Breaking Pointby Susan Hayes

Lexa Fox lost her childhood the day her mother took her and fled Sunset Point. Twenty-three years later, she’s returning to claim her inheritance from a father she barely remembers, in a place she doesn’t belong.
Detectives Beau Rivers and Diego Mendez grew up in ménage families and always knew they’d be a trio if they could find the right woman. They’d found her once, but fate took her out of their lives long before they were old enough to stake their claim. No woman since has ever managed to live up to their memories of Lexa, so when fate brings their childhood sweetheart back into their lives, they do everything they can to convince their gray-eyed, world-weary beauty to stay.
There are dangers to be faced and enemies to overcome, but in the end it’s up to her men to show her that some hearts never give up hope, and some loves have no Breaking Point.

Introducing Zayne Michaels

Zayne's fascination with old and discarded treasures has always been a source of inspiration for her tales. From antique clocks to old, dilapidated houses, her imagination turns to the "what ifs" and "what used to bes."
Maybe this love for the abandoned is why she is a firm advocate of second chances, or perhaps she's just a little crazy. Whatever the reason, Zayne believes everyone chooses their own path, creates their own destiny, and is the author of their own story.
BLOOD REDOnce Upon a Midnight MoonAvailableNow From Amazon!

Lincoln Chastain never imagined the infamous Red Siren would turn out to be his intended. He can’t deny the attraction between them, but nor can he allow a pretty face to distract him from his quest for retribution.
Sometimes, things aren’t as black and white as they seem and finding the truth will come with a price. Will the secrets they discover give the mated pair the happy ending they desire? Or will the lies and greed of others destroy them before they’ve even started?
EXCERPTLincoln, big badass he professed to be, actually stumbled backward. “What are you doing? Are you…are you seducing me?”“Depends.” Declan shrugged. “Is it working?”“Are you doing that siren thing you do?”“Lincoln, I’m not actually a siren. I’m a muse.” Adding a little extra sway to his hips, he gripped the hem of his oversized sweater—Lincoln’s sweater to be exact—and slid the fabric up his torso. “Are you inspired yet, or should I keep going?” Unlike a siren, a muse didn’t seduce with his voice. When Declan amped up the juju, he secreted pheromones through the exhalation of each breath. These pheromones didn’t create obsessive behaviors but had more of an influential effect, creating a sense of calm, tranquility, and enlightenment. Hence, his ability to inspire creative minds. In Lincoln’s case, though, he really was just seducing him. Sue me.“I think it’s working.” Lincoln’s voice dropped an octave and took on a husky quality that sent a shiver of desire down Declan’s spine. “Maybe you should keep going.”Almost there. Stripping the soft cotton shirt off over his head, he tossed it behind him and smoothed one palm down his flexing abs. “How about now?” Abandoning his powers as a muse, he simply allowed his body to do the talking. “Come on, Lincoln. I’m not so fragile. I promise I won’t break.”“I think I’m starting to feel something.” His hand went to his groin to cup his swelling cock. “Yeah, definitely feeling something in this general region.”Declan tugged the string on his sleep pants, loosening the waistband so that the fabric slid down his hips. “And now?” Lincoln’s control finally snapped, and he took two long strides to close the gap between them, wrapping Declan in his strong, capable arms. Game over, cowboy. Oh, Declan did love winning.“You make me crazy, angel.” The heat pouring from his mate scorched him, but he reveled in the burn. No one had ever wanted him like Lincoln wanted him—pure, true, and without reservation. Okay, maybe with a little reservation, but he felt they were moving past that. Fisting one hand in Declan’s hair, Lincoln jerked his head back on his shoulders and laid siege to his mouth, coming up long minutes later to gasp for breath. “This probably won’t end well.”