Sammy's Thoughts: The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch
'The Last Lecture' provoked more emotion in me than any book I have ever read. Given to me as a gift just last summer by someone very special, I have read it through several times. Randy Pausch's life was a testament of greatness to his family, students, and all those who take a moment to absorb his story. His grace and maturity in his final days seemed admirable and unselfish (nearly Divine) as he prepared to leave his family. I personally became caught up in his message to his students, and the importance it held within him. I think anyone touched by the world of higher education and academia would feel inspired by Randy's story and message. However, I recommend this as a book for all those who breathe.

Dreaming In Darkness is a powerful diary in poetry, and prose. The beautiful poetry reveals a breathtaking journey through a painful hell that moves gradually upwards over a bumpy road, ultimately, leading into a state of healing.
Jessica’s poetry is a divinely classic work of art. Her flowing imagery is clear without a second of awkwardness. The poignant story is bold, a blatant display of pain, and suffering woven into the vision her words create.
The perfect order in which the poems are placed creates the sense of a diary, a fascinating collection of the poet’s most intimate thoughts.‘Sarafina’ You shine You speak
We listen
The author guides the reader into the myriad of emotions experienced in the victim’s abyss. ‘Induced Sleep’ finds the battered soul in a medicated state, drowning in the pain, yet here she begins to process her choices as she meets her self in the crossroads.
Still, further into the pain ‘Force Forgotten’ paints a bird’s eye view of the crime and the victim comes face-to-face with the perpetrator. ‘My legacy won’t be this, ’ but yours will. Stew in your own sin.
This revelation frees her to search for a healing aid. The hallways greet her with doors of deception. ‘Bad Religion,’ ‘This Mourning,’ and ’Walking Wounded’ portray encounters with some disingenuous souls that clutter the pathway.
In ’Temporary Royalty’ she begins to experience the highs and lows from within a different place. Here, she sees tiny glimpses of light periodically penetrating the darkness. Later, The bud starts blossoming in ’Love Letters.’ The fabulous poet surprises with prose. The change symbolizes a less rigid environment, freedom. A different place depicted from within a different style.
‘Dreaming in Darkness’ is brilliant. This is a powerful, effective piece of art portraying the journey from pain to healing, darkness to light.I highly recommend.

Sammy's Review: SEMPER AUDACIA by M. Pax
The title is awesome and sets the scene perfectly. SEMPER AUDACIA is a fascinating novella! MPax has built a dynamic world within the pages of an equally dynamic Science Fiction story that begs for sequels. I loved Leda a most interesting, alone through much of the story, she is an incredibly well devoloped character. However, I must return to the detail, MPax had me awe struck by the meticulous story she was able to create in the confines of a short story.
The ghost brigades, and the space outpost are just a couple of elements that escort the reader's mind through a wonderfully imaginative world. This is a great weekend read that will intrigue the most avid of Sci-Fi Fans.

Sammy's Review: Gideon's Spies: The Secret History of the Mossad by Gordon Thomas
GIDEON'S SPIES is a comprehensive, and balanced picture of Mossad. The author begins with a plunge into the circumstances revolving around the death of Princess Diane. He paints an intricate picture of facts, and faux paus that clearly complicated the situation then and now. It is an interesting beginning to a book of this nature. However, it does demand the reader's attention, therefore, I believe it serves the purpose well.
After the dramatic introductory story, the author settles into a more traditional format based on the chronological events, and history of the Israeli spy agency, Mossad. Mossad has enjoyed a much more secretive past than its American counterparts. This alone, has me celebrating the encyclopedic work the author provides in this book. I literally could not put it down, and found myself reading it every time I had even a moment to spare.
The sources, and intimate knowledge the author provides is phenomenal. He was afforded many hours of interviews with intricate members that commented directly and anonymously. The history of the agency and incidents in which they were involved are fascinating. The author details the successes as well as the failures in dynamic detail.
This is a long book, but I highly recommend it for those interested in an absolutely fascinating look into this secretive agency and World History! Bravo!!!!

