Nick or Treat
There I was, scrolling though your comments, when I came across a question from Bella M. Turns out she heard a rumor that Nickelodeon was airing a Monster High special this Sunday and I am here to confirm said rumor. It's true. Every bit of it.
At 12pm EST/PST and 11am Central, tune into Nick for a half hour Halloween special called:
Fitting in can be such a nightmare as we all know. And it's a terrifying first week at Monster High for new ghoul Frankie Stein as she struggles to fit in, stand out, and win over the most popular girl at school, Cleo De Nile.
The monsters will be dressed like the Dawn of The Dance party doll line which is being sold now.
Exhibit A: The dolls in their fab party outfits.
Exhibit B: The TV Divas in the same fab outfits. See? I don't lie.
While I had nothing to do with the Nick show I have to say it looks pretty freakin' fabulous and I will be watching as I prep my Halloween costume.
Are you all dressing up? What are you going to be? Share with the group, will ya? I was sworn to secrecy on my costume because we host a massive party every year and that's how I have to play it. We lay low like that. But I promise to post photos next week. My neighbor CiCi (10) and her two besties are dressing up as Frankie, Lala, and Clawdeen. I will post pictures of them too. The word is Monster High costumes are sold out online but are still available at Party City. So help out around the house tonight then beg your parents for a ride tomorrow.
SHOUT OUT TO BELLA M!!!! Thanks for the question.
HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!
TTYW,
Lisi Scarrison (What would your Halloween name be, you know, if you were dorky like me?)

Taming of the Spew
[image error][image error]I'm late. It's Thursday. I know…I'm so over the excuses as well, believe me. But I have a great one today. For the last 23 hours I was at home barfing into Ralph's bags (no pun intended). I swear. I had the stomach flu and the only thing I hate more than puking is puking into a toilet. Call me a diva but I seriously don't understand the logic behind sticking your head in a toilet bowl. Ew x 1000. I know it's efficient but so is biting into a cow instead of making a burger and I'm not going to do that either. The good news is I have recovered (thanks for asking) and am back in blah-g mode.
In honor of my horrendous day yesterday I am going to spew (pun intended) a bunch of random things at you…
* I have to wake up tomorrow at 4:30am so I can do a hours of back to back satellite radio interviews. When was the last time you said something intelligent at 4:30am? Wish me luck.
* I was at a charity fundraiser for Down Syndrome a few weeks ago and bid on R2D2 in an auction and I won! That's right the droid is all mine (for two hours). He walks, beeps, and is just as adorable as he is in the movies (only 10 pounds thinner). And I just confirmed that he will be coming to my house to help me give out candy on Halloween. But only until 7pm because it's a school night.
* I feel terribly guilty for not giving Alphas 3 -The Belle of the Brawl- a big announcement when it came out October 5th. I was on book tour and couldn't post. So I would like to give it some love now. I LOVE YOU BELLE OF THE BRAWL! READERS ARE SAYING YOU'RE THE BEST ALPHA'S YET. I DON'T LIKE TO PICK FAVES BUT I HAVE TO SAY YOU ARE UP THERE. AND THE COLOR OF YOUR COVER IS PERFECT FOR A COCKTAIL DRESS. MWAH!
*If you aren't following the Clique daily blah-g then you are hovering in LBR territory. Go to http://blogs.jointheclique.com/cliqueblog/ and tell us what you think. Today's topic. Taylor's rocker chic wardrobe. Would Dylan ah-dore or ab-hore?
* Remember her? [image error] Sassy Elizabeth McLaughlin? She was Massie in the Clique movie and how she's in a show called FIRST DAY. Elizabeth's character's name is Sasha, and she has a really cute monologue in episode one. The show is about a girl named Cassie who magically gets to repeat the first day of school over and over again until she gets it right. Here's a summary:
http://www.firstdaytheseries.com/about_the_show.html
* There will be an ah-dorable poster in the back of the final Clique book – Tale of Two Pretties. It's a little something for you to remember the girls by. (sniff sniff). Makes me sad to think about it but I'm almost finished writing it and I think you'll be pleased with the ending. I'm curious, how would you end it? Any thoughts?
SHOUT OUT TO: MICHELLE. Sorry I missed you last week.

