Kids We Were by Bernie Morris
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
"Kids We Were" is a nostalgic journey through childhood memories, where school mentors wielded 'justice,' and kids dealt with sibling rivalries and peer pressure. These stories touch on the basics of survival like food and clothing, painting a vivid picture of what kids thought was normal back then. With tales of love discoveries and unbreakable friendships, it's a time machine taking former kids back to the good old days, whispering reminders of the forces that shaped them into adults.

My Book Review on…
Find my happy by Rebecca Jane Dandy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars–
Great children’s book with nice illustrations. It emphasizes the importance of teaching children that experiencing various emotions is normal and encourages open communication. The book conveys that it’s okay to feel irritable or a little sad, assuring children that these emotions are temporary. Every parent should consider this book essential for their children’s well-being.

Ready, Set, Go to Grandma's by Sophia Carter-Parker –
My rating: 5 of 5 stars –
The story is so sweet, told through Cooper’s eyes as he describes his awesome relationship with his grandma. You get to dive into their moments together and the nice chats they have. It’s not just any grandma love—it’s that special, cozy kind that you can’t help but feel. The illustrations are spot-on. It’s like an invitation for little readers to think about their fun times with their grandparents. Cooper’s love for his grandma is front and center, and you’re right there with them through all the cool stuff they do together. Church trips, snack time—it’s like a snapshot of what hanging with your grandma is all about. Who hasn’t felt a bit spoiled by their grandma’s tender loving care? It’s relatable in the best way. In a nutshell, this book is like a warm hug, a real feel-good story about the awesome connection between a boy and his grandma

My Book Review on…
Bright Winter Night by Alli Brydon –
My rating: 5 of 5 stars –
It is a heartwarming story that’s perfect for those young or young at heart. A bunch of forest animals are getting together for an adventure to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. It’s like the ultimate winter tale! The book is all about cute critters, awesome poetry, and breathtaking illustrations coming together to tell the story of these animals on a mission to build a sleigh, have a blast, and share a magical experience. You can practically feel the warmth of their friendship as they team up and go on this wild ride on a cold winter night. They score big on this “Bright Winter Night.” This book is a hit for all ages. Little ones will enjoy the rhythmic phrases and the adorable animals playing in the snow. For the older kids, it’s not just about the fun but also about working together to make some magic happen. The font was a little small for my eyes, I was reading on my iPad, then I switched to my Mac since my desktop failed to load.

The Dragon Sanctuary by Ann Perry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars –
This book is a total blast with its dragon tales, wizard shenanigans, witchy wonders, and brave knights. The stories are short and perfect for those quick reads before bedtime. There’s a dash of moral wisdom at the end of each one. Highly recommend for all the parent storytellers out there!
