A project I did for school, recreate a book cover.
I picked Six of Crows because I have fallen deeply in love with the story and characters, and the concept. I chose to make Tarot Cards for each character, (from left to right) Nina The Enchantress, Inej The Wriath, Kaz The Mastermind, Jesper The Sharpshooter, Matthias The Hunter and Waylan The Chemist.
This is done on Adobe Illustrator.
Wowwwww

From Publisher’s Marketplace: “Tessa Gratton’s SLAUGHTER MOON, every seven years in the town of Three Graces, in exchange for prosperity, the best young man is sent into the Devil’s Forest to face the devil and almost always a terrible death, until this year when three teens — two young men and a young woman with their own complicated loyalties, loves, and motives — run into the forest and discover secrets that will turn the town and their hearts inside out, to Ruta Rimas at Margaret K. McElderry Books, in a pre-empt, for publication in Summer 2017, by Laura Rennert at Andrea Brown Literary Agency (World).”
“An dark fairy tale for the 21st century, the lush and unsettling SLAUGHTER MOON explores the complicated ways duty, sacrifice, and destiny intersect with desire, power, and sexual identity.” - My Agent
“A book about how toxic masculinity ruins boys and all girls should be witches. Plus devils, dark forests, and threesomes.” - Me
I’m pretty sure “lush and unsettling” is my aesthetic.
Actual pub date: Summer 2018. I haven’t even gotten my edit letter yet, so definitely won’t be ready in 9 months. ;)
