Last night’s reading in Hamburg, Germany was in the cargo hold of this boat! (The ladies in front work at my German publisher, Carlsen Verlaag and they are AWESOME.)

I cannot convey how strange and amazing this event was. Beneath the waterline, in a huge space lined with old timber, we read in German and English to an incredible crowd. And during the Q&A, a reader compared the Grisha to Jedi. I nearly keeled over in my joy.

I’ll post more photos soon and try to give a better recap. For now, I’ll just say that I’m truly sad to be leaving this city and the lovely people at Carlsen Verlaag behind.

Now, on to Belfast and TitanCon!

Shadow and Bone live-action dreamcast - Genya - Anna O’Byrne

‘She was easily the most beautiful person I’d ever seen. her wavy hair was deepest auburn, her irises large and golden; her skin was so smooth and flawless that she looked as if her perfect cheekbones had been carved from marble. She wore a cream-coloured kefta embroidered in gold and lined in reddish fox fur.’

I don't think this is too spoilerish, but, in terms of page count, will Siege and Storm be shorter or longer than Shadow and Bone? Or is it about the same length?

Siege and Storm is about 20% longer than Shadow and Bone. I think? My math skills are shoddy at best.