“Probably not,” Declan agreed. Sure, the idea of a real relationship scared the hell out of him. He could crawl back to Cashel if things didn’t work out with Lincoln, but frankly, the idea held no appeal. He didn’t hate Cashel necessarily, but nor did he want to continue to be someone’s puppet. Things weren’t like that with Lincoln. Declan never had to worry that the next order would be the one that finally broke him. The silence stretched on while Lincoln considered him, clearly warring with himself over how to proceed. “Be sure, mon bel ange. Be very sure.” Yes, he understood the risks, but from where he stood, the benefits far outweighed the potential consequences. “I am.”A fierce, possessive growl was his only warning before Lincoln lifted him off the floor and encouraged Declan’s legs around his waist. One hand tangled in his hair while the other held a firm grip on his ass, and Lincoln attacked his mouth with an urgency that left Declan’s head spinning.Their tongues tangled and twined, sliding together in a passionate duel, and Declan moaned in wanton delight as he rocked against his lover. Raw, untainted desire possessed him, and he dug his fingers into Lincoln’s shoulders, desperate to be closer. The response surprised him, even startled him a bit. He couldn’t catch his breath, but the scary part was he didn’t care. No one had ever elicited this kind of response from him. No one had pushed him so close to the brink with nothing more than a kiss.“Lincoln, please.” His plea came as a breathy whimper while his mate kissed along the column of his neck. “I can’t wait.” His insides burned like molten lava, and his nerve endings sizzled with every touch. “Patience, angel,” Lincoln rasped before nipping at his earlobe.A knock at the door pulled an uncharacteristic growl from Declan’s lips, and Lincoln’s answering chuckle did nothing to improve his mood. “Who the hell is that?”“My guess would be the delivery guy.”“Tell him to go away.” Declan was starving, but not for fried rice or egg rolls. Lincoln scraped his teeth over Declan’s shoulder and laughed again as he spun them toward the door. “Grab my wallet.” He nodded toward the end table beside them. With a grumbling sigh, Declan leaned to the side to retrieve the wallet, but once upright, he couldn’t resist another taste of his lover’s lips. Lincoln didn’t protest, even sliding his fingers into the waistband of Declan’s cotton pants to skim along his crease as he stumbled toward the front door. With their mouths still fused together, Lincoln secured Declan with one hand and reached behind him with the other to turn the knob. “Pay the man,” he ordered, grabbing both bags and dropping them to the floor inside the foyer.Declan threw the wallet at the delivery man’s head, reached over Lincoln’s shoulder, and slammed the door before returning to his task with a needy groan. Threading his fingers through his lover’s hair, he delved between Lincoln’s lips, leaving no crevice unexplored.“Now?” he begged. His dick ached, throbbing painfully between his thighs as he rocked against his mate’s cobblestone abs like a bitch in heat.“Now,” Lincoln rumbled in response, tripping toward the sofa and virtually throwing Declan down on the cushions.Rummaging through the drawer of the end table while he attempted to undress himself one-handed, Lincoln proved to be the ultimate multi-tasker. Though distracted by the sight of his lover’s long, thick cock, Declan still had enough sense about him to question the availability of the lube Lincoln tossed onto the couch beside him.“You keep lube in the living room?” He held up the clear, plastic bottle and arched an eyebrow.“I live alone,” Lincoln answered as he dove on top of him, insinuating himself between Declan’s legs. “Where else do you think I watch porn?”
Behind the ScenesQ: What do you feel is the hardest part of the writing process?Knowing when to let go. With every story, I always think there is something that could be just a little bit better. I could spend forever tweaking my stories if I don’t stop myself, and then they’d never see the light of day.
Q: How do you keep your characters and stories organized?Whiteboards, spreadsheets, notes, tables, and just about anything else I can find to write on. Plus, my betas are amazing at keeping me organized and on track.
Q: Are you plot or character driven? Please elaborate. That’s a hard one, and I really think it depends on the story. If the characters come to me first, the story tends to follow the personality of the characters. If I get an idea for a storyline before the characters come to me, then that book is normally more plot driven. I suppose you could say I’m versatile.
Q: What is the one thing you must have to be able to write?Re-runs of some of my favorite shows on in the background. I’ve watched them so many times, they don’t distract me. I can’t write when I’m listening to music, and I can’t write with absolute silence. This seems to work for me, though.
