagram story this weekend.

“This is a warning to all girls,” Brady, 26, wrote in one of several Story posts. “If your partner is talking to you like this, make an exit plan. Call me if you need an ear.”

The post included an alleged text exchange between the former couple in which the surfer was agreeing to take down any social photos she’d posted of herself that made him uncomfortable, including any of her “in a bathing suit surfing or not” or any with her “a– in a thong.”

“Not a thong but k,” she replied about her surfing apparel.

JONAH HILL WON’T PROMOTE HIS FILMS ANYMORE TO PREVENT PANIC ATTACKS, WORK ON HIS MENTAL HEALTH

In another post, she wrote that while she struggles with mental health along with him — which Hill has been public about in the past — “I do not use it to control ppl like he did to me.”

She added, “it’s been a year of healing & growth with the help of loved ones and doctors to get back to living my life without guilt, shame, and self-judgment for things as small as swimming in a swimsuit rather than a more conservative wetsuit. And I’m sure there’s still much more healing from this abuse ahead of me.”

She explained in another post that she made the decision to share what she went through publicly because staying silent was more damaging to her mental health than “sharing it could ever do.”

‘YOU PEOPLE’ ACTOR EXPOSES POTENTIAL FAKE KISS BETWEEN JONAH HILL AND LAUREN LONDON

She captioned another post — with a screenshot of the “You People” actor accusing her of “using” him by not realizing how “super nice” and “lovely” he was to her during their relationship — “gaslight much?”

Another alleged screenshot showed Hill telling her his “boundaries” “plain and simple” were if she needed to “surf with men,” “have bounadryless [sic], inappropriate friendships with men,” “model,” post pictures of herself in a bathing suit or “sexual” photos, or have friendships with “unstable” women and women from her “wild recent past,” then he wasn’t “the right partner for” her.

“Understood,” she answered. “I don’t need or want: Surfing with men without you there unless they are trusted close friends (mutually agreed upon), boundaryless [sic] inappropriate friendships with men, to model, to post pictures of myself in a bathing suit for the next year unless it is a tasteful (likely surfing) photo you have pre-approved, to post sexual pictures, friendships with unstable women from my recent past beyond getting a lunch or coffee or something respectful.”

She explained after she shared the exchange that she had agreed to his terms to protect “him from crippling anxiety.”

She responded to another text exchange in which the “Superbad” actor said he felt they couldn’t do “surf social things” together without him feeling “defective” and “not good enough” around her by telling him he needs to “consider her” feelings before they can “build trust.”

In another screenshot, she pointed out to him that while he’s an actor who sometimes kisses “gorgeous” women for his work, she’s not jealous because she trusts him and believes he’ll be “professional.”

Brady said her “one wish” for Hill would be that he’s surrounded “by feminist men who can hold him accountable to grow in the ways he has expressed he wants to.”

She added that being “emotionally abusive” doesn’t mean someone’s a “terrible person” and often stems from their “own trauma.”

“At the same time it doesn’t mean it’s ok,” she added.

The 26-year-old explained that their relationship, which lasted from 2021-2022, “ended pretty quickly” after she told him she wouldn’t turn down a job offer from Roxy or Vans for him.

She also reposted several of the surfing/swimsuit photos she had allegedly taken down at his request, captioning one of her in a crop top and skirt: “reviving a pic I took down by request of a misogynist narcissist.”

Disney Wouldn’t Let The Bear Drop Live Rats Onto Cousin Richie’s Head

There’s an old adage in show business: “Never work with children or animals.” Of course, this hasn’t stopped a myriad of productions from doing so, but the idea is that they are completely unpredictable beings who can make work unnecessarily complicated and stressful. Even with animal trainers and child wranglers, they can cause serious production headaches. Speaking with Variety, Ebon Moss-Bachrach said he believed this to be the reason why Disney wasn’t too keen on his idea for the ceiling gag in episode 2:

“I thought it would be funny to have a bunch of live rats rain on me and then scurry away. I thought that would be really scandalous and incredible. And they told me that they ran it up the pole at Disney, and that Disney said they didn’t want to work with live animals.”

As far as working with live animals, I’m not sure how safe this stunt would be for the rats. Not only are working with animals a pain, but you also have to make sure that they don’t get injured or mistreated. So, that was the stated reason that was given as to why it didn’t happen, but Moss-Bachrach thinks there’s possibly more to the story:

“But I also wonder if maybe they didn’t do that, and they just told me they did and didn’t like my idea. Or maybe they did, but rats and Disney — with Mickey Mouse — is not something they’re interested in entertaining.”

He considers this “a low- to mid-level conspiracy theory,” but I think it’s a bit far-fetched. After all, they released a little film called “Ratatouille.” The gag still works great without the rats, and they were saved any potential production problems. Maybe Richie can have a more sensible rat interaction in the future.

Rebecca Ferguson Promises That Dune: Part Two Won’t Take The Easy Route

Once “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One,” “Barbie,” and “Oppenheimer,” are out the way, “Dune: Part Two” will have its turn at bringing out audiences to the multiplex. And with all the talk of how the first movie was basically scene-setting for the extravaganza of a second installment, it very well could be a bigger hit than its predecessor.

