Summoned captivated me from the first chapter with gritty characters and witty originality. I fell in lust with the author's protagonist and totally wished I were his lover, Syd, by chapter two.
Imagine being at the beckon call of a monster, someone whose wish is your command, one you don't even wish dead because the next heir is a more horrifying monster. She wishes more from you than daddy did. And it's way too personal. As Dimitri would say, "...that slow death I had hoped to avoid."
The plot took several turns along the way, and each one totally blew me away, and that doesn't happen often. Summoned is a book you can't stop thinking about getting back to.
Rainy Kaye pulled this age old myth into the 21st century with a storyline that intrigued, entertained, and surprised me with its uniqueness. I am very much looking forward to the next two books in the series.

Rainy Kaye is an aspiring overlord. In the mean time, she blogs at RainyoftheDark and writes paranormal novels from her lair somewhere in Phoenix, Arizona.
She is represented by Rossano Trentin of TZLA. Someone told her she's a USA Today Bestselling author. She thought there would be cake

I push myself into your body, absorb everything that is you, and wear you like a glove~~Then there are two of us~~

Live fast, play hard, move on! That was my mantra......until I dressed myself in CeCe

Gaire turns out to be the ultimate

My second host, and by far my favorite, is Jane.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I love laughing with my daughters, class B scary movies, fine cuisine and hamburgers from Wendy's. I'm addicted to electronics, dark chocolate, vintage eyeglass frames, warm socks, have been known to drive miles for a really good cup of cappuccino. I'm a wannabe gamer--Zelda is my fave, but I'll play Mario with my grandson for hours. I am an Amazon girl all the way, baby. I LOVE my Kindle!--support Indie authors.
My favorite all-time television series are Twin Peaks and Dark Shadows. Best movies ever, 1943 A Christmas Carol and Soylent Green. Favorite authors, Stephen King and Ann Rice.

There isn't just one thing I'm passionate about. I'm married to a wonderful man, have two adult daughters, three grandsons, and three dogs. I live on fifty acres and hunt and fish. I will get up in the middle of the night to listen to the coyote sing, sit under a tin roof in the middle of a rain storm, stare at barren trees and revel in the white show surrounding them. I sew, do stained glass, paint watercolors, make jewelry, but most of all, I write. I write because I have to, and because it amuses me to live vicariously through my characters.

Purgatory, and Gaire

I can hear his heartbeat; I feel the heat of his gaze, the strength behind his touch. Crap! My head is spinning—my head, not the human's I'm wearing. I never do this. I amuse myself and let them do the dreaming, the what-if's, and get off on that. I don't contemplate commitment, relationships, love! I just get my high on. I trade them their lives for a quick fix.Damn it, sex with this guy is not going to be a quick fix. I want...I realize I'm grabbing for my clothes before they fall to the floor, and he's stepping back, shaking his head. What the hell?

Coming this Valentine’s Day…Middle Eight, a romantic come...
Coming this Valentine’s Day…