Q: Have you ever gotten writer’s block? How do you get past it?Yes, I absolutely have. Though, I prefer to think of it as writer’s distress. I had stories in my head to be told, but I couldn’t concentrate or focus long enough to get them down on paper. So, I took a leave of absence, if you will, and gave the Muse some time to settle and recharge before diving back into the writing pool.
Q: What are you currently working on? How is it different from other books you’ve written?Writing as Zayne Michaels is a lot like having another personality. These stories tend to be darker, and things aren’t always tied up in a nice pretty bow. I just finished the second book in the Once Upon a Midnight Moon series, and am currently working on a M/M contemporary.
Q: When is your favorite time of day to write?I usually take the graveyard shift when it comes to writing. I’m not a morning person, and the earlier I wake up, the longer it seems to take me to get moving. So, I usually sleep during the day and write during the night when everyone else is sleeping.

READ THE FIRST CHAPTER HERE
BEHIND THE SCENES
Q: Tell us about your writing routine.A: I start off by rereading what I last wrote, get a solid 1500 words in, and handle something from the rest of my life and give my hands a rest. Normally it’s exciting, like dishes, laundry, feeding pup, or whatnot and that’s when I plot what I’m writing next and get back to it for another 1500 words. And I do that all day until I feel comfortable I’ve done the best I can with my characters or until my hands feel ready to fall off.
Q: Do you write with a sense of where big, interconnected series (for instance, The Marius Brothers/Beyond the Marius Brothers/The O’Hagen Way) are going to end up in terms of plot that develops from book to book, or do you just let it flow and see where it goes?A: Both actually. I have a master plan for the world while adding new and interesting characters while matching up happy couples. There’s also a lot of times where I’m writing and go, “oh, wait, I so have to do it this way and let the chips fall where they may.” Writing is telling a story is always fluid and has to be adaptable.
Q: You’ve killed off some pretty nasty villains in your books. Are there any you wish you could have spared?A: Nope, but there are some I wish I could kill all over again. Some I feel I let off too easily, but my favorite is still the guy Shea Mayer killed by ripping off his arms and beating him to death with them.
Q: What’s the most memorable sex scene from one of your books? Why?A: If I’d have to pick it would be from Spencer’s Secret: Wolf Harem #2. For one, I wrote it after a couple of drinks and blushing. It’s four men, several world famous Portillo’s chocolate cakes, and dessert like I’ve never gotten to experience.
Q: You’ve written in a variety of subgenres. Which is your favorite?A: That’s like picking my favorite family member. Just like any artist, I love all the mediums I use and ways I get to tell a story.
Q: What person, record, and book would you take with you to a desert island?A: Yeah, I’m so cheating because I can’t pick just one. Jensen Ackles, Jay Ryan, and Ian Somerhalder would all be coming with me. I’m too eclectic of a music lover to pick just one, so my whole iPod would be coming and same with my reading addiction so my Kindle Fire as well.
Q: One of your books is going to be adapted into a film. Which one? And who plays the main characters?A: Tristan: Resistant Omegas #1 & Chad Michael Murray. I have no idea really. That just popped into my head first. I guess I don’t dream that big.
Q: Obviously you have a ton of fun. What would be your ideal night out?A: There would be some form of laws broken I’m sure so I don’t ever want to write it all down as evidence.
Q: Your humor is greatly appreciated among your readers. How do you know when the timing is right to add humor to your stories?
A: When things get too sad or real. But if things get too goofy I normally blow something up. A good story is like a roller coaster and if I haven’t made someone feel a range of emotions then I haven’t done my job as an author.

~ * ~ * ~ * ~
Chapter One
She was being punished, she was sure of it.
Caitlyn Watson heaved out a deep sigh as she silently prayed that this day would be over soon. It had started out as a stellar morning when Caitlyn had gotten caught in San Francisco traffic, and the asshole in front of her hadn’t been paying attention when they had gotten the signal to turn left. After several seconds of laying on her horn, the jerk had finally moved, but she had still gotten caught at a light after he had turned just as the light turned red.
