Music Monday remembers Ben E. King
Ben E. King passed away last week, but as with all great musicians, his music lives on. For this, I’m extremely grateful.
This song never gets old for me.
Wishing you a great week ahead,
~ eden
“When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we’ll see
No I won’t be afraid
Oh, I won’t be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
So darling, darling
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand, stand by me
Stand by me
If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall

Music Monday — Wild World
“Wild World” was on a cassette I purchased while in Bangkok, and I traveled with it throughout Asia, including Nepal.
My heart breaks reading the news about the devastating earthquake in Nepal this weekend. It truly is a magical place — rich in culture and with some of the warmest and peaceful people I’ve ever met. The destruction of many of the sacred places I visited is sad, but the loss of lives is sadder.
Major charity organizations are now accepting aid if you wish to make a donation. Pl...

A Snake in Paradise is still in the TOP 20 since its release April 7th.
Thank you to everyone who has read and reviewed the book. I SO appreciate it!
The raw lyrics of The Who’s song “You Better You Bet” inspired a passage in my book. There was definitely some strange word association when I wrote the story! I’ve always loved the lyrics, so I hope you enjoy this blast from the past.

On judging feminist p*rn and what feminism means to me

I’ve blogged about the FPA in the past, and what the spirit of the show means. Read my articlesif you’re interested to know my history with it.
This year marks the ten-year anniversary of the awards, and my last year as a judge for the show....

Music Monday and BERYL by Mark Knopfler
I love Mark Knopfler, and he has a new album out.
“Beryl” is the title track from Tracker. The song is about Beryl Bainbridge, a British novelist. She was frequently nominated for the Booker Prize, the most prestigious award given to a British writer of fiction, but did not receive one until after her death in 2010. Mark Knopfler considered she was notproperly recognized in her lifetime and sings,
“Beryl was on another level
When she got a Booker medal
She was dead in her grave
After all she...