Sammy's Review: When The Right Words Won't Come by McCollonough Ceili
This is a fabulous book to keep around for those times when you want to say just the right thing. The author has created a library of thoughts in words for every occasion. I found her poems and prose to be most uplifting and clever. McCollonough gives the reader rights to use her work for personal correspondence. This little gem would be a wonderful gift for anyone.

Who Said It? A True Story
She walked up and told the woman behind the counter, she was there for her appointment. The receptionist responded, "You are three hours early."
She nodded, and spoke in a whisper, "But, the tests are in."
The woman looked into her eyes, and said. "Yes dear, I will get you with the Doctor as soon as I can, I promise.
She forced a slight grin and took a seat in the waiting area. A few moments later, the grumbling in her stomach forced her to the door. In the hall, outside the glass walls, her pace quickened as she approached the lavatory. Inside, the sound of her stomach expelling fear vibrated through the confines of the small room. She hadn't eaten in nearly two days, so nothing else shared the space within her.
She staggered to the sink. The person looking back in the mirror seemed surreal, and unfamiliar. Awkwardly, she removed the disposable toothbrush from her purse and tried to freshen up before returning to the waiting area.
Within a few long moments, an attractive nurse rescued her from the public area. "Wait here, you'll be more comfortable. We will move across the hall, shortly." With that the darling girl adjusted the chair for her and turned down the lights.
She tried to get comfortable, but the force beating her up inside was too strong. Again, she darted out of the room praying the restroom was close by. For nearly four years, she had lived with the knowledge of a tumor growing inside her head. At first, there were no symptoms, but those days were gone. She could no longer deny that the dizziness and vertigo were becoming problematic. Soon, she would be armed with the knowledge she feared most, essentially, the damage report.
She was met in the corridor by a resident. He guided her into the room where the doctor would reveal the truths. The young doctor was kind and engaged her in small talk as he reviewed the scans. After his quick review, he stood, and excused himself.
Almost immediately, the student returned with his mentor, the chief surgeon. She liked the older man; on previous visits she felt a wonderful chemistry. He was warm and friendly, and reminded her of her father. The Surgeon patted her shoulder, before taking the seat beside her.
Soon, the screen lit up. The time had come, to know. The resident sat across from her, his face was kind, but attentive as his professor began to explain the destructive path the tumor had taken. His explanation was thorough, nothing could be misunderstood. Each and every tiny bone, now destroyed received his attention.
She listened as if it were about another person. She didn't flinch when he showed her the tumor had penetrated the small bone that protected her brain. The room became quiet for a few seconds. In unison, the three took a breath.
The Doctor turned to his computer and broke the silence. "I'll get you fixed up. We'll take care of you, Baby Girl."
She looked up at the resident. He smiled and shook his head. He had heard it. It had been less than a month since her Dad's funeral. Her Dad was the only one that had ever called her "Baby Girl."
Thank you, Daddy, I'm not afraid anymore.

Sammy's Review: RED ALERT by Dan Wildcat PhD
Enthusiastic readers will agree, once in a while a book will dramatically change or deepen your view of a specific issue.
Dr. Wildcat's forte' is in environmental research, and indigenous knowledge. My curiosity led me to video of some of his appearances at various symposiums around the country. His focus is on 'Global Warming' or as he refers to it 'Global Burning'. In RED ALERT, Dr. Wildcat introduces the reader to a harsh look into a devastating problem, but, ultimately, with a hopeful solution.
Although, the Professor is more convinced than I of the entire human cause of "Global Burning", I believe his argument is convincing, and gives credence to cyclical natural events. Despite the weight of blame, the human race is responsible for many vile acts against Mother Earth. Dr. Wildcat's solution rests in the indigenous peoples of our country, and around the world.
The tone of his book is poignant, and filled with passionate concern. About half of the book focuses on the problem, while the other half is a well thought out outline to a solution. Dr. Wildcat's resolution promotes the idea of a return to nature, living within our own unique geographic area. His theory points out many destructive problems that are a result of our Global Society. He often refers to this as "Homogenized". The result is a compilation of problems that can be solved no other way than through awareness, education, and ultimately a change in our "lifeway" path.
I found his belief uplifting and energizing, since this is a sentiment I have long shared. The difference is in Dr. Wildcats faith in humanity, he is convinced change can happen prior to disaster. My fear is disaster will bring change, and of course, survival would rely on our return to indigenous roots to begin, again. Nevertheless, the Professors solution with the right campaign is completely plausible.
I must mention, RED ALERT is a great resource for education, through parallels and lessons of both current and historical events Dr. Wildcat provides the reader with a great many little known facts. The reader will discover, how many wars were fought by Native Americans in the name of 'The Great Spirit'. The intricacies of the planes Wind Power Project and the treaties perhaps, responsible for the recent decline in their use as a serious solution to Green Power. These important facts, along with details of an ancient waterway supply in Arizona, and the indigenous practices of several current and ancestral tribes are fascinating, and helpful .
I urge everyone to buy and read a copy of RED ALERT by Dr. Dan Wildcat PhD. This is a situation that effects everyone.

