MERCY FIRST AND LAST
On this day in 1803, Robert Emmet went to his death for the crime of treason. He could have saved himself and fled to America after his rebellion failed, but he would not go without Sarah Curran.
I am so excited to tell Sarah's story, free of the romantic spin that was applied over the years. She was a real woman, facing formidable odds, but she persevered. Her strength was inspiring, and I hope readers find the same spirit that I discovered while researching the novel.
The book is now available, and I hope you enjoy it.

Awaiting the birth of the next novel
I am so excited to announce the upcoming publication of my next novel. The story of Sarah Curran and Robert Emmet is the stuff of legend in Ireland, but so little is recalled about Sarah and I was fascinated by her history.
My next book will dive into the relationship between Sarah and Robert, and how it shaped a rebellion that ultimately failed. If not for Sarah, Robert Emmet might have saved himself, but societal pressures and restrictions prevented the couple from happiness.
They have come down through history as the embodiment of tragic love, but for Sarah, the reality was far less romantic and much more trying. She was disowned by her father, and sent packing, to make her own way in a world with no place for unattached females.
It's a remarkable tale and I hope I have done it justice. There will of course be giveaways to come. Watch this space, as they say.