Then the trolley had come and the she was stuck for another round as she missed the turn signal again, this time getting honked by the car behind her. Like it was really her fault that she didn’t go through the light and hit a trolley full of people. Maybe she could have, but in reality she didn’t want to go to jail for manslaughter just because she was late to work.
She had pulled into the parking lot of Manchester Klein to find that the only spot available within a mile of the entrance was between two huge trucks that looked like they could have shit her mini coop out, and still had room for more. Once she had crawled out the driver’s side of her car, she realized that she had slammed the door on her suit jacket…after she pulled away and heard the sound of the material ripping.
With no other option available to her, she had walked toward the building, painfully aware that the seam in the back of her suit jacket was now torn when the right heel of her favorite pair of shoes had gotten caught in a crack on the sidewalk and had broken off with a snap. At least it was Friday and she didn’t have any client meetings scheduled today.
Inside the safety of the building, she had entered the elevator holding her poor, broken shoe in her hand. Caitlyn told herself to wait until later to lament her comfortable, basic black pumps as she limped off the elevator and made her way to her desk. Slinking over to her desk by the front window, she dropped her briefcase down next to her broken shoe and opened her lower desk drawer. Looking down, she eyed the pair of bright red shoes there with resignation and, if she were honest with herself, a little bit of fear.

Welcome Diane Leyne!

I'm originally from a small town in Nova Scotia but grew up in Toronto where I still live. In addition to reading (all types of books) and writing, my loves include photography and travel (over 20 countries and counting). And I'd love to hear from my fans!
Call of the Wolf Series: Claimed by WolvesAMAZON| BOOKSTRAND

She's surprised by her immediate attraction to the five McAllister brothers: sexy big brother and pack alpha Gabe, hot carpenter twins Bart and Nick, and young and sweet fitness trainer twins Eddie and Andy. She's even more surprised when they all decide to pursue her.
What she doesn't know is that the wolf-dog shape-shifting brothers have recognized her as their mate and are determined win her over so she'll agree to a formal mating ceremony which will tie her to them forever.
The only holdout is Gabe, who worries about mating with a human and wants to learn more about her before revealing their secret. To do this, he decides to spy on her in wolf-dog form. That's when he finds out that Samantha has a secret of her own.
STORY EXCERPT
She’d stopped to check out some of the books on display and had bumped right into a rather large man coming from the opposite direction.
He had quick reflexes and had saved her from tumbling over and righted them both. Samantha found she had to look up at the buff young man, not that he was too young. He looked to be in his mid or maybe late twenties and clearly worked out at the gym whose logo was prominently displayed on the tank top he was wearing.
She had to force herself to step back. Reluctantly, the stranger released his grip.
She looked him up and down. From the distance of a few feet, she could see that his top also displayed his nicely sculpted arms and hinted at a six-pack. Above the top, she could see an easy grin, short sandy hair, and blue eyes. He had a nice smile and wasn’t shy about using it. She wondered if he was single. She wasn’t looking for a relationship because she planned leaving when the summer was over, but maybe a fling?
But then it hit her. For a second after they’d bumped, her nose had been buried in his nicely developed chest. He was wolf.
“Andy McAllister.” He held out his hand and waited.
“Samantha Anderson.” She held out her hand, and it was quickly engulfed by his larger one. She could feel a snap of electricity and almost tried to pull her hand away.
“Nice to meet you, Samantha Anderson. New in town?”
“I’ve living at what I understand is called the Daniels place.”
She watched his eyes narrow as he processed this information. Then his grin returned. “Then you’ll be staying in town. Great. Might I suggest a trial membership here at Bodies in Harmony. Not that I’m implying there’s anything at all wrong with your body, not in the slightest. You clearly work out and have done a superb job. I’m just suggesting that if you plan on living here, our club would be an excellent place for you to visit. In fact, I’d like to offer myself up as your personal trainer.” He grinned expectantly. Samantha found herself grinning back.
“I’m guessing you are one of the owners.”
