I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my books or will enjoy them as much as I did writing them.
Besides being an author, I am married with two grown sons and three grandchildren whom I love!
In between raising a family, I worked in the banking industry, then became a center director for a pregnancy center. I spent eight years with an anti-trafficking group in the Tampa Bay area, and eight years at Trinity College of Florida. These last three influenced my thinking greatly and influence my writing as well.
I love sweet tea, and the beaches, the swamps, and the forests of my native Florida. I now reside in Tennessee near my grandchildren, and love the coolness, the mountains and seasonal changes of Tennessee, especially the fall leaf change!
I started writing when I was twelve then put it all away when I married. At 27, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. Years later, I started writing again, but now I had God’s help and purpose!
I write Christian romantic suspense. My books wrap sweet, warm romance in real-life issues women face today, always adding an edge of mystery and suspense. My desire is not only to entertain but to encourage others in their walk with God.

Every face and every word inside this treasure trove of antiquity told a story.”
JoDee spent her professional life in the banking industry, prior to branching out into the recruiting business with an exclusive contract with TracyLocke Public Relations and Bustin & Company in Dallas, and Creamer Dickson Basford in New York. Upon relocating to East Texas, JoDee spent six years handling public relations for a non-profit, and writing freelance articles for the newspaper, trade publications, newsletters, installation ceremony scripts, and sadly a few obituaries. Her dream “job” has been chairing, writing minutes, and reviews for her ninety-three member book club, Bookers, for the past thirteen years. She also enjoys a byline, Back Porch Musings, a light-hearted view of life in general, in an area newspaper.

And even fewer people had horses, so walking three or four miles a day around town was the norm. But walkers, those who traveled across the country for whatever reasons they had, could cover twenty or more miles in a day. I hoped to average at least fifteen. One week down; four or five to go.
A full stomach, ground that was not unbearably hard, and a worn backpack serving as a pillow – it was more than enough enticement for a very tired thirteen-year-old girl to surrender to a nap.

About the Author:
Susan Clayton-Goldner was born in New Castle, Delaware and grew up with four brothers along the banks of the Delaware River. She has been writing poems and short stories since she could hold a pencil and was so in love with writing that she was a creative writing major in college.
Prior to an early retirement which enabled her to write full time, Susan worked as the Director of Corporate Relations for University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. It was there she met her husband, Andreas, one of the deans in the University of Arizona’s Medical School. About five years after their marriage, they left Tucson to pursue their dreams in 1991–purchasing a 35-acres horse ranch in the Williams Valley in Oregon. They spent a decade there. Andy rode, trained and bred Arabian horses and coached a high school equestrian team, while Susan got serious about her writing career.
Through the writing process, Susan has discovered she must be obsessed with the reinvention of self, of finding a way back to something lost, and the process of forgiveness and redemption. These are the recurrent themes in her work.
Her poetry has appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies. A collection of her poems, A Question of Mortality was released in 2014. Her novel, A Bend in the Willow was released in 2017 and is a Readers’ Choice Best Books of 2017 winner. She has just finished a her 7th book in the award-winning Winston Radhauser mystery series and is about to start #8. She has also completed a stand-alone thriller, called Tormented and a novel based on her journey to love and forgiveness with her alcoholic and abusive father entitled Missing Pieces.
After spending 3 years in Nashville, Susan and Andy now share a quiet life in Grants Pass, Oregon, with her growing list of fictional characters, and more books than one person could count. When she isn’t writing, Susan enjoys making quilts and stained-glass windows. She says it is a lot like writing–telling stories with fabric and glass.
