I’m so excited for Halloween! My little LA friend family and I are going to be the cast of Spy. (And there will be photos!) After Bridesmaids came out, a lot of people got me confused with Rose Byrne, so I’ll be her Rayna Boyanov. I just need to start building my hair. (Are you dressing up? If so, what’s your costume?)

I spent the loveliest day with the students at Milken Community...

I spent the loveliest day with the students at Milken Community School here in Los Angeles. We talked All the Bright Places, Elle Fanning, Finch, writing, and Germ, and for the second hour, Germ’s amazing Lit Editor/Managing Editor Briana Bailey (aka one of the three Briana’s in the book!) and I led a writing workshop with creative writing students. They were all LOVELY! (And look at the beautiful drawing of Elle as Violet by @maddie_evette_art

OMG!!!!! Thank you with all my heart to SCIBA, Southern California’s Independent Booksellers, for giving All the Bright Places their Young Adult Book Award for 2015. ❤️ As I said in my acceptance speech, indie booksellers are a lifeline for readers and writers, and I couldn’t do what I do without them. They are my heroes, which is why this award means so much.