“My twin brother Eddie and I own the place. And I’m sure Eddie would love to meet you, too. Perhaps we could both train you?” He winked at her.
Samantha felt her mouth go dry. Surely the very nice young man wasn’t suggesting what she thought he was suggesting. Maybe she would have that fling. And if his brother was as cute as he was, maybe she’d go wild in Harmony.
Just then, the door to the gym opened. Out came two men. One looked to be about the same age as Andy. They weren’t identical, but they had the same coloring and build. This clearly was his twin Eddie.
The other man was a little bit older than the other two, maybe midthirties, and whereas the twins smiled winsomely at her, this new man glared. . Big brother Gabe? There was definitely a family resemblance. He had thick dark hair that was almost to his shoulders. His features were not conventionally handsome, but he had a magnetic presence. And he looked like the big bad wolf as he stared at her.
“Eddie, Gabe. Meet Samantha Anderson. She’s staying at the Daniels place, and I’m trying to convince her to come work out at Bodies in Harmony. Ed, I told her we’d both be happy to train her.”
“Oh, absolutely, Miss Anderson.”
“Please, all of you, please call me Samantha or Sam.”
“Well, Sam. Welcome to town and to Bodies. Anytime you want a joint or even a private training session, please give us a call. We’d be glad to oblige. How long do you plan to stay in Harmony? A good long time, I hope.”
She smiled. She could see they were all anxious to hear her answer, but whereas the twins looked like they were interested in her as a potential conquest, Gabe looked angry. She decided to play with him. “Well, I bought the place, actually. I came into some money and wanted to get as far away from Florida as I could, for reasons I would rather not discuss.” She smiled inwardly as she could practically read the thoughts running through each of their minds as they assumed she’d had a love affair gone bad. “Anyway, Mrs. Daniels had this, she described it as a vacation cabin that sounded wonderful. I came into a small inheritance, and one thing led to another and here I am.”
“And how glad we are that you are here,” declared Eddie. “Right, Andy?”
“And what about your friend here? He doesn’t look glad I’m here.”
“Oh, Gabe. Ignore him. He’s always grumpy.”
“Calm down, boys. Give her some breathing space.” His voice, like his hair, was darker than the others’, but he was clearly related. His voice was similar, but deeper and harsher. He was taller than his brothers, but of a more slender build. He clearly didn’t spend the same amount of time in the gym as they did, but she’d bet he looked pretty fine under his clothes. His hair was jet black and a bit long like he needed a trim but just couldn’t be bothered, but he had the same intense blue eyes as his brothers.
And even from this distance, she could sense wolf. But the scent was different than his brothers’. It was stronger, more primal. She didn’t just recognize it but she felt it calling out to her on a primitive level. She’d found his brother, well, both brothers actually, attractive, and she’d already toyed with the idea of a fling, but now that she’d met Gabe, she realized that she felt desire, and that alarmed her. She’d just met this man, hadn’t spoken with him or touched him, not even his hand, and she realized she was afraid to. Something about him, either the man or the wolf, called to her on a level that she didn’t even want to think about.
Behind the Scenes with Diane Leyne
Ø What inspired you to write your first book? I'm like a lot of writers. I love to read. I read a lot, all genres. One day when I was on the Siren Publishing site looking for some new books to download I saw the "submit" button and clicked on it. The rest is history.Ø Is there a message in your novel that you hope readers walk away with? I always try to make my heroines strong women. They may have issues to deal with and the heroes may come to the rescue at times, but in the, the hero makes their lives richer (emotionally), but they are not "half a person" without him/them (yes, my heroines often end up with multiple men!)Ø What are your current projects? I just finished book 4 in the Libertine Island Series. I'm now working on Books 3 & 4 for the Call of the Wolf series and am considering doing a Prequel to tell the story of how the Harmony Pack was formedØ Name one person you feel supported you outside of family members. I have to name a group, my fellow Siren writers are an amazing bunch who support each other and made me feel very welcome when I released my first book.Ø What are your ambitions for your writing career? I'd love to get to the point where I can write full time, but I just had my first book published last February, so I have a way to go.Ø Give us an insight into your main character. What does he/she do that is so special? Samantha Anderson is from a shape-shifting family, but the women in the pack don't shift. And her branch of the family has rejected their shape-shifting heritage. It's her grandmother who made Samantha promise to visit Harmony and learn about that part of herselfShe's special because she stands up for herself which isn't easy against an Alpha. When Gabe decides to spy on her in shifted form because she's new to town and he's hesitant about a human as a mate, she doesn't take it lying down and teaches him a lesson, hilariously according to my readers.Ø What genre are your books? My books are Contemporary/Erotica. Claimed by Wolves is my first Paranormal Romance. I also try to include at least a touch of humor in my books. And Claimed by Wolves includes my first extended humorous scene which has been very well received.Ø What draws you to this genre? I'm new to Paranormal, but I love it because it lets you make up your own rules. You can let your imagination run wild.Ø Why do you write? I have stories to tell. Simple as that. :) And I'm lucky enough that people seem to want to read them.

