I read a story written by my best friend and me in 10th grade–about a murderous librarian.

All the Bright cakes!
Everyone knows I love my publisher– as in LOVE. As in I am a total Random House fangirl. On the last night of the Bologna Book Fair, they threw a cocktail party for All the Bright Places and me and I was able to meet most of my 34 foreign publishers. It was AMAZING, and of course I cried.
Afterward, I sat down for a private dinner with the Random House team and there was cake. Publishers Weekly included a picture of the cake and me in last week’s issue. And of course I cried again!

It was a weekend I’d been dreading– my mom’s birthday (Saturday), the first since she’s been gone. Firsts are horrible after you lose someone. But thanks to my family, friends, and all the lovely readers and authors and organizers at #YALLWEST I made it through.
