I have a question for Jack: if every crime in the world was legal...what would you do to Samuel?

If I had the ability to hypnotise him, I would do that. I’d find out the answers to the questions that make him uncomfortable. Who is he really? What does he want with us? Why is he at the house? And how did he learn how to hypnotise others?

Even if I couldn’t find out the answers, I’d still hypnotise him, just so he knows how it makes others feel

Samuel Gladstone

Introducing Samuel to the house. This handsome newcomer plays a bigger role in PLAYING WITH FIRE, and the final book in the trilogy, HEART BURN (due out in December). As such, he gets his own brief profile on the “Who’s In The House” page. Here it is:

Samuel Gladstone: smooth-talking charmer. He can make you swoon with only a few spoken words - quite literally.

indypendenthistory:

The bathing machine was a device popular in the Victorian Era to allow people to change out of their usual clothes in to swimwear and then wade in the ocean at beaches. Bathing machines were roofed and walled wooden carts rolled into the sea. The bathing machine was part of sea-bathing etiquette more rigorously enforced upon women than men but to be observed by both sexes among those who wished to be “proper.”

This dress is more Sylvia’s style than mine. For some reason it looks like the lady can take only shuffling steps. ~ Hannah