DOLLARS AND SCENTS
CAFE HEIDELBERG
LAGUNA BEACH, CA
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14TH

Lisi: Hi. I'd like a tea latte to go please.
Cashier: That'll be six dollars.
Lisi: Here's a ten. Do you have change?
Cashier: Sure do, hot stuff.
Lisi: Then PLEASE four-give me!!!!!
-END SCENE
Yes, my loyal friends, that was my attempt to charm you back into my good graces. I am so sorry I didn't blah-g yesterday. Some of you were concerned (Brookie), others were understanding (Anita, Kaitlyn), Nina was downright "mad", and Claire was hilarious ("Hey Lisi, are you on your period? Then why are you late?"). Unfortunately x 10 my MACBOOK crashed- disc error! (thank Gawd for Apple Care). All has been restored and I am back. You know I would never leave you hanging unless I were actually hanging myself. And I was. Until my Apple Care rep talked me down. Thank you Nan.
Okay, let's leave the past behind for now and move forward, shall we? While I was on book tour, yes, I'm still talking about it, someone asked me if I had any rituals–things I do before I start writing that get me in the mood. So I shared:
1) I make sure my desk is clean and all crumbs from the day before have been dislodged from my keyboard.
2) I close my eyes and invite the characters I am going to be writing about to come out and play with me. I wait until I see them and hear them before moving on to step 3.
3) I light a candle while thinking of my intentions for the day. Usually: Stay focused and have fun.
The stranger then asked what kind of candle. To which I replied, "Scented. I get a new one for every book so each book has it's own fragrance attached to it."
And that's when I decided, right there in the school gym, to include the name of the candle and it's scent in every book I write from now on. How cool would it be if you got the same candle and lit it (with parents permission of course and and access to a fire extinguisher) while you were reading? We would be bonded in a massive way. Sharing one mind and nose. Like Avatars when they join tails. WHO'S WITH ME????
I CAN'T HEAR YOU??? I SAID WHO'S WITH ME?????
(Sound of millions of girls across the globe shouting I AM LISI I AM!)
BETTER.
So you know, Monster High 3 is being written to Fresh's SAKE (pronounced saw-key.)
Notes: Langsat Fruit, Grapefruit, Ginger, Lotus Flower, Lily of the Valley, Osmanthus, Vanilla, Musk. Rich, velvety, and luscious.
If you have any favorites you think I should try post them. If I use it I'll include your name in the book along with the name of the candle. Man I wish I thought to do this 28 books ago. Oh well, like I said, let's leave the past behind and move forward.

SHOUT OUT TO BOBBI-JEAN HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Boobie Prize
Maybe I shouldn't be telling you this but it's one of those things that's too juicy to keep to myself. In publishing there's a thing called an ARC- an advanced reader copy. It's a version of the book that goes out to reviewers and bookstore owners so they can get a feel for a new book before it hits the shelves. It's not a final version so ARCs are often full of mistakes and/or scenes that won't make it to the finished product.
Soooooo, when I was in Clinton, NJ on book tour a girl names Brielle (ah-dorable) had a Monster High ARC. She also bought a finished book. So I gave her a challenge. I said, see if you can figure out what got cut in the final book. Whelll, she posted a comment on last week's blah-g with her guess and I'm sad to say she guessed wrong. Or rather, she didn't guess what I wanted her to guess. And now I feeling like telling all of you because it was one of my favorite things in the entire book and I had to cut it because certain people thought it was too racy. But those certain people have no say when it comes to my website so I'm going to tell you. Take that certain people!
Okay, you know Candace, Melody's older sister? Well, she named her boobs Coco and Chloe after her favorite designers. She would consult them on wardrobe and ask them for advice. And that is gone. Coco and Chloe have been reduced (pun intended) to bit parts (pun intended) in this series. But I promise you this, I will have a character in a future series who WILL name her boobs and now you will know why. In the meantime, feel free to name yours.
I'm going to name my first ladies after some other fabulous first ladies- Michelle O and Jackie O.
Okay, I gotta bounce (pun intended)
TTYW,