Will their relationship hit the charts, or break hearts?
When the normal life Ray has always dreamed of unravels, she finds herself falling for a drummer, coming to terms with her unconventional childhood, and inevitably discovering that normal was never really in her best interest
Excerpt:The loud clanking of a spoon against a cereal bowl roused Ray from her second slumber. Her nausea was completely gone, but it felt like somebody shoved a few dozen hat pins into her skull. She opened one eye, and found herself staring at someone’s bare feet.Ray had a thing about feet. Feet were disgusting appendages. Especially hairy guy feet. The Birkenstock trend nearly made her mental. She never even let her husband touch her with his feet. But these feet were different. They weren’t hairy or calloused, for one thing. They were clean, for another, and the right one had a dragon tattooed along the side of it.“Did you clean my kitchen?”Ray sat up, squinting with the pain of bright lights and hat pins stirring in her cerebrum. She dug into her purse for the ridiculous aviator shades she’d bought at the last gas station and put them on. Looking up, she saw that the feet were attached to the drummer boy from the band in the bar. Wavy brown hair tucked behind his ear, cobra tattoo hissing on his chest, he wore nothing but a pair of faded jeans. Funny, had she seen this guy in the supermarket last week, she’d have crossed the aisle to avoid him. This morning she couldn’t take her bloodshot eyes off of him.“Sorry about that. I’m psychotic.” She rubbed her temples, the effort of speaking causing more hat pin sticks. “It’s just, I got up to take some Advil, and I stepped on some Cheerios and so I tried to sweep up the crumbs, but the crumbs were stuck because the floor was sticky…next thing you know I’m scrubbing your floor. It just snowballed. It snowballed and thank God I started to feel sick or I would have moved on to the bathroom, started changing sheets while you were still sleeping in them, who knows. I clean when I’m stressed. It’s my process.”He smiled and shook his head, shoveling another spoonful of Cheerios into his mouth.“I’m Ray, by the way,” she said, removing a bobby pin that was poking at her scalp near her temple. Holy crap, maybe those aren’t imaginary hat pins in my head.“Were your parents hoping for a boy or something?”“Not exactly.”“I’m Van,” he said, in between bites.Van. A flicker of excitement stirred in Ray’s stomach. Might she have stumbled upon somebody else whose parents were too high in the seventies to properly name their child?“Were you conceived in a van or something?”He did a combination laugh-choke. “Uh, I have no idea. My first name is Jeff, last name Vandermark. Van’s just a nickname. It’s easier since there always seems to be at least three other Jeffsin any given room.”Ray sighed. A fun nickname given by friends. She couldn’t relate to that. “You hungry?” he asked, pointing his spoon at his bowl of Cheerios.“A few hours ago I swore I’d never eat again. Think I’d better hold off.”He smiled slightly, and got up to pour himself another bowl. Ray sucked in a breath. When he passed by she got an eyeful of chiseled obliques, angled perfectly, pointing toward the Promised Land. What is wrong with me? Escaping lunatic husband, thirty bucks to my name, dead car, remember? Not the time to drool over drummer boys.“Thanks for letting me crash here last night. I’d get out of your hair, but I have no idea where my car is. I mean, I know it’s at a bar somewhere in Portland…”He laughed into his spoonful of cereal and nodded as he struggled with a swallow. “Right. Let me finish eating and we can go see about your car.”

Witchy

1 good witch who makes majorly stupid relationship choices
A warlock with control issues
A vintage Mustang
Preparation:
In a well-ventilated garage, toss the witch into a large cauldron with a *Bunsen burner set on high.
Add a warlock with control issues, and a vintage Mustang: red with black interior.
Stir vigorously.
Put-A-Lid-On-The-Cauldron! Bring the mixture to a rapid boil.
(Don't go all wonky when the warlock's Mustang bursts into flames)
Let the mixture stew for, oh, 3 seconds (or until you hear loud furry-animal noises), and open the lid.
Wallah! You have conjured up a black cat!
*!* Remove the cat (don't freak out if the cat starts cussing at you. The witch is inside the cat).
*!* Now back away from the cauldron.

FREE with Kindle Unlimited
* A Bunsen burner, named after Robert Bunsen, is a common piece of laboratory equipment that produces a single open gas flame, which is used for heating, sterilization, and combustion .
*!* Said cat may be extremely angry so handle with care (I suggest you shove it into a pillowcase and tie up the opening)... just sayin'.
*!* The warlock is about to jump out. When he sees his beautiful Mustang burning he's going to be really, really angry. He will be less apt to turn you into a toad if you hand him the cat in the pillowcase--not your problem if he takes the trapped witch 200 miles from home and dumps her.

FREE on Amazon December 3rd thru 5th The Purgatory seriesForget Me #1 in the novella series, PURGATORY which takes a doppelgänger through a number of female hosts in search of love and stability in a world where it doesn't exist.
The doppelgänger: a myth, a night fright, as singular as an individual's nightmare—a demon's blunder. It has no name, no sex, no flesh, and no identity unless it wears one of you, a human.
Gaire: the doppelgänger's wicked attraction, an anomaly, a wendigo-aswang half-breed; he's a rogue hiding from a race that wants him dead. He can't fight what he is—they won't let him forget what he's done.
Born into lives where hope leads to disappointment and wishes lead to disaster; could two very different creatures find love in each others arms? Maybe, but they will have to fight all that is Down Under before they find out.

December 6th thru 10th The Dark and Deadly series A demented mind? Or a mind with dementia?
Viola Fisher may be in her eighties, look a bit zany, and pop out with an amusing rendition of a favorite song in the middle of a sentence. But tread lightly, because if you happen to resemble the antagonist in her last murder mystery or television show, or sound like a suspect in a recent news article, you may end up her next victim.