It doesn’t hurt that Rebecca Ferguson, who plays Paul Atreides’ mother, Lady Jessica, is talking about the film as if it’s going to redefine movie-making. The star of Apple TV+’s post-apocalyptic neo-noir “Silo,” recently spoke to Collider about “Dune: Part Two,” saying:

“It’s so f***ing good. I get emotional talking about it because I love Denis [Villeneuve] and I love Greig [Fraser, cinematographer] and I love the team. But dude, number one is phenomenal and big and grandiose, and then you go close-ups and the imagery and the acting. Yeah, it’s all great. It’s f***ing nothing compared to number two. Number two, it’s like a f***ing gut punch. It’s unreal.”

Hey, if the number of “f***s” is any indication, we’re in for a wild ride with “Dune: Part Two.” After talking in such grandiose terms, however, Ferguson did admit she hasn’t “seen the film,” so this is all based on her having read the script, seeing some of the footage, and obviously acting in her scenes.

Still, that should have given her a pretty comprehensive idea of how things are going to play out in the “Dune” follow-up (it’s definitely not a sequel, according to Villeneuve), especially since she admitted visiting the set when she wasn’t filming just to “see the setups.” The actor also witnessed new cast additions Austin Butler and Christopher Walker doing their thing — all of which Ferguson claimed was “unbelievable” and “unreal.”

Guardians Of The Galaxy 3’s New Bowie Ship Design Was Inspired A Circular Saw

Circular designs make sense in space. Because you basically cannot leave the ship, having a design where everything connects to everything else is a natural solution to maximizing efficiency floating through the cosmos. Speaking with Nerds & Beyond, production designer Beth Mickle, who started working with James Gunn on “The Suicide Squad,” details how circles determined just about everything about the Bowie’s design:

“If you look at the shape of the Bowie, you can actually really see it’s very circular. Behind the whole pilot deck is circular. That really informed the interior spaces. The med bay where we spend most of the time with Rocket, that’s a big circular space, the central core is a big circular space, the spiral staircase … that really drove a lot of the interior designs. Then you get the nice, iconic shot looking down the long hallways, which are all big and circular in nature. We really took the circular theme and ran with it.”

These were not purely aesthetic reasons though. A set can only be great if it is designed in conjunction with how the filmmakers want to shoot the project. Gunn wanted a free-flowing set, and putting it together Mickle “wanted to make sure that all the spaces really connected so that the actors could all go from one space to another to the next in dialogue scenes with long walks, tracking shots, following actors … same with some of the big fight scenes and choreographed scenes in the ship.”

Being able to seamlessly move from one space to another does so much to convey that what you’re seeing is real, because it is. There’s a believable life to be lived on this fake spaceship, and that’s something so few designs are able to capture. The Bowie does.

Joey Batey Insisted On Inserting A Specific Book Scene Into The Witcher Season 3

Season 3 has taken a lot of creative liberties with the way it unfurls the core events — the reasons behind the Thanedd ball have changed, Imposter Ciri’s origins are more sinister, and Jaskier has a romance with Radovid, the future mad king of Redania. Despite making such drastic changes, the new season is perhaps closest to the source material when compared to its previous installments. One such book-accurate inclusion is the scene between Jaskier and his on-and-off fling Vespula, where she throws his things off the balcony after getting into a fight with him. Batey told GamesRadar+ how this scene came about:

“I insisted on putting a book character in. I said, ‘Can we please have Vespula in there please.’ We have this scene from the book, and it was just nice to be able to return to that and the scene with Vespula is the scene that I auditioned with five years ago. So it just felt really full circle and I felt very settled in the character.”

This scene in question between Jaskier and Vespula might seem trivial when compared to everything that happens in this season, but this moment cements Jaskier’s character as a hopeless romantic. In the books and the games, Dandelion is known for having tempestuous, short-lived affairs, which often land him in trouble with the women involved, as they’re not too happy with his sudden disappearance. While Jaskier and Vespula’s relationship might be flighty and inconsistent in the show, they do share a genuine bond where they can confide in one another freely. This sentiment is reflected in the scene in which Jaskier gushes about Radovid, and Vespula teases him playfully instead of getting jealous over his new crush. This is truly Jaskier’s hot girl summer.

But Quordle is tough, so if you already find yourself searching for Wordle hints, you’ll probably need some for this game too.

I’m a Quordle and Wordle fanatic who’s been playing since December 2021, so I can definitely help you solve Quordle today and improve your game for tomorrow. Read on for my Quordle hints to game #530 and the answers to the main game and Daily Sequence.

Where Wordle challenges you to guess a new five-letter word each day, Quordle presents you with four puzzles to solve. And rather than complete them in turn, you do so simultaneously. You get nine guesses, rather than the six for Wordle, but the rules are otherwise very similar.

It’s played online via the Quordle website and you can also get to it via the Merriam-Webster site, after the dictionary purchased Quordle last year.

