That’s right, I’m going to be in Atlanta this coming weekend for one of my favorite annual conventions EVER: Dragon Con! If you’ve never been, it’s absolutely worth checking out if you’re in the area. Come for a day, come for the whole weekend… if nothing else, come to people-watch, because some of the best costumers and cosplayers I’ve ever seen, I saw at Dragon Con.

Why did you pick Lark Ascending for the title of the third book? If it's going to match the first two shouldn't it be something-Lark? like something starting with S like the others?

For me, the titleLark Ascendingwas meant tobelong withthe other titles in the series but to break the mold a little. The conflict in Lark’s world is all about vicious cycles, something that comes full circle in the third book as she returns to the city where she started. So the third book is all about breaking the pattern, hence the title.


As for why that particular title, TheLark Ascending is the title of a truly beautiful piece of classical music for violin by Vaughan Williams, which was in...
