A Conservative Writes About Damn Near Everything
It's eight days before election time, and we will see which direction we choose to go. Will it be onward towards statism, government over all, or back to "we the people" and a representative republic as our founders imagined.
We can continue towards entitlement America, where victimhood is the poster child, or we can return to fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility, and showing the rest of the world why we still are that shining city on a hill.
There is a reason why people are literally dying to get here. We are not the bully; we are the hope of the world.
We gave the whiners and "blame everybody else" crowd a chance. They screwed it up big-time. Now it's time for the grown-ups to take charge and clean up the mess the children have made.
Some conservatives are very close to crying "the sky is falling", but I am not ready to scrunch down and go into survival mode. I believe our best days are just over the hill, and if we will stay vigilant and disciplined and hold our elected representatives feet to the fire, we can get back to work, get the
straight-jacket off business, shut down the government credit card, and return sanity to that asylum we lovingly call Washington, D.C.
I believe all we have to do is get the politicians back in sync with us. They got lost, we didn't. It's our turn now and we won't fail. Enjoy! I plan to.
