Sunday Prepper Bible Study-Last Chance
At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
Jeremiah 18:7-8
This week, Obama leaves the White House and Trump will take his place. Given the alternative, it could have been a lot worse.
But now comes the test. Not only will we see if Donald Trump intends to fulfill his promises, but we will also see if the conservatives who put him there can do more than vote once every four years. Not only should we hold Trump’s feet to the fire, but also our own. We must stand firm and push forward with all our strength. There is still much ground to be regained.
The most important fight we have before us is the protection of the unborn. Trump has said he will nominate pro-life Supreme Court Justices. That’s a good start. Let’s hold him to that campaign promise. However, that is only one battle in the war for human life. With a Republican, House, Senate and Oval Office, this is our first chance in 10 years to get legislation on the books that will nullify Roe v Wade.
We still don’t have a super-majority in the Senate, and the Dems could filibuster the legislation, but at least we could get the blood of those unborn off the hands of the Republican party. And with only nine votes standing in the way, don’t tell me there is no deals that can be struck. Substantial pressure can be applied to the Democrats in the Senate. We can purge this wickedness from our land.
But I fear this is our last chance. If we don’t make the most of it, if we fail to stand up, speak out, and defend the lives of the unborn this time, we deserve every ounce of the wrath God has stored up for this nation.
The National Pro-Life Alliance has been working with Senator Rand Paul to get the Life At Conception Act passed. 2017 could be the year this bill is passed into law. But it takes time and money. I pray that you’ll consider funding pro-life organizations like NPLA and The Center for Medical Progress in 2017. If you’re maxed out on giving, dedicate a portion of your tithe to these organizations. More than a new HD projector, your church needs a country that is not under the curse of God for its dereliction of duty in protecting the unborn.
Beginning January 20th, Email and call President Trump and your Representatives. Let them know that if this bill doesn’t come back up in 2017 and if it doesn’t get their vote, you won’t be voting for them in the next election. If you have a favorite pro-life organization or political action committee, leave it in the comments below.
Consider attending this year’s March For Life on January 27 in Washington DC. If we can learn anything from the left, it should be the lesson that “the squeaky wheel gets the greasing.”
Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war, or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! The Left is Doubling Down-Don’t Let Up Now!

Sunday Prepper Bible Study-Greed
For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.
After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 25:14-30
This parable is filled with decades worth of Bible studies. I probably won’t spend that much time on it, but I will likely need a few weeks to explore it a little deeper.
Three weeks ago we examined how Jesus had chosen capitalism as an example when explaining the Kingdom of Heaven to his disciples. We discussed how capitalism is demonized by popular American culture and how a socialistic approach to markets is touted as being more moral and just.
The buzz word most often used to condemn the prefered economic system of our Lord is “greed.”
Anyone who wants to make the most of what they’ve been given must be greedy. Anyone who wants to turn a profit is filled with greed. It is greed that motivates the entrepreneur and the business owner.
Is any of this true? Of course some entrepreneurs and business owners are greedy. Whether it’s the last financial crisis of 2008 or the tulip bulb bubble, the first bubble collapse on record, greed has always played a part.
But that’s not the question. Rather, we should be asking, is greed unique to capitalism? And the answer is no. Absolutely not. The great failure of socialism and communism is that they too are plagued by greed. It is greed that absolutely guarantees that those two systems cannot and will not deliver on their promises of utopic bliss. When they fail, they fail miserably. Communist China, Russia, Venezuela, and Cuba have some of the most horrific stories of starvation and wealth inequality in all of history. That is due to greed.
The difference in greed within capitalism and that of socialism is simple. In capitalism, my greed causes me to want to hoard the wealth I’ve earned. In socialism, my greed causes me to want to hoard the wealth you’ve earned. In capitalism, my greed problem is between me and Jesus. In socialism, it’s between me, and you, and Jesus. This presents a much more complex situation.
Greed is a manifestation of our wicked human nature embeded deep in our flesh. The only solution for it is life in the Spirit. Trying to solve it through the flesh and by trying to outsmart the wisdom of the Bible with a new economic system only makes it worse.

Sunday Prepper Bible Study-Happy New Year!
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105
Happy New Year! I pray that God will bless you with health, prosperity, wisdom, and a fresh anointing of His Holy Spirit for 2017. Especially wisdom! You’re going to need it this year like never before. You’ll need God’s wisdom to discern between right and wrong, to know how to deal with challenges, to make the right decisions in relationships and business dealings. Having God’s wisdom can make or break 2017 for you.
Wisdom is a great thing to pray for. I truly believe God supernaturally imparts wisdom upon us when we ask. But, I also believe He expects us to seek His wisdom.
How do we do that? By spending time in his Word everyday. No, it’s not legalistic, it’s called discipline. For those of you who have made resolutions to get in shape this year, it’s going to take dedication. You’ll have to commit to going to the gym, swimming, or whatever your preferred method of exercise is, five days a week. If you don’t, you won’t see any change. That’s not me trying to be legalistic, it’s just the facts.
Likewise if you want to purpose to know God better, get closer to Him, and tap into His wisdom which you are going to need so desperately this year, you’ll have to make a commitment. I urge you to make 2017 the year that you begin each day with reading God’s Word. Can you do it at the end of the day? I don’t know. Many people can’t. They find that the distractions of the day have totally consumed them and they simply don’t do it.
For me, I’ve found that Bible reading is just like tithing. If I offer God what’s left over, guess what? That’s right. Nothing is left over. So, just like giving to God, I offer the first fruits of my day by being quiet and reading his Word.
I promise you, if you’ll make a New Year’s resolution to read God’s Word, everyday, it will have a radical effect on your 2017.