LEGENDS OF AVALON: DRAGON TAMERAVAILABLE FROM AMAZON

EXCERPT
Aden seized one of the knights. Tjaden’s eyebrows furrowed. He clearly couldn’t see the error that had allowed Aden to claim his piece. He hadn’t deliberately sacrificed the knight, though he could have if he’d been paying more attention to the games.
Aden licked his lips in a reptilian fashion. “Remove your tunic,” he commanded. Surprise flickered in his expression before the defiance built in Tjaden’s gaze. Aden’s eyes narrowed and smoke rose from his nostrils in a darkening cloud. “As per our agreement. You owe me a boon for claiming a higher piece.”
A muscle in Tjaden’s jaw ticked, but he obeyed, unbuckling the belt at his waist before drawing his tunic over his head and then folding it neatly into a pile next to him. Aden was again struck by the human’s beauty. He was quite intriguing. The idea of keeping Tjaden as a servant appealed more and more as the game wore on.
Their game resumed, and it wasn’t long before Tjaden sat naked in front of their match, his clothing in the same neat pile that he’d started. His arrogance was fading in slow degrees with every advancement Aden made.
“Och,” Tjaden murmured under his breath. “You’ve quite a wicked mind, dragon.”
“And you quite a wicked body, human. We’re both paying for my curiosity.” The idea of distracting Tjaden had backfired. Aden was the one distracted by Tjaden’s naked flesh.
The first board was almost empty by the time Aden gave a slow, triumphant smile. “Checkmate.” A string of curses exited the human’s mouth that would’ve made a sailor proud. “Regretting your choice of game yet, boy?”
“Tjaden,” the boy said in a steady voice. “Tjaden or Moore, whichever you prefer. But I’m not a boy or a lad or anything resembling a bairn. I’m a man.”
Yes, yes you are. He wasn’t normally so intrigued by human nakedness. “Fine. Tjaden then.”
Their game resumed with two chess boards remaining. Then something surprising happened. Aden started to lose.
He frowned, studying the boards closely. He couldn’t figure out where the traps were, but he was certain they were there. Without intending to, he’d fallen into the mindset that Tjaden’s human inferiority would also make him an inferior chess player. Like poker, chess required a bit of bluff. I’m going to lose. Everything in him rebelled at the thought, but he could say with a reasonable degree of certainty that he’d been set up nice and proper. The little sneak had let him win the previous match on purpose.
He gritted his teeth, unwilling to let Tjaden know he understood his strategy. Maybe there was time to correct the boards...
“Checkmate,” Tjaden said, smiling softly.
His eyes zeroed back on the board he’d been ignoring while he tried to correct the third board. A low growl issued from his throat before he could resist it. He abhorred being bested by a human, even a handsome one. “Tricky, tricky, Tjaden Moore. I won’t underestimate you again.”
“You’ve already lost, wee dragon, and you know it.” The human sounded downright giddy as he spoke.
“The game has not concluded as of yet,” Aden reminded. However, the human was correct. He was going to lose. Sighing heavily, he pouted. It wasn’t the most dignified way to conduct himself, but it was the only way he could resist the urge to lash out in frustration.
