Starred Review from Kirkus
When Emily Went Missing: My Haunted Garden Book 1, which is the first novel I have released in a planned series received a Starred Review from Kirkus. You can check it out here: https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-re...
"A gripping, ultimately endearing supernatural tale about an odd girl and an even odder garden.
The result is entirely winning, a story that manages to be simultaneously dark and heartwarming."

Book 3 out: When Emily Went Missing
Hi all,
I just wanted to let you know I finished and put up another book. It's called When Emily Went Missing: My Haunted Garden Book 1 and it should be available most anywhere free right now. I'm hoping to write more in a series on it. You might like this story if you like southern paranormal mysteries. Highlights include:
• Southern fiction - (check – story in small town of Foxglove, Texas – make-believe place but could be any small town.)
• Stories of family - (check – oh, boy . . . Ruth’s mom. Nice lady but made a big ole boo boo and it sure went crazy. You can read about that in the first chapter. Yikes.)
• Romance - (well . . . Ruth ends up liking a boy and goes on her first date. Would that count? And she kissed a guy under the bleachers her sophomore year, but he turned out to be a bit of a jerk. We won’t talk about Logan right now. Jackson is much nicer, I think.)
• Mystery - (check and check. Where’s Emily!? Well, that’s kind of the question of the book, ain’t it? Ruth and Emily haven’t even gotten along in years, but Ruth is probably the only one who can help her.)
• Interesting relationships - (I got you covered. Ruth’s best friend is a haunted flower garden that ate a dead woman a 100 years ago and now is sentient. Ruth’s pretty sure it doesn’t want to eat her, though. Well, she hopes. I mean, they’re friends, right? No, surely it doesn’t want to eat her. Not like those pesky insects it kills all the time.)
No f-bombs in this book but there are some cuss words here and there.
About me: I’m a boring attorney and hopefully not such a boring Indie author. When Emily Went Missing: My Haunted Garden Book 1 is my third novel to date. I previously wrote another southern Fiction paranormal some years ago titled The Ghosts of Varner Creek. I also wrote a cartel thriller called Border Crossings.
