Why I stopped writing...

I started writing when around the age of 4. I was never seen without a notebook in hand, always jotting things down. During elementary school, I had a few of my poems published and always dreamt of writing a novel.

At the age of 16, my family moved to Arizona. I had 2 boxes filled with things that I had written. When we moved, somehow my 2 boxes got pulled from the truck and placed back inside the house. I don't know who did it or why, but it happened. When we arrived in Arizona, I discovered they were missing. Thankfully, my dad was still living in Michigan because of work so at least we still had the house. He swore that when he came back down, he would bring them to me.

A short time before his return trip, the house burned to the ground and everything was lost. I was completely destroyed and couldn't write after that. I had not written a thing in over 10 years.

The Blood Moon of Winter is the first thing that I wrote after the long absence. I'm so glad that I finally got over the hump of writer's block/depression.

R. A. Evans, author of Asylum Lake approached me to see if I would be a guest blogger on his site. I reluctantly agreed, having never blogged a day in my life. I did put together a little something on how to break past writer's block. Check it out.
