January 2021 Update~
Dear Readers,
Welcome to 2021. Lots of changes here, as I get back into the swing of being a writer again. As some of you may not know, I am now writing for Harlequin’s Love Inspired imprint, under the name of Pamela Desmond Wright. In Dec 2020, my agent placed one of my Amish titles, The Cowboy’s Amish Bride (now titled The Cowboy’s Amish Haven), which will debut in September 2021. I know that those of you who are used to my dark gothics and other paranormal romances will be scratching your heads as to why I took the plunge into sweet romance. The answer is simple. It is the direction I was led to write in, and so I wrote it. When I started the project, I had no idea where it would take me. I just felt a need to follow it and see where the path led.
So, it’s official. I’m back in action as an active author. I’m hoping my readers will join me as I start this new journey as a Harlequin author. I’ll be posting updates, so join me on FB and Twitter for the latest.
Take care and stay warm.

November 2020 update~
Dear Readers,
I know it’s been quite awhile since I posted an update. There are a lot of reasons for that. As you all know, 2020 has not been a great year, given the Corona Virus panic, etc… While that has been difficult enough to deal with, I was also unlucky enough to suffer a devastating accident that landed me in the hospital, and cost me my spleen. As I was recovering, my older brother passed away suddenly. These events, one after the other, sent me into a deep depression. I put aside my writing for a bit while I tried to put my life back together.
But… good news! I did pull myself out of that black funk and I finished The Cowboy’s Amish Bride. What’s more, it’s going to land on an editor’s desk within the week. I have to thank her, too, (won’t say who but it’s at Harlequin) for her patience with me. She had requested the book back in August. I was on track to deliver it in September when, a few days later, I had a very freak accident. It never should have caused so much damage–I almost bled to death internally. So had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and the whole long recovery. I couldn’t sit up at the computer and my mind was pretty much a haze. Thankfully, I managed to get back up on my feet and get back to the computer.
So, now we wait. Hopefully, 2021 will be a lot better and I’ll get to celebrate the new year with a sale!
My fingers are crossed.
Happy Reading!

Synopsis:
Sex as a weapon?
That was something undercover agent Callie Whitten never thought she’d use, until Iollan Drake crossed her path. A brooding outlaw with smoky hair and copper eyes, his exotic accent and heated touch promise a lot of pleasure. His sensual caress lures Callie into a web of desire, and one forbidden night is not enough. She craves more…
Dangerous secrets loom as Callie discovers her not-so-typical investigation into a sex trafficking ring has some perilous twists. One of the Bureau’s most wanted, Drake’s a man with a dark secret: he isn’t human, and doesn’t belong on planet Earth.
Learning she’s been chosen to give birth to a new human-alien hybrid species plunges Callie into the middle of a secret government experiment, exposing a plan that threatens to change the entire face of mankind.
Enjoy!

March 2020 Update~
Dear Readers,
Sorry it has been so long since I posted anything. The new year has been hectic, and I am just now getting enough time to get things done on the website, like an update!
Well, there’s news. Some good, some not so good. So let’s dive in.
As much as I had hoped it would, the first book in my Miller family series, Her Amish Blessing, did not sell to a single editor. It came close a couple of time, but, ultimately, editors passed. Although a few editors mentioned they would look again if some modifications were made, it was suggested that I table that first book for now and move on to something new. So, I did. Right now, I have a new proposal on my agent’s desk, also Amish, and I am waiting for her input. She threw a few subjects my way and I was able to come up with a theme I think she will like (knock wood). This, too, is Amish Inspirational, but with a slightly different twist that is not present in most Amish themed books–at least none that I have been able to find. So I am crossing my fingers that this might be the one that makes an editor fall in love. Time will tell.
As for the paranormals, I am still considering finishing the 5th Eternity book, Ashes to Ashes, and the first book in the new Ocean Deep mermaid series. It’s slow going, but going nevertheless.
So, there ya have it. There’s work going on behind the scenes, for sure. Next, I am tacking an historical themed romance, so wish me luck!
Tare care,
Devyn
