"Operation: Reuse It!" teaches children about the value of reusing items by showing how they can be put to the same use, a different function or a creative project. "We Can Reduce: Precycle It!" teaches children how to reduce waste in their homes and communities. The Garbology Kids® waste management books have been mentioned in many publications such as Time for Kids, Recycling Today, Green Teacher Magazine, Green Living Magazine, and Mother Nature Network.

Persad received her degree in sociology from New York University. She also holds an MBA from the University of Central Florida and a Graduate Diploma in Books, Magazine, and Electronic Publishing. She is the founder of Firewater Media Group and Green Solutions Magazine (2007-2012 online magazine tackling environmental issues through environmental solutions). She lives in Orlando, Florida.
