"The Breeders is a YA dystopian read that's as gritty and dark as the cover and title suggest. It takes a look at how society might devolve if females were commodities: bought, sold, stolen, and traded to keep the dwindling human race going. Frightening concept. I loved it." --A.G. Donna K Weaver's Cover Reveal!

Check out Donna K Weaver's BEAUTIFUL cover! I love it!

Book Description:When Lyn sets off on her supposedly uncomplicated and unromantic cruise, she never dreams it will include pirates. All the 25-year-old, Colorado high school teacher wants to do is forget that her dead fiancé was a cheating scumbag. Lyn plans a vacation diversion; fate provides Braedon, an intriguing surgeon. She finds herself drawn to him: his gentle humor, his love of music, and even his willingness to let her take him down during morning karate practices. Against the backdrop of the ship’s make-believe world and temporary friendships, her emotions come alive. However, fear is an emotion, too. Unaware of the sensitive waters he's navigating, Braedon moves to take their relationship beyond friendship--on the very anniversary Lyn is on the cruise to forget. Lyn's painful memories are too powerful, and she runs from Braedon and what he has to offer.Their confusing relationship is bad enough, but when the pair finds themselves on one of the cruise's snorkeling excursions in American Samoa things get worse. Paradise turns to piracy when their party is kidnapped and Lyn's fear of a fairytale turns grim. Now she must fight alongside the man she rejected, first for their freedom and then against storms, sharks, and shipwreck.

Fight or Flight blog tour/guest post

Fight or Flight blog tour

Blurb:Be smart.
Keep your head down.
And look out for number one.

These are the rules Jay has lived by for the past two years. The rules of surviving life on the streets. But when Em comes bursting into his life, in all of her disastrous glory, the rules go right out the window.

Survive.
Flee what’s been left behind
And never look back.

Em’s plan was simple. Though, it was easier said than done. The city streets are dangerous and unforgiving to a new arrival. Especially, a seventeen year old girl who’s never known anything but life in the suburbs. Sometimes, however, what’s lurking behind those white picket fences can be more frightening than any dark alley.

Both of them made the same decision when life got overwhelming—to run from their demons. Brought together by fate or circumstance, Em and Jay find the kind of love neither of them ever expected. But when those demons come back to haunt them and their love is on the line, which instincts will they choose to follow this time . . . Fight or Flight? *Warning: This story includes mature language and themes, and is intended for mature audiences.

From Jamie:
Guest posts are difficult to do. Especially, several in a row. In all honesty, I’m not that interesting of a person. I just don’t have that much to say about myself. So, out of desperation, I turned to my 7-year-old son for inspiration. I asked him things about me that people may want to know. He came up with quite an impressive list of favorites, most of which he filled in himself with surprising accuracy.
My favorite color, according to my son, is brown. He’s right. When it comes to clothing or things like that I do love brown, but I’m not sure brown qualifies as a favorite color, so beyond that I really like purple and red.My favorite animal is a gorilla. Also, correct. He knows this from our last trip to the Bronx Zoo, where they practically had to drag me out of the gorilla house to go and look at something else.My favorite weather is hot and sunny. Ding-ding-ding. So don’t ask me why I live in upstate NY—land of rain, snow, and gray skies.Favorite activity? Reading, duh. But that one was easy.Apparently, my favorite thing to say is “Shhh.” If you’re my son I guess this makes sense.According to him, my favorite book is Ring Wars. A fantasy novel I’ve been working on on-and-off for a few years now. He may be a little partial to that one, though, since I did name the main character after him. Someday, maybe I’ll even get to share it with all of you.My favorite Pokemon is Squirtle. Okay, then. I’ll take his word for it.My favorite sport is baseball. Can you guess what sport my son plays? My favorite sports team? The Yankees. Well, hello, my favorite sport is baseball and I’m from NY. And, according to my son my favorite food is apples. They’re yummy and all and I’m thrilled he thinks I’m so healthy, but I’ll take a shrimp or a taco over an apple any day of the week. Just don’t tell him that. So, there you have it. Everything you—or a 7-year-old—could possibly want to know about me in a nutshell.

The Faith and Fate of David Ghent

In the Lucen city dwell the descendants of Righteous and Fallen angels. Kept hidden from the rest of Earth and governed directly by Heaven, each descendant is given a chance to prove themself loyal to Heaven, and obtain salvation. For most, the task is encouraging and fair, but for David, it’s devastating.
David Ghent has waited twenty-one years to fulfill a prophecy foretelling the destruction of Lucifer’s power on Earth and Heaven, saving himself and the entire world from Hell’s power. His training is complete, the city prepared. As the battle commences, the city’s most beloved daughter, Layla, suddenly appears at the Hellgate. David is then faced with an impossible choice: fulfill the prophecy, or save her life. The consequences David faces after choosing Layla force him to question his entire life, and his loyalty to Heaven. As the aftermath of failure unfolds, David discovers that the real battle against Lucifer has just begun.

My thoughts: The Faith and Fate of David Ghent is a fresh innovative novel. I've not read a story like this before. David is not your typical hot, sexy hero. He is complex, angry, intense. If you are looking for a fluffy read, this is not it. David Ghent, is wonderful, thought-provoking read. It will pull you in and hold you there. You grow to love him as he struggles to complete his foreordain mission. Though set in Heaven, The Faith and Fate of David Ghent is in no way preachy.
I have to say that as part owner of Prose by Design, we are the publishers of The Faith and Fate of David Ghent, but if we didn't have complete faith in this incredible story, we wouldn't have published it. It is truly a unique read and worth your time! I  loved  this novel.

About the Author

Maren grew up in Rochester, NY, which is why much of her work is set in the East. She moved to Provo, UT to attend Brigham Young University in 2004. Meanwhile, she received a license in cosmetology in 2006, and graduated with a B.S. in Home and Family Living-Clothing and Textiles in 2009. After graduation, Maren worked as a cosmetologist/barber, while her husband finished his own degree in Special Education. After he graduated, they settled in Spanish Fork, UT, where they plan on staying for a long time.
Now Maren is a stay-at-home mom, part-time piano teacher, cosmetologist, and writer. Amidst the buisiness of being a housewife, she loves reading, writing and playing music, vacationing, going on dates with her hubby and friends, throwing dinner parties, and sewing. She enjoys collecting books, and hopes someday to have a library big enough to fit all of them. Currently, her two pretty-enough-to-be-displayed-bookshelves are overflowing, and she's got books stashed all around her house. Open a random drawer, you'll probably find one.Maren's previous work includes a short comedy, "A Tale of Two Cemeteries," and a middle-grade reader, The Treehouse. The Faith and Fate of David Ghent is her first published novel. Find out more about Maren at www.marendille.com, or on FacebookGoodreads, and Amazon.
