So I’m super excited for Siege & Storm! Which is the follow up to Leigh Bardugo’s book Shadow & Bone. Seriously, if you haven’t read it, you should be running out and buying it, ordering it from your local library or borrowing it from a friend!!

I LOVE THIS BOOK.

Recently Jennifer Rush { Author of the Young Adult Novel: Altered } created these wonderful makeshift magazine covers for Mal & Darkling!

Who might these two boys be you ask?

GO READ THE BOOK AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF.

Oo and don’t forget to choose a side! ;)

Y’know what “Game of Thrones for girls” is? GAME OF THRONES.

”I took in the silver embroidery on Zoya’s cuffs, the glossy perfection of her black hair, the big blue eyes fringed by impossibly dark lashes. She was almost as beautiful as Genya.”

Gorgeous!

I can not get over the character of the Darkling. And not even the fact I thought he was sexy as all hell, but he was actually a very complex, well written character. The balance of power hungry/ frustrated by his own desire was so heavy and amazing. Despi

Glad you liked the Darkling! (But I have to say, I think YA is loaded with complex characters— Melina Marchetta’s Froi, Elizabeth Wein’s Queenie, and Holly Black’s Lila just came right to mind, but there are plenty more.)

Fictional influences for the Darkling… Flagg, Raistlin, David Bowie’s Goblin King, Kiefer Sutherland as David in Lost Boys, maybe a little Lestat in there? He’s pretty much every dark prince, rogue wizard, or dangerous sort I was ever drawn to and wanted more of.