As with Wordle, the answers are the same for every player each day, meaning that you’re competing against the rest of the world. And also as with Wordle, the puzzle resets at midnight so you have a fresh challenge each day.

The website also includes a practice mode – which I definitely recommend using before attempting the game proper! – and there are daily stats including a streak count. You also get Quordle Achievements – specific badges for winning a game in a certain number of turns, playing lots of times, or guessing particularly hard words.

Oh, and it’s difficult. Really difficult.

What are the Quordle rules?

The rules of Quordle are almost identical to those of Wordle.

1. Letters that are in the answer and in the right place turn green.

2. Letters that are in the answer but in the wrong place turn yellow.

3. Letters that are not in the answer turn gray…

4. …BUT the word you guess appears in all quadrants of the puzzle at the same time, so an A could turn green in one square, yellow in another and gray in the final two.

5. Answers are never plural.

6. Letters can appear more than once. So if your guess includes two of one letter, they may both turn yellow, both turn green, or one could be yellow and the other green.

7. Each guess must be a valid word in Quordle’s dictionary. You can’t guess ABCDE, for instance.

8. You do not have to include correct letters in subsequent guesses and there is no equivalent of Wordle’s Hard mode.

9. You have nine guesses to find the Quordle answers.

10. You must complete the daily Quordle before midnight in your timezone.

What is a good Quordle strategy?

Quordle needs to be approached in a different way to Wordle. With four puzzles to solve in nine guesses, you can’t blindly throw letters at it and expect to win – you’ll stand a far better chance if you think strategically.

That’s the case in Wordle too, of course, but it’s even more important in Quordle.

There are two key things to remember.

1. Use several starting words

Firstly, you won’t want just a single starting word, but almost certainly two or three starting words.

The first of these should probably be one of the best Wordle starting words, because the same things that make them work well will apply here too. But after that, you should select another word or possibly two that use up lots more of the most common consonants and that include any remaining vowels.

For instance, I currently use STARE > DOILY > PUNCH. Between them, these three words use 15 of the 26 letters in the alphabet including all five vowels, Y, and nine of the most common consonants (S, T, R, D, L, P, N, C and H). There are plenty of other options – you might want to get an M, B, F or G in there instead of the H, maybe – but something like that should do the trick.

If all goes well, that will give you a good lead on what one or sometimes two of the answers might be. If not, well good luck!

2. Narrow things down

Secondly, if you’re faced with a word where the answer might easily be one of several options – for instance -ATCH, where it could be MATCH, BATCH, LATCH, CATCH, WATCH, HATCH or PATCH – you’ll definitely want to guess a word that would narrow down those options.

In Wordle, you can instead try several of those in succession and hope one is right, assuming you have enough guesses left. It’s risky, but will sometimes work. Plus, it’s the only option in Hard mode. But in Quordle, this will almost certainly result in a failure – you simply don’t have enough guesses.

In the scenario above, CLAMP would be a great guess, as it could point the way to four of the seven words in one go.

Sandra Oh Says She Wants to Return for New ‘Princess Diaries’ Movie: “I Am Ready for the Queen”

Sandra Oh would love to reprise her role as Vice Principal Gupta in the third installment of The Princess Diaries, which is currently in development.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, posted online Friday, the actress had a message for the film’s creative team about a potential return: “I am ready for the Queen. Call me! I’m dying to see how Gupta has moved up in the world.”

Last year, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported that a new Princess Diaries movie was in the works at Disney. Anne Hathaway has previously expressed her support publicly for a third installment, but sources at the time said she did not have a deal to return to the franchise and the hope is that she would return for the new film if it moves past the script.

Related Stories

As for if Julia Andrews would reprise her role as Queen Clarisse Renaldi, she said in an interview last year that “it’s probably not going to be possible.”

Although the Grey’s Anatomy star did not confirm if anyone from the film’s team has reached out to her, she did address her infamous line from the 2001 movie when she learns the Queen is coming to the high school.

In the viral scene, Oh’s character is revealing to Hathaway’s Mia that the media has gone into a frenzy after it was leaked that she is a princess. As she is explaining everything that is happening, she gets a call in her office and proceeds to answer, saying, “Gupta. Uh huh. Uh huh. Uh huh. The Queen is coming.”

While Oh said she has “no idea” why the line became so popular across social media, the actress did recall an instance when she was surprised a person from a younger generation said the line to her in public.

“I feel it’s like your generation that hit when you were all very young,” Oh explained. “I remember it was like 2015, I was walking down the street in Chicago, and there [was] a young person, who at that point in 2015, was not my usual demographic, which was like a college-aged, straight white guy. He passed me and then he ran back up to me and did the line: ‘Uh huh. Uh huh. Uh huh. The Queen is coming.’”

“I was like, ‘Who is this 20-year-old frat boy?’” she quipped. “He was coming up to me doing that line.”

As for Princess Diaries 3, most details have been kept under wraps. But Aadrita Mukerji has been tapped to pen the script for the new installment, which sources said is a continuation of the previous two films rather than a reboot.