When Tjaden called checkmate for the final time, Aden was unsurprised. It’s only one day. One day as a human being. I don’t remember it being too terrible of an existence. He comforted himself with the knowledge.
“Per our agreement, Aden Canicus, I command you to assume human form,” Tjaden said, staring up into Aden’s eyes.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Q: What can we expect from you in the future?
A: Definitely more Legends from Avalon, a new series called Sidhe Bound, a Steampunk novella called Clockwork Romance, and a full-length novel called Twisted Roses where all the fun legends from Legends of Avalon and Sidhe Bound come from.
Q: What can readers who enjoy your book do to help make it successful?
A: Leave reviews, spread the links, and let people know what you thought of my piece.
Q: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
A: I’ve wanted to be a writer since I could hold up a pencil in elementary school
Q: How long does it take you to write a book?
A: It really depends on the book and how well the words are flowing. Sometimes, it goes really fast and I can finish a piece in a couple days. Other times I will be working on a piece half that length and it will take four times as long.
Q: Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
A: I am a little bit of a research nerd so I tend to do a lot of it. Sometimes a little piece of history or an odd fact will strike me and that will inspire a whole slew of new ideas.
Q: What do you like to do when you're not writing?
A: When I’m not writing I like to park my butt on the couch and watch TV. Right now I’m really into Under the Dome and Grimm.
Q: What do you think makes a good story?
A: A good story will take the readers on a journey. Even if it is a story purely for entertainment, the story should pull them along and immerse them in whatever situation your character is in.

Excerpt
“Aleks, hey, buddy,” Liam said lazily.
“Hey, asshole,” Aleks replied sounding distracted.
“I just wanted to call and let you know that you’ll be picking up Rebecca at my house for your date.” Liam waited. Three, two, one and… He held the phone away from his ear at the roar.
“What the hell is she doing at your house, cat!” Aleks roared. Liam smiled. He was making this too easy.
“Well at the moment her luscious little self is in my shower and wait, yes, I smell coconuts. She’s bathing.” He held the phone away from his ear again at the roar, unaware that everyone had stopped what they were doing to listen.
“If you so much as lay one finger on her, cat, I will rip you apart.” Aleks growled.
“What was that, Rebecca, you need help getting into your dress? Don’t worry, kitten, I’m coming. Sorry, Aleks, have to run. Toodles.” He stayed on the line long enough for one last roar to come through before disconnecting the line.
He turned around whistling and saw everyone staring.
“What?” he asked
“Aleks Arkadion is going to kill you,” Ashby said, white as a sheet.“No he isn’t. If he didn’t kill me for wrecking his Charger, he won’t kill me now,” he said sitting down on the sofa. He reached over and grabbed a magazine and started to flip through the pages.
“That was you?” Rian asked, his eyes wide.
Liam just chuckled.
* * * *
“Aleks. Can’t. Breathe,” Liam said as Aleks’s hand squeezed his throat.
Aleks was surprised at the lack of interference he was getting from the pride. They just shrugged their shoulders.
“Ashby told him you were going to kill him,” Rian said.
“Where is Ashby?” Aleks asked, his hand still around Liam’s throat.
“He’s upstairs finishing Rebecca’s hair. Nicholas did her makeup. She put in a lot of effort for you, bear, so you better not fuck this up,” Rian said, his arms crossed.
Aleks raised an eyebrow. The pride seemed to be more protective of Rebecca than their Alpha, whom he had pinned to the wall by the throat.
“Oh for God’s sake, Aleks, let him go! You’ll upset Rebecca and ruin your evening before it begins,” Kate said, coming down the stairs. Aleks immediately dropped Liam.
“Kate, why are you here?” he asked.
“Why would I miss the opportunity for actual girl time? We don’t have much of that at the pack,” she said, swiping a piece of chocolate.
