So excited for The Mortal Instruments, but dreading the onslaught of articles about WHAT IT ALL MEANS and WILL BOYS GO SEE THIS MOVIE?? And PLEASE WON’T SOMEONE THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN???
Can we maybe just say that people like good stories well told and get the hell over it?

Sarah Rees Brennan: Texas You Are The Bestest!
I have some news I was told two days ago and finally get to share with you now!
Unspoken has been chosen to be on the TAYSHAS reading list!

Ally Carter and Jennifer Lynn Barnes, talking about how nervous I was about Unspoken, having them persuade me not to…
She said… she said… my little fangirl heart CAN’T TAKE IT.
The Dudes of YA, a "Lit-Erotic" Photo Spread
So author Sean Beaudoin convinced a bunch of male YA writers to do a spoof on a “sexy male YA author” photo spread for is blog The Weeklings. I basically just did it because Josh Berk and I are in a long-standing competition over who can make the biggest fool of himself in public. I’m still puzzling over who won this round…
Anyway, I don’t actually feel emasculated or marginalized being a male YA writer, but it’s funny and features some of the all time best author photos ever.
(although I’m pretty sure the last one is fake)
SO. FUNNY.
This. Is. Spectacular. But some of the gents of YA are conspicuously absent. Also, Lish is hot.
Thank you, Texas!
So honored! Shadow and Bone has been chosen for @yartxla’s Lone Star AND Tayshas reading lists.
I have to say, the librarians, bloggers, and booksellers of Texas have been really kind to this debut author. Can’t wait to be back for another visit and HUG EVERYONE. Prepare yourselves!

Have you ever toured in Canada? Or will you be soon? *fingers crossed*:D
I haven’t but I’d love to! I’m not sure how to make this happen. If I did wheedle some Canadian tour dates, which cities should I shoot for?
Have you ever listened to El tango De Roxanne? Christian's part kind of reminds me of the Darkling and Alina. And I LOVED your book
All except the “you’re free to leave me” part ;) I love this.
And thank you! So happy you liked Shadow and Bone.
btw, I ADORE Moulin Rouge. I… once watched it on the elliptical and ended up full on sobbing at the gym. The lesson here is DON’T GO TO THE GYM.
