Author Ron Corbin served two tours in Vietnam as an Army helicopter and instructor pilot. He received numerous unit and individual ribbons for combat action, to include being awarded the Air Medal 31 times; once with “V” device for valor. Honorably discharged in 1969, he joined LAPD as a policeman and pilot/instructor pilot for Air Support Division. 
Retiring after an on-duty helicopter accident, he finished his college and graduate education. He holds a Masters in Elementary Education and a PhD in Security Administration with an emphasis on terrorism threats to America’s nuclear resources.  Joining the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (Metro) in 1993 as a crime prevention specialist, his specialty was Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). This subject matter expertise led to him being interviewed in Reader’s Digest, Sunset Magazine, PetroMart Business, and Las Vegas Life magazines, as well as being a contributing columnist to the Las Vegas Now magazine.
Ron is a member of the Public Safety Writers Association  and  the Wednesday Warrior Writers. He has won ten writing awards for the Public Safety Writer's Association, including 1st Place for Beyond Recognition. He is also a contributing author of stories published in seven anthologies. He has been a guest lecturer on Royal Caribbean International cruise lines, addressing citizens’ personal safety issues.
Ron retired from Metro in 2011. He and his wife Kathy have three children, seven grandchildren and live in Las Vegas, NV.

Dr. Toftoy has worked in three sectors: military (20 years), corporate (12 years), academic (17 years). He was a U.S. Army airborne – ranger, infantry officer. Toftoy is a highly decorated (wounded twice) Vietnam veteran (two tours). His Doctorate is in Strategic Planning and he was awarded an MBA from Tulane University, received his BS in Engineering from West Point. In the Corporate world he served as a General Manager for Raytheon Service Company, Director of Marketing for Lear Siegler, Inc., President of PATCH Associates, and others. At George Washington University, Charles Toftoy was the Director of the Entrepreneurial Small Business Program. He taught at the undergraduate and graduate level in The Business School. This included the Executive MBA Program. Retired as a professor emeritus (GWU) in 2007.
Toftoy has provided hands-on management assistance to over 1,500 small-medium sized enterprises in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. He has conducted global programs for business people in Eastern Europe, South America, and other developing countries. He authored a business book about CEO Strategy. Dr. Toftoy has written numerous articles, presenting them formally at conferences in the United States and globally (such as: Russia, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Puerto Rico …). He appeared on many TV and radio shows and was heard on Voice of America throughout 32 countries. He ran the Boston Marathon, competed in triathlons for ten years, and still competes in the Senior Olympics at the state and national levels. Toftoy serves on several Board of Directors, such as the Restaurant Association of Metro Washington. He advises several local companies on business strategy. He has written three novels (two mystery/thrillers and a self-help motivational book). All novels have received national awards.

Cindy Bauer lives in Missouri with her husband of 40 years, 1 cat, 2 dogs and some barn cats.
The couple also share their wooded 15 acres with an assortment of wildlife: turkey, deer, coyotes, rabbits, squirrels, cows, horses, and the occasional bobcat.
If you don't mind the ticks, it's a good place to hunt & fish with an abundance of birds and a only a few poisonous snakes. Hence the barn cats.

Kaylin McFarren (Linda Yoshida) is a rare bird indeed. Not a migratory sort, she prefers to hug the West Coast and keep family within visiting range. Although she has virtually been around the world, she was born in California, relocated with her family to Washington, and nested with her husband in Oregon. In addition to playing an active role in his business endeavors, she has been involved in all aspects of their three daughters' lives - taxi duties, cheerleading coaching, script rehearsals, and relationship counseling, to name but a few. Now she enjoys spending undisciplined time with her two young grandsons and hopes to have many more.

Rev. Paul G. Zimmer II graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 1973 with a 3.88 GPA. He also graduated from the Boy Scouts of America’s National Executive Institute in 1984. While attending the NEI, Paul was elected by his peers to serve as their class president for the second half of the course, and finished at the head of his graduating class. He also completed training for Gamesmanship Therapy for Children and Teens in a psychiatric setting at the Menninger Institute in Kansas City, Kansas. He was ordained a Southern Baptist Minister in 1984.
Zimmer is listed in numerous Who’s Who publications to include, Marquis, Strathmore, and Cambridge Who’s Who in America, the World, and the West. He was recently awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who's Who. His career is spent working with children, teens, and families in crisis. He received the Riverside County Office of Education, Youth Advocate of the Year award in 1993.  He and his wife, Shelly, write and sing Gospel music. They recorded one album in 1985. They have copyrighted numerous songs, and book of poems that are set to popular songs from the 1960′ to the 80′s rock and roll genre. Second Memoir in the Works for Dr. Phyllis A. Langton, Professor Emerita GWU
Words are my passion. It began as a young child when I lived in foster homes and a Children’s Home during the Great Depression in the 1930s and continued through the 1940s. I learned to write and tell stories to anyone who would listen as a way to connect with the people in my life. I didn’t understand why my friends and schoolmates lived a different life from mine: pretty clothes, bicycles, parents who picked them up in big, black cars, while I wore second-hand clothes and walked everywhere.
My writing passion flourished during the early 1950s, when as a student nurse, I learned to write narrative non-fiction in the form of 'nurse’s notes' on patients' charts that described in detail: how the wound smelled and the color of the wound drainage. Again, the medium was words.
My next writing journey began in the 1960s with my graduate education to earn a PhD in Sociology where the predominant medium was numbers. I learned a new form of thinking and writing that was heavily focused on the manipulation of quantitative data. Writing science was a challenge because I preferred words to numbers. But I accepted the challenge and evolved into a social science researcher, publishing books and articles as an academic sociologist. But my thirst for narrative non-fiction remained. This hunger led me to my current journey: creative non–fiction.
Early in 2000, my husband showed physical signs of a severe neurological disease: hand tremors, facial tremors, and slightly slurred speech. I began writing a journal of my observations. On Friday the 13th, 2000, he was diagnosed with ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. I continued this journal throughout our journey. Journaling exposed me to myself. I found that sometimes I wanted the dying to happen sooner so I didn’t have to watch his pain and he would be free of this ugly disease, but then he would be free of me. The contradictions loomed large during the journey we shared.
In my late seventies, I continue to feed my passion as I write my memoirs, Last Flight Out: Living, Loving & Leaving, and Sweet Abandon. Belonging to a literary community helps me learn, grow, evolve, and connect with other human spirits––a precious gift.

Robert L. Bryan (Robert Jestic), is a law enforcement / security professional with over 35-years of experience. He served twenty years with the NYC Police Department, retiring at the rank of captain. Mr. Bryan has also served in the United States Coast Guard and the US Border Patrol. He is currently the Chief Security Officer for the Division of Revenue in the NYC Transit Authority. He has a master's degree in security management and is an adjunct professor at a NYC college.
