'All the Bright Places' in the NY Daily News

The New York Daily News says All the Bright Places draws you in and makes you cry with the compelling story of two teens, Violet and Finch.”

(And the writer, Arielle Milstein, may have thrown the book across the room when she finished it.)

Poor NYC was so gloomy and cold while I was there that I decided to brighten things up by leaving post-it’s for people to find. ☀️

My visit to Penguin Random House

On Tuesday, I visited one of my brightest places: Penguin Random House. Aka my Emerald City. I also was lucky enough to meet nearly every one of the lovely people who work there as we gathered for a champagne toast to All the Bright Places. There aren’t words to describe the experience or how lovely it was or how I grateful I am that the book and I have such a wonderful literary home.

(Guess what’s on display in the gorgeous book-filled lobby? All the Bright Places! Eeep!!!)

image

(I was given the warmest welcome by everyone at Random House (I could only fit half of them in this picture!). They all turned out for a champagne toast to All the Bright Places, at which point I became both teary and speechless. Here’s to all of them, every last person! They make me lovely!!)

(My editor, Allison Wortche, is not only one of the most brilliant and savvy editors I’ve ever known, she is one of the loveliest people. All the Bright Places is so much better for having known her (and so am I!).)

image

(These are the two extraordinary women who gave All the Bright Places a home, who believed in the story and Violet and Finch and me from the very beginning. My editor, Allison Wortche, and my agent, Kerry Sparks, are two of my favorite people and two of my brightest places.)

(These women! There aren’t words. I couldn’t do what I do without them. Thank you, Allison Wortche (my lovely editor) and Kerry Sparks (my lovely agent) for making it all so lovely.)
