It really impacts people - so I thought it would be cool to put some of those facts and perspectives in a kids book that adults could also learn from. The first book was about moms - this new book is about dads - and of course, educators, and how they teach us about unconditional love in really important ways.(less)

“One day their teacher said they were going to put on a class play of Cinderella. Charlie really, really, really wanted to play the role of Cinderella. They asked their teacher if they could. Their teacher said “No, you cannot be
Cinderella because you are a boy!” Charlie asked “Why can’t a boy be Cinderella?” And their teacher said “Now, don’t be cheeky Charlie!”

“Charlie is a cheerful and friendly kid with big
round cheeks, long eyelashes, and a beaming

“One day, Charlie went to the local butterfly exhibit and was amazed by all the wonderful varieties of butterflies. They spotted a butterfly that had two different wings and Charlie asked the tour guide “why?”. The guide explained that butterflies express their
gender through wing colour, shape, and pattern. This particular butterfly was very special; it was a Blue Morpho butterfly that had two genders: boy and girl.”