I'm Bringing Stupidback
If I didn't love you all so much I'd be bitter because you're so dang clever. Turns out (as many of you mentioned) if you put your mouse over the photo it tells you what it has been saved as. And, well, yeah, I saved my Blah-g Teaser as JT becuase it is indeed Justin Timberlake. Nicely played my friends, nicely played.
But JT wasn't my only NYC celeb encounter: Webmaster JJ and I hung out late night with Kelly Cutrone (The City) at a cool spot called The Lion (had a blast, played matchmaker with strangers) and JJ was on the same flight as Leighton Meester. Spotted on an American Airlines flight from New York to Los Angeles…
And now for the rest of my tour shoutouts:
SHOUTOUT: Maddie and Avery- you girls are awesome. Thanks for being such fab fans.
SHOUTOUT: Nicole P and Jade S. thank you for your awesome letters.
SHOUTOUT: Valerie Corona. Thank you for this incredible drawing of Clawdeen Wolf. Seriously incredible [image error]
SHOUTOUT: Jeremey and Mickey for being the coolest boy fans a girl could have. When Jeremey saw me at the Brookline Library he waved like a mad man. I looked at him like he was crazy and said, "I think you think I'm someone else." He said," Aren't you Lisi Harrison?" I got all prickly and scared. "How do you know me?" I asked. And then my publicist Jessica said, "Um, Lisi, he's holding your book." GULP. The point is I've never had boy fans so I wasn't expecting them. But now that I have them I want to hold on to them forever. They were ah-mazing and knew everything about the Clique and Alphas. I can't wait to hear what they think of Monster High. Let me know, will ya?
SHOUTOUT: Arianna for giving me her fantastic manuscript. Keep writing sister. You have talent.
SHOUTOUT: Yanitza and the other GLU girls from San Antonio. I mean look at their shirts!!!
SHOUTOUT: The girl in NYC who made a sculpture of my name. And to this fine member of the NYPD who came to my signing at Barnes and Noble and bought a book. [image error]
When he walked in I thought I was getting busted for putting a few extra Splendid packets in my purse at Starbucks. Turns out his "daughter" was a fan
MASSIVE SHOUTOUT: To all of the teachers, librarians, and book sellers who welcomed me into their schools and stores on this tour. Thanks Bobby Shaw for this cake!!! [image error]
I truly had a blast meeting everyone and chatting with y'all . I'm off to start Monster High 3 now. Until we meet again…

Blah-G Teaser
After almost two weeks on the road–and countless chai lattes from the many Starbucks I visited in the many Barnes and Noble stores I went to–I'm back baby! My Monster High book tour left me with a monster high that came from meeting so many ah-mazing people. I went to Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Boston, NYC, and NJ. And while my hair still hasn't fully bounced back from the drying airplane air I have never been more proud to be a writer.
I have to admit that I was a little irritated by the idea of a book tour at first. Not becuase I didn't want to meet you guys. But because of my insane deadlines. And time away from my laptop meant more pressure when I returned. But once I got out there I quickly realized that it was exactly what I needed. So many of you gave me letters, art, photos, and massive hugs. It recharged my battery and made me want to write my heart out for you. And I will. Tomorrow. First I have to share some of the deets…
SHOUTOUT TO BOBBY SHAW MIDDLE SCHOOL in Houston, TX. Will you just look at these girls. They came in full Monster High costumes. [image error]
They made a MH cake, danced to the music video, and gave me pizza. I was so inspired I went out and got a costume of my own. This is me alone in my hotel room trying to snap a picture for you.
The pink boa shed all over the Blue Willow bookstore so from that point on I downgraded now and simply did the rest of my signings with pink spray on streaks in my hair. See? How voltage is that?
I sprayed everyone who came to the signings too. Who knows, I may be starting a new trend here. Or just making a lot of parents angry.
Okay I have more stories and tons of shout outs but I will have to continue to tomorrow because I am supposed to be meeting someone in 4 minutes. Sooooo I will leave you with this blah-g teaser and will be back tomorrow to check your answers and to finish our chat.
BLAH-G TEASER: Webmaster JJ flew all the way from Laguna Beach to NYC so we could hang for the last part of my tour (love her!) and guess who we saw walking around in SOHO… For the record JJ chased after this person. I waited on the corner of 6th Ave pretending I was too cool to care. So this picture came from her iPhone. Nawt mine. Guess who?

CRUSH LANDING
I promised I would give you some crush landing tips this week and so I shall.
Who's ready to break hearts???????
I can't hear you?????
I SAID WHO'S READY TO BREAK HEARTS????
That's better.
Let me start by saying I am not an expert boy magnet. Yes, I have had my share of dates, love letters, and mixed tapes (old school playlists-probably modern day landfill). I have indeed broken a few hearts over the years but have also had mine broken. (How do you like me now suckers?)
Anyway, I have learned a...

TAKE FIVE
Just hearing the phrase back-to-school revs my heart so much my body keeps mistaking it for cardio. I start sweating and panting and wishing it would end. On second thought, I might go chow a box of donuts then imagine I am starting a new grade so the calories don't stick.
THIRTY MINUTES LATER…
Okay that didn't work at all. I'm still panting but that's because my jeans are cutting off my circulation. The only way to fight calories is exercise and the only way to beat the back-to-school...

Stand By
I am trying to post a video interview and am having serious issues uploading. Webmaster JJ is working on it but it might take a while. Please be patient. I will post as soon as we have it all figured out.
If you are looking for something to do in the meantime go get Monster High. It comes out today… in case I haven't reminded you enough