Sammy's Review: THE DAY GOD WINKED; by Mark Paul Jacobs
Humankind's fascination with existence is infinite.
Pete, a taxi driver, and recovering addict escorts the reader through an interesting view of a dynamic event. His experience provides a clever duality that serves to deepen the reader's contemplation.
The novella provoked several questions for me, but one remained with longevity. Is it more important to know the ultimate answer to our existence, or is it enough to know that our persona does not end? Perhaps, this changes with our lives. In the wake of my father's death, I think, I would choose to know and be happy with the infinite.
Mark Paul Jacobs is a talented, and very creative author, whom has developed an intelligent, and plausible explanation in THE DAY GOD WINKED!

Hidden Mountain: The Legacy
NASA Photo"With constellations in the night sky, some look up and point. Others can be guided by the arrangement:The Sagittarian bow piercing enemies, the Water JarSoaking fruit trees, the Bull plowing its truth,
The Lion tearing darkness open to red satin. Use These words to change. Be kind and honest…."Rumi
The novel Hidden Mountain is a fictional story of a journey. Within it lies a complex tale, one designed to explore the marriage of science, spirituality, and history with the human experience. I like most writers use actual facts and fill in the blanks with a fictional story. My hope is to add a human element and provoke thought to some of the mysteries that surround us. The circumstances I present are just one of many possibilities stirring around in my own mind. Obviously, there are many more ideas in the minds of others. Here, I present just one, a fictional situation with several facts, and a whole lot of fantastic speculation based on ancient text. Solomon's Legacy : The Preface
To: "Donizetti" <Donizetti@OPERA.com> 0939 11 May 2010From: "Maestro" <Maestro@OPERA.com>Subject: Top Secret
The time has come. This is the Legend:
In the year 939 BCE, prior to spring the crew and passengers aboard the vessels slid through the Strait of Gibraltar, between the Pillars of Hercules. They left their homeland behind, with knowledge they would never return. The large Galley ship led four smaller vessels in the bittersweet departure as their assignment began, stockpiled with supplies, rations, and women.
The fleet navigated the Atlantic Ocean for several months as they embarked upon a special expedition to the New Land. The command ship carried 400 passengers and crew, and demanded 290 rowers. Accompanied by four smaller vessels, each filled with extra supplies, they provided the means to travel through the shallow tributaries of the New Land.
Destiny dictated the King's power must fade throughout the United Kingdom of Israel. It was time. A Divine Vision prompted him to organize and deploy this mission. The Tribes would spread throughout the World and populate, but only if Israel diversified. Many claimed the King had gone mad. Contrarily, Israel's strength prepared the countrymen for this day.
Fate intended the people of Israel to inhabit all corners of the Earth. King Solomon and his father, King David, trained the Tribes for their future. Rumors claimed King Solomon abandoned the God of Moses, but in reality, Solomon instead painfully chose to honor his God, and all His wishes. The King sent the special envoy to temporarily inhabit a specific location, on the other side of the planet.
The journey wasn't without misfortune. Dysentery infected everyone aboard one of the smaller ships, and left all its passengers in a floating tomb, without a single survivor from the depths of her boughs. Near the island of present-day Cuba, a wild hurricane capsized one of the remaining smaller ships. The crew only rescued a few survivors from the treacherous waters.
Three of the five original ships arrived at the mouth of the Rio Grande, deep inside the Gulf of Mexico, nearly 2,500 years before Christopher Columbus discovered the New World. King Solomon's Captain, Nathanael, knew their travels up the river would be difficult. The direction of the on-coming current forced the ships to push against the river's fierce waves.
Merely a few days into their ascension of the Rio Grande, Nathanael determined the crew and passengers should stop for rest. They constructed a temporary campsite to provide a much-needed respite on dry land. The crew and passengers grew exhausted from the sea. No one had stepped foot off the ship in months, and many members of their party had been lost to the ocean's demands. Thwarted by a vicious hurricane, their earlier plans for a land rest didn't happen.
