Elle Fanning on 'All the Bright Places'

I am sooooooo crazily, stupidly excited that Elle Fanning is playing Violet in the movie version of All the Bright Places.

On Sunday, we did a literary salon for the amazing 826LA, and when Elle was asked about how she felt after first reading the book, she replied: “It really affected me. I got so absorbed in the story. I go to a normal high school and am a junior. I think that often it’s hard for writers, of even movies, to get the high school experience right, and when I read All the Bright Places, I was like, ‘This is what it feels like.’ There’s nothing cliché about it.”

826LA hosts the 'All the Bright Places' film team!

I had the loveliest time yesterday at the Brentwood Country Mart thanks to the wonderful 826LA.

Producer Paula Mazur and actress Elle Fanning and I discussed the All the Bright Places movie, which Paula is co-producing and Elle is starring in (she’s Violet!). 

There aren’t words to describe what it feels like to hear the person you envisioned as one of your characters talking about playing the role, especially when she’s as lovely and bright as Elle. 

And there aren’t words for what it feels like to be working with a producer and director who truly get and appreciate the work. I’m counting lucky stars every single day.
