Posting on 49th Shelf

I finally figured out how to post on the map of the 49th Shelf. It is cool to be able to list your book with a local setting in Canada. Check out their site: http://49thshelf.com/map

Waiting

Sent off my fifth YA novel for Reluctant Readers and now playing the patience game while I wait to hear back. Hope the news is good! I am preparing my third and fourth novels for a new publisher of YA fiction for reluctant readers in the UK and hope the news is equally good from them - they've asked to see the synopsis and three chapters for each. Fingers are crossed that this time next year I'll be promoting three new books. I can dream!

In the meantime, thanks to all who purchased 'Benched' and 'Living Rough'. I just heard back that they have reached 5,000 and 3,000 copies sold!

Author Visits and New EVENT

Just had two great author visits to LLED classes at UBC for Teacher-Candidates. The audiences were wonderful and asked great questions on the art of writing and on the targeted audience of reluctant readers. Shared a new web page from Orca with them, as well: http://orcabook.com/reluctantreaders/...

Almost there!

As the New Year approaches, I am happy to report I made my resolution in record time this year. I not only wrote one more YA novel, but two, and I am nearly 10,000 words into my third. 'The Contest' is still looking for a 'home' and 'Gingerbread Man' is with the editor at Lorimer for the SidesStreets series (fingers crossed for good news) and once this one is finished, I'll polish and send it off, too! Are you thinking about the resolutions you'll make this year? Do they include writing and publishing?
