Arrius Piso & His Family

ARRIUS PISO AND HIS FAMILY: An example of deduction.
(04/12/01, by Roman Piso)

To find out about Arrius Piso and his immediate family (his wives and children), one must look to “The Vita” of Flavius Josephus. He also ‘salts’ information about his children throughout the New Testament.

In the ‘Vita’, we learn the following;

Arrius Piso was first married to a virgin of Jotapata, and that he divorced her. No children are mentioned from this marriage. His second wife* is a bit of an enigma, but I do think that her identity may someday be revealed to us by deduction. She is a wife (at Alexandria, Egypt), who was with Titus at the siege of Jerusalem. Arrius Piso had divorced her as well, but he had three children with her before doing so. He says that two of those children are ‘dead’ (at the time of his writing the Vita). We think presently that one of those ‘dead’ sons was really a daughter (Claudia Phoebe),** and the other was the son named ‘Alexander’. The remaining son from that marriage who was still alive was Julius Calpurnius Piso.

His third wife had lived at Crete, but she was a Jewess by birth. Because of what he says about his third wife, she appears to be Boionia Procilla/Procla. He never says that he divorced his last wife, and he says that she bore him two children. Those children are known to us as (Fabius) Justus Calpurnius Piso, and Proculus Calpurnius Piso.

Now, in the Vita, he also gives the year of birth for his three living sons. He does so by saying that they were born during certain years of the reign of emperor Vespasian. So, we find out by deduction that Julius Piso was born in 74 C.E. And that Justus Piso was born in 77 C.E. Proculus was born in 79 C.E. This is information that tells us much more than just the birth dates of these sons, it also tells us Arrius Piso was still with his second wife up until at least 74 C.E. and that he married his third and final wife sometime before 77 C.E. This, is what logic, reason and deduction are all about.

To summarize…

The birth dates of these sons are given by Arrius Piso as Josephus in the beginning of his ‘Vita’. He says; “I have three (living) sons…” And Justus and Proculus Piso’s mother was a Jewess who had lived at Crete. Arrius Piso had divorced his first and second wives. His sons Alexander*** and Julius were of the same mother - his second wife.

Now, Arrius Piso counts his invented character Jesus as a ‘son’ as well. But he does so in the sense or context of that ‘son’ being an invention. So, that is why in Matt. 13:55, he says that Jesus has four brothers. But of real sons, he has only three which were living. Since the ‘core’ or prototype of Matthew was written around the year 75, we can deduce that either these sons of Arrius Piso were added to it after they were born or it was not truly finished until all his sons were born. Meaning that Matthew was not really finished until sometime AFTER 79 C.E (the year of birth of his last son, Proculus Piso).

* His second wife was of/at Alexandria, Egypt and was apparently of the line of the ‘Alexanders’. We might be right to speculate that her name may have been ‘Alexandria’ as the feminine form of one of her sons name - Alexander. I do think that we may be able to deduce just who she was at some point.

** Recently, Abelard Reuchlin has become convinced that Claudia Phoebe was NOT the daughter of Arrius Piso. But I think that she still could have been his real daughter and that researchers were just thrown a ‘curve’ by those ancient authors. Claudia Phoebe could still have been Arrius Piso’s daughter - IF she was the daughter of/by his second wife who he had divorced, and if she then remarried someone who adopted her - then passing her BACK into the house of her real father (Arrius) who then likewise
“adopted” her as well (even though she was really his own daughter anyway!).

*** Alexander, like his mother, is an enigmatic figure. Abelard Reuchlin says that he was placed in the New Testament as ‘Andrew’. And Andrew is found in Matt. 4:18, 10:2. Mark 1:16, 1:29, 3:18, 13:3. Luke 6:14. John 1:40, 1:44, 6:8, 12:22. Acts 1:13. He may also have been the person mentioned as a kinsman of Paul who is called ‘Andronicus’ in Romans 16:7. As Reuchlin says, Alexander appears as a disciple named Andrew - who is the/(a) brother of Simon Peter. Reuchlin says that he died about the year 95 C.E.
Ref. “The True Authorship of the New Testament,” page 12. People have tended to think that the ‘Junias’ mentioned in Romans 16:7 was a female. But when you know that Alexander and Julius Piso had the same mother, and you know that letters such as ‘l’ and ‘n’ were interchangeable and that information was given by the use of phonetics, then you can see that passage read; “Salute Andronicus and JULIUS, my kinsmen…” Putting Andrew/Alexander (as Andronicus) together with Julius, confirms what we had found in the Vita - that these two brothers belonged together as they both shared the same mother.