Before they left their temporary camp, Nathanael ordered the Levite Priestly Scribe, Ahab, to leave an inscription to mark their path. Other similar ships had voyaged before them into the New World to gather resources during the creation of the Temple, and Solomon's Palace. This was the first group sent with intentions to settle, and procreate.
King Solomon's orders sent Nathanael and his voyagers to a specific summit above the tributary that brought them from the Rio Grande. King Solomon a dedicated student of The Book of Enoch provided the longitude and latitude of their destination, the King detailed their duties and provided the items needed for their ultimate purpose.
The Voyage reached the summit at the site of an ancient volcano. Nathanael quickly set Ahab, the Scribe, to work creating known confirmed ancient relics located in recent times. On the highest point, at the very top of the Mountain, they positioned a stone that dedicated the Nexus to Yahweh.
At the base of the Mountain, Ahab inscribed the Ten Commandments on an enormous stone. This stone instilled Yahweh's laws as supreme at this site. Acting as a gateway to God's natural Temple, two more giant stones created a portal beyond the Commandments. This served as the entrance.
Ahab the Scribe aligned the Cosmos with Divine precision, as he inscribed the Summit's stones with the image of the approaching Eclipse. This Eclipse Stone marked the day when all would abandon God's Natural Temple in the New Land, and set forth to populate the New World in preparation for the day their descendants around the world would welcome 'The Chosen'.
All throughout the lands, their descendants would prepare for the future wedding. King Solomon gave the voyagers explicit directions for their journeys, and their territories within the New World.
Nathanael's five Levite Priests, along with two members from the Tribe of Judah, soon embarked on their next expedition. The priests, Allon, Boaz, Eran, Iscali, and Merab descended into the volcano to find God.
King Solomon informed the old volcano housed a natural formation, God's Temple in the New World. Solomon professed God spoke in this Holy Sanctuary in the New World. He warned - Only the Levite priests, and those with an extraordinary Divine Connection, could enter the place where God spoke.
The Wise King told them they would find a Great Room within the old volcano, a room formed naturally by God, and the place where they would hear the Voice of God. In this chamber they would discover an abundance of God's Manna.
The Levite Priests could enter the Great Hall; the other members of the group could not, but could stay within the Halls of the Labyrinth. During their stay at the Mountain, the Priests performed their duties to God within the Great Hall where God spoke to them.
Before the Tribes dispersed from the site to claim their territories amongst the New World, they obliged to complete their duties under the instruction of the King. These duties would benefit the future descendants of all the Tribes. The King sent items for them to leave behind, strategically placed for only the Chosen One and his companion to find. The Chosen One would emerge from the Tribe of Judah.
During this time, the Earth would evolve and wait. Amidst the wake of the Great Immaculate Conception, when God would connect with his feminine Shekinah, his bride - the New World, would be born and prepare. The Chosen One must gather special representative members of the Tribes to prepare God's Nexus, and Humanity, for the Great Marriage in the Cosmos.
God would only take his bride if Humanity and Earth came prepared to enter a New Era. The New Existence by design would unravel separation. This will birth the beginning of a new era. During this time, the female will share equal dominance with the male. This will happen as part of God and Shekinah's conception. In the days leading to the Great Conception, the female power will experience a gradual rise in preparation of the Great Marriage.
The Chosen One from the Tribe of Judah will find a Scroll. If his soul is touched, he will set upon a great journey to discover his Levite companion. Led by the Divine Spirit, the Levite will then enter the Chamber of God, to retrieve the second Scroll.
