So, Leigh Bardugo has apparently come out in favor of assaulting Trump supporters for their beliefs. This puts me in a bind: I want to read Crooked Kingdom, but I don’t want to support an author who promotes violence against those who disagree with her political views. Maybe I’ll just buy it used later.
I didn’t say a word about assaulting anyone. I have never advocated violence against anyone. I support people standing together and vocally opposing hatespeech and demagoguery. Protest seems like a very natural—and American—response to things you don’t agree with and I think it’s pretty obvious that’s the kind of fighting I’m referring to here.
I spent that night being called a “filthy jew” (among other things) by a Trump supporter on twitter. I notice you didn’t screenshot any of that. I didn’t block him. I didn’t report him. I “fought” him by speaking out and making his statements public, and eventually, by simply ignoring him. If you have beef with an author or anyone doing that, I’m not going to lose sleep over your disapproval.

so i got this six of crows embroidery thing...
so i got this six of crows embroidery thing from neverleapt’s etsy store earlier this week! i loved receiving it because not only is it super cute, but it also came with an extra nice handwritten note that warmed my cold dead heart.
it now hangs on the wall above my bed and i am confident in its power to protect me (protect me) from bad dreams. to help it along is a couple of woodcuts that i’ve had for years, but due to a severe 5-year case of procrastination, were stuck in storage until today. the prints are of a blowfish and a robot rabbit (a robbit) (not pictured).