Aleks opened his mouth to say something when the door upstairs opened and Rebecca appeared at the top of the stairs. Her scent hit his nose, and he felt his chest constrict. How could he have possibly thought he could stay away from her? She made her way down the stairs with Nicholas and Ashby following behind her. She moved gracefully, and when she got to the bottom of the stairs, he got the full effect of the dress. It had tiny spaghetti straps that seemed to accent her shoulders. The black dress only seemed to display her creamy skin to its every advantage. The lone slit up one side was nearly his undoing. He didn’t realize he was growling until Liam hit him in the ribs. Rebecca just blushed and smiled at him.
“Ready?” he asked, holding out a slightly trembling hand. She nodded and moved forward, taking his hand.
“Goodnight, everyone, thank you, for everything,” she said, smiling at the room.
“Have her back before midnight, young man,” Liam said, standing in front of the pair.
“Out of the way, cat,” Aleks muttered. Rebecca stepped forward and gave him a hug.
Aleks growled. She ignored him.
“Goodnight, Liam.” She kissed his cheek. Aleks growled again.
“I’m serious though, if you don’t want to go back to the bed-and-breakfast we made up a guest room for you. That’s where Sebastian has been hiding. I let Leona know you may be staying here,” Liam said, smiling down at her.
“Watch him for me?” she asked. Liam nodded.
“Who’s Sebastain?” Aleks asked. Rebecca waved.
“Goodnight, everyone.” She started walking toward the door.
“Who’s Sebastian?” Aleks asked again walking out the door with his arm around her waist.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Q: Do you have any unique talents or hobbies?
A: I’m a fast reader J I can usually do about 100 pages per hour, I wish I could write that fast!
Q: What can we expect from you in the future?
A: Definitely a whole lot more in the Arkadia universe. As of right now I have two additional series planned based in the same world. I’m also kicking around a futuristic/space story line.
Q: What can readers who enjoy your book do to help make it successful?
A: Tell their friends and leave reviews!! I love reviews J I keep them all.
Q: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
A: When I was six. My book collection was minimal and I was too little to go to the library. That’s when I realized I could create my own stories. I’ve been doing it ever since.
Q: How long does it take you to write a book?
A: That really depends. If I’m focused, have copy and shiny objects are to a minimum, then about two weeks. If I can’t seem to get the story going two months.
Q: What is your work schedule like when you're writing?A: I work a full time job as an Operations Manger so I put in 50-60 hours a week doing that. My writing schedule is squeezed in around those hours.
Q: What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
A: If I’m stuck I eat Red Hots. Have no idea why it helps, but it does.
Q: Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
A: Google is my friend. Google is my kryptonite (shiny object) when I’m trying to write. It starts like this. Hmm I wonder what is the gestation period for bears is. Ohhh cute picture of a baby bear. I wonder what a baby hyena looks like. Little hyenas are cute, grown ones look mean. Oh yeah they are getting tortured by Payne, I wonder what medieval torture devices I can write about. Holy shit!! I can never unsee that!! Hmmm how does that work. That’s just wrong! That looks like a nipple ring lol. Ohhh nipple clamps. BDSM tools of the trade…. What in the hell is a cock cage? LMFAO ha ha ha ha….hmm…. What was I doing?
Q: What do you like to do when you're not writing?
A: Read, I love to read.
Q: What does your family think of your writing?
A: My entire family is 100% supportive, they know exactly what I write. My mom insists she is my biggest fan and has read both of my books lol.
Q: How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
A: I have two published but a ton more written. I will always love Fate Knows Best since it’s my first published, but my fantasy novella will always have a special place in my heart. It may be dug out later,, you never know.
Q: Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
A: When Fate Knows Best was released, I started hearing from readers almost immediately. I was as spazzy as a caffeinated squirrel. So far nearly all my communications have been positive.
Q: What do you think makes a good story?
A: I think making the characters realistic, slightly flawed and quirky. I also love falling in love with the characters. I can usually forgive a lot in a book if I like the characters.
Q: As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
A: Ok, as a result of a childhood of reading adult fantasy, I wanted to go on an epic quest with elves and knights, fight in a huge battle and then rule as queen. Yeah. I’m still working on that.