Together, Judah and Levi will face Demons within themselves, the same Demons that hinder Mankind. They must overcome these obstacles within their individual souls, and conquer them together. Facing these personal Demons, they will learn much and see these as representatives of the plagues that suffer Mankind.
The pair's connection will ultimately lead them to the identification, and collection, of the Chosen Tribe members that will come to represent all the Sons of Abraham. These members will prepare the Nexus as they usher out the Old, and welcome in the New.
Judah and Levi will fight to prevent the Sons of Baal from blocking this marriage. Many years preceding Judah and Levi's journey, Baal will plan and prepare to block the eminent conception. The Sons of Baal will possess the necessary power to place tragic obstacles in their way, and they will do so without remorse.
The Sons of Baal will not enter the place of God, as they cannot. Beyond the Gates of the Home of the Chosen One, the Sons of Baal will weaken, as they lack the connection needed to succeed against God's Supreme Design. These are Sacred Grounds.
In the time of King Solomon, all the Tribes possessed the knowledge of the Prophecy. They were aware that God would keep His promise, but Judah and Levi would always retain their Freewill. The end result would be far from inevitable.
The two must learn to reach deep within their souls, as individuals, and if they had not prepared themselves as such individuals, their meeting would never take place. The Pair must believe in the Greater Divine Design, or their possible meeting would fail to manifest. Beyond their initial encounter, these beliefs will experience further tests, in the form of rising personal Demons that haunt them.
The couple must join, and form a complete connection before their journey begins. Unexpected obstacles will continue to test their connection in order to assure their Faith as Truth. The energy between Judah and Levi must course through them as a river, flowing in and out, from, and onto one another, and then back again.
This will not be easy as they struggle with Freewill, and powerful threats from their Adversary - the Sons of Baal. Judah and Levi will need to obtain the help of trusted others, but ultimately, they will always need the connection of one another to defeat their opposition.
Levi will possess a strong connection to the unseen world. Judah will find his strength grounded strongest on the face of Mother Earth. Their connection will require each to receive the other. Without Levi, Judah will not locate his brothers and their female counterparts.
Judah and Levi will emerge as Spiritual representation, undivided by incomplete ideals, which have long since divided the brothers. The New Land a Mother must retain her maternal instinct. Jerusalem, the Father, must also remain strong. The Nexus will join the Father and the Mother within Earth's center. The Wise King Solomon predicted, in the days prior to the unification, the frozen mass separating the two would activate the process of melting.
Mankind must understand, only those prepared will survive the Great Cosmic Wedding, and live to enjoy the 1000 year reception that will follow. Without overcoming their inner demons during the days of darkness fear will overcome the majority, and lead them to their own demise.
Levi the Archer, and Judah the Bull must prepare the path for the Lion. The Lion, the son of the Great Mother Shekinah and the Great Father God, is the Son born to fight the final battle against the Sons of Baal, the Evil Ones that turned their backs on God.
They must believe and pray that Judah and Levi will find the answers, discover their purpose, and reach to one another. Together they must seek the knowledge of the Ancient Ones.
We must stay alert. The time has come to defeat Judah and Levi.

He is the opposite kind of egotist, driven by grandiosity rather than greed, and if he insists on a version of you that is funnier, stranger, more eccentric and profound than you suspect yourself to be--capable of doing more good and more harm in the world than you've ever imagined--it is all but impossible not to believe, at least in his presence and for a while after you've left him that he alone sees through to your essence, weighs your true qualities (not all of which are necessarily flattering--a certain clumsy, childish rudeness is part of his style), and appreciates you more fully than anyone else ever has.” — Michael Cunningham
