Why Learn About Blockchain?
So, what's blockchain? Ask most people and, you'll most likely be met with a vacant stare. Ask about cryptocurrency, on the other hand, and one will either offer you the latest crypto tip, or reply it's just another scam. Ask about NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and maybe they've heard about the latest GIF.
Yes, blockchain is the engine that drives cryptocurrency and NFTs, but it is so very much more.
Did you know there is a movement underway to reclaim privacy, establish peer-to-peer transactions as the norm, all while reducing the threat of hackers? It’s called blockchain and I have written a book, “Let’s Meet Blockchain Technology Changing for Working, Creating, and Playing” (Business Expert Press) that explains it to non-techies in language so simple, a simple introduction that you could easily explain to your mother.
Why is this important?
Blockchain technology is being used around the world in all segments of society both public and private. Aside from P2P transactions, it is being used in the healthcare industry to transfer and store personal information such as health records, as well as research.
It’s being used by governments to store land records, and for voting.
It’s being used by industries to monitor and protect supply chains.
Software is being developed to provide users with the ability to store and control one’s personal identity. Law offices are using blockchain technology to both store information and use smart contracts, a key component in blockchain technology, to help create contracts.
It’s being used to buy and sell property, obtain mortgages, buy and sell securities, arrange travel, buy and sell art, music, games, videos, publish books, and improve the profitability of newspapers and magazines. And it’s being used by law firms both internally to store information and as a tool to help them draw up contracts for clients. Start-ups are creating banks based on blockchain.
Social media platforms, messaging services, storage clouds, browsers and VPN services have been and are being built around blockchain technology.
In short, it is the infrastrucutre necessary to operate Web3, the third generation of the World Wide Web, which represents the shift to decentralization.
This is the future and it's happening now.
So, Let's Meet Blockchain!
