Happy Mardi Gras!!

It's Fat Tuesday down here in the south, so... Happy Mardi Gras!! I hope that everyone that is out at the parades and on Bourbon Street remembers to stay safe! I really wanted to go myself, but I am not a big fan of standing in the rain all day, so I think I will skip out this year.
I have started another book, not about Callie Rose but I am working on her as well. I love it! I just get so excited when I start writing. It's like I get to live another life for a while. Crazy, I know. I will let you know when I come up with a title and when it will be available.
One thing that I have discovered on my writing journey is that I tend to differ greatly from a lot of other writers. From what I read, some tend to obsess over technical stuff like where you place your comma or did you use to many -ly words. I don't really do that, and maybe that's why I have Stay being edited again. I really just take myself to another place, put myself in another world, I am actually Callie Rose while I'm writing. It drives my husband crazy because he requires to much attention. :) I can't write when he is around. If I get interrupted, it takes me out of that place and then I have to work to get back there. That's why I try to do most of my writing when everyone is at school or work. Just a little glimpse into how I do my thing.
I am working on getting some items imprinted with my logo. I would love to start running some contests. I am thinking of doing one for readers who post a review on B&N, Kindle, or Goodreads. As of right now I only have one review and I would love to hear more.
Any other ideas or suggestions? I would love to hear them!

Long Overdue

I know that it has been a while since my last blog, but I have just been so busy. February was a crazy month in my personal life, as well as my writing. I finally finished up Stay!! It is now available through Nook, Kindle, Smashwords, iBookstore, etc. The print copy is in the works through Amazon, but apparently that will take a few more weeks.
What a process this has been! Who knew? I have learned so much over the past few days, who knew that there was so many different file formats? Not me, and every retailer requires something different. It was certainly a challenge but I think that I have finally gotten the hang of it.
A special thank you to those who have purchased and read the book. I hope that you have enjoyed it. I know there are a few typos here and there that I am working to revise, so thanks for the feed back on that as well. Please don't hesitate to review the book on Goodreads or through the retailers. I would love to hear from you.
Now that the bulk of the work on Stay is finished, I am so excited to start working on the sequel! I can't wait to find out what is going to happen with Callie in her new role. Not to mention her love life. I have all of these ideas floating around in my head that are just screaming to be hashed out on paper. I already know that the next book in the Callie Rose series is going to be awesome.
It's Mardi Gras time down here in Louisiana so... Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulet!!! (Let The Good Times Roll!!)
Sorry this picture is a little fuzzy, it was taken with my phone last year after the Saints big win.

Stay

      My first blog!
I am C.C. Jackson, I am an Indie Writer and the author of Stay, a paranormal romance novel for young adults.
In case you were wondering, I have been married to an awesome guy for almost 13 years. I have three not so little boys. They range in age from 10 to 18. They have been my biggest inspiration in my writing. From watching the three of them and their friends grow up, I have been able to dream up all sorts of wonderful things.
I love reading. I would spend my entire life with my nose in a book if I could. I am partial to romance and suspense, but I will read almost anything.
I hate to clean, especially the dishes. My husband is a way better cook than me. I am a recovering Coca Cola addict. I crave it ALL the time, but I am trying to avoid it.
I love yoga and I love to do anything outdoors. We do a lot of fishing, hiking, and camping. Of course every time that we go camping I say never gain. We haven't had much luck with camping but we keep trying.
I like all types of music, but I am usually the last one to discover new stuff. Maybe you guys can help me out with that. I love Boys Like Girls, Fall Out Boy, Greenday, anything like that really.
I rarely watch TV, but I make an exception for True Blood and sometimes for American Idol. It's not that I don't approve of watching TV, it's because I can never get on one. There is usually a game being played or a football game being watched on them. Maybe that's why I read so much.
I am so excited to be able to say that Stay will be out in e-book format soon. I have been working so hard lately to have it ready. My house and my husband have truly suffered, but he is such a trooper.    I am so thankful for everyone's support in this, especially my sister Shannon for being my biggest critic and  standby editor. She doesn't miss a thing.
Stay is my first book to be published online, or anywhere else for that matter. I am so proud of it. I hope that you all like it too.
Callie is the main character and the book is about all that she goes through to discover her true identity and then to live up to the person that she was always meant to become. I don't want to give to much away, but it is magical, and full of action and romance.
I better get back to my writing, but feel free to comment or send me an email. I would love to hear from you!