In the small town of Reed City, Michigan there are secrets well-kept like any other small city in rural America. But in the community surrounding the town common a dark secret begins to bleed from basements and attics onto the streets. One murder after the other takes place, and soon it becomes clear someone is trying to break the wicked circle of miss doings that have carried on from generation to generation in the heart this city.

December 10th thru 12th
The Grateful Undead series
Susan is 58-years-old and bored with life. Middle age is a daily drudge of sagging body parts and aches and pains. Her fervent prayer that she could somehow recapture her youth comes true one night during a chance encounter with a child-like vampire. As soon as the other women in her family see the transformation they waste no time in sticking their necks out, hoping Susan will share this new-found fountain of youth.
Suddenly, this newly born group of hot-bodied vamps find themselves thrust into a world controlled by an ancient order of vampires. A world with rules, all of which the ladies pretty much break within hours of becoming immortals. And the little matter of the accidental epidemic of vamped out wildlife isn't exactly endearing them to the powers that be, either.
They're So Vein is a hilarious and irreverent new twist on the paranormal/vampire romance genre.

December 17th thru 19th The Dead Girls series Toni's grandmother is a psychopath.
Her sister is a ghost.
Her boyfriend is possessed.
And she has no idea who she is.
Summer vacation is ruined when Toni's twin sister, Sara, dies. Instead of walking into the light, Sara stomps directly away from it, totally pissed she didn't die in her skinny jeans. That's when Sara finds out their grandmother has a gift for talking to dead people, and two spritely spirits and a nasty soothsayer named Bartholomew are all working their angle with Toni's future caught in between.
Dear old Granny's determined not to be the last necromancer in the family, but with the death of her promiscuous granddaughter, her only option is Toni, who must remain a virgin until her eighteenth birthday without any ghostly interference from Sara.
Sara's not having any of it; especially since the guy Granny's conspiring with is the same guy that assisted in Sara's demise. Toni needs help! But protecting her sister is complicating all the ghostly fun on the other side!
Can death stop a twin? Maybe not, but Granny knows Dead Girls Never Shut Up.

More Books by Audra Middleton:

I'm very pleased to have the author of one of my favorite young adult series, DelSheree Gladden, here to answer some questions about WICKED GLORY in the Someone Wicked this Way Comes series. I've read all three novels and am looking forward for the release of book 4, which I hear, Mrs. Gladden is now working on. You can see all three of my reviews for this series on Goodreads and Amazon.

The inspiration for this particular book in the series really grew from Zander’s need for redemption and Van’s struggle to find out who she really is on a personal level. This book, even more than the others in the series, really focuses on the siblings’ personal conflicts and their attempts to correct past mistakes and find their inner strength.
What kept you going throughout the writing process?Ketchup’s fans, LOL! Not every reader loves Ketchup, but he tends to be a fan favorite. I got requests that he become a prize in a giveaway, readers asking to “borrow” him from Van for a while… I love that readers are enjoying him so much and asking for more. The reader support really kept me going even when I struggled to get any writing done on Wicked Glory.
Who is your most meaningful character and why?In Wicked Glory, I felt like Zander really developed from his initial self-centered, somewhat egotistical character into someone who truly begins to understand what it means to love someone so completely it almost hurts, and what true sacrifice not only requires, but demands.
Can we expect to hear more from these characters in the near future?Definitely! There will be at least one more book in the series (which will feature Ketchup on the cover this time, yeah!) and possibly a fifth. I’m not sure yet, and probably won’t be until I write “The End” on book four. I’ll keep everyone updated though!
How has this story touched your life?As I worked on this story, I spent a lot of time considering what it takes sometimes to find your own inner strength. It’s not an easy thing to do, and at times it takes and external force or situation to make a person realize how strong they really are. During this time my husband and I listened to several nonfiction audio books like the Louis Zamperini story, which is an amazing account of personal strength and endurance. So much of his story will shock you, but his determination to survive a Japanese prison camp and the torture they put him through was inspiring. Listening to his history really impacted me and helped me while writing this book and trying to understand the topics I was writing about.
What motivated you to start writing?I loved reading when I younger, and still do, not just for the escape it provides, but for the connections I get to make with characters. That connection and understanding was special to me as a child and I wanted to be able to create that for someone else.