Heroes Who Fought Against The Pisos & Christianity

Jewish Heroes List (by Roman Piso)

These are Jewish leaders who fought a long war against the Sadducean hierarchy, the Herodians, and the Flavians and Pisos. They were fighting for freedom, against slavery, for basic human rights, and for a democratic government. They were teaching rational thought, reasoning, and practical ethics. They were forced to pretend to teach religion outwardly in order to survive. They knew they could only make the changes they desired IF and WHEN they attained the power/authority to do so. They lost their war and Christianity came to exist to prevent another war again for the same purpose by making believers content with their situation in life. These Jewish heroes were of the Pharisees, Essenes and Scribes. In the year 6 CE, the Essene sect became known as Scribes, and were pacifist helpers of the Pharisees; mostly helping by writing the Talmud. Thus, the name of "Scribes" for this sect.

1. Hillel the Pharisee.
2. Sadduc the Pharisee.
3. Judas of Galilee.
4. Theudas the Pharisee.
5. Jacob ben Judas.
6. Simon ben Judas.
7. Benjamin the Egyptian.
8. Eliezer ben Yair.
9. Rabbi Akiva.
10. Bar Cochba.
11. Rabbi Hanina ben Teradion.
12. Gamaliel I.
13. Gamaliel II.
14. Simon I (ben Hillel).
15. Simon II (ben Gamaliel).
16. Jeshia ben Gamaliel (son of Gamaliel I, aka Jesus ben Gamaliel).
17. Simon ben Natanel.
18. Judas ben Yair.
19. Menahem (ben Judas).
20. John the Essene.
21. Eliezer ben Hyrcanus.
22. Joshia ben Hananiah.
23. Yochanan ben Zachai.
24. Shammai.
25. Pollio the Pharisee.
26. Eleazar (of the Pharisees).
27. Eleazar ben Simon.

The Jewish leaders of the Pharisaic sect had been at war with the Hasmonean leadership for many years. The Pharisees were so popular with the common people and had gained both public support and wealth from contributions from the public because they were fighting on their behalf, that it finally forced the hand of the Hasmonean leadership, to the point, where the Pharisees were actually running things.

But once they had gained this authority and position of power, the enemies of the Pharisees called upon Rome's help to overthrow their power and influence. That is when Rome made Herod king of Judea and thus, in that sense, king of the Jews. Whereas before, the Hasmonean leadership were also the leadership of the Sadducean sect, the leadership of that sect then transferred to King Herod and his sons. To make this a more formal and binding transition, King Herod was then married to Mariamne I, daughter of Alexandra Regent of the Hasmoneans; his own cousin.

The Hasmoneans were aka the Maccabees. And King Herod was a descendant of Eleazer Auran of the Hasmoneans. The leaders of the Pharisees & Scribes (formerly Essenes) were perhaps among the world's first Secular Humanists. Notice that I said the "leaders" were. It appears to this researcher that their followers were being educated and taught to think, reason and to lean towards rational thought instead of religion & superstition.

The Piso Project

As one of the world's foremost experts in the area of the creation of Christianity, I have made many discoveries and have founded The New Classical Scholarship (NCS), and The Piso Project.

The Piso Project is an ongoing effort to find and provide evidence of the Roman authorship of the New Testament; particularly that of the Roman Piso family.

On FB (Facebook), there is a Piso Project Page, and a Piso Project Group. Here is the URL for the Piso Project Group. You will find much information there regarding our work and findings.

Group: The Roman Creation Of Christianity

Hello, this is to let you know that I will be posting important information in the new Group that I have created here in Goodreads called 'The Roman Creation Of Christianity'.

Please go there to see whether or not I have already answered your questions on this or related subjects there; because, that is where it is likely that most of the information that I will be posting will be.

What will be posted there? All kinds of information. From who various Popes where, genealogies showing the relationship and/or descent of various Roman Emperors, and ancient writers, Early Church Fathers, and much, much more! Including samples from the book 'Piso Christ'.

List of the First 10 Popes

The research which Abelard Reuchlin, I, and other members of The Piso Project have done, have taken us very far. We know many things. I had, at one time, all things noted in exacting detail. However, many of my notes were lost or destroyed. Thus, I am now trying to reconstruct as much of that as I can.

Our research confirmed that Arrius Piso and his family were the main creators and promoters of Christianity. Therefore, one may conclude that the early Church figures, such as Popes and Church Writers, were, in fact, the Piso's, their close relatives, and descendants.

I don't think that I am able to post an image file to this blog; if so, I don't know how to do that. So, if you check elsewhere here in Goodreads, you should find that image file with this list.

More Information: Joseph Atwill

What do I think of Joseph Atwill's work? I happen to know Joseph Atwill and have discussed the subject matter with him many times. He has also discussed it with Abelard Reuchlin.

As far as his work in relation to ours, he has told me that he likes my work over that of Reuchlin's. However, that may be because of the fact that I try to a) write clearer for a wider audience, and/or b) that I try to write on events chronologically.

Atwill's work leads people to "Titus" as the main creator of the NT gospels. The main difference is in WHICH "Titus" is being talked about. That is because Arrius Piso was also using the name Titus, as he was nephew of emperor Vespasian via his brother T. Flavius Sabinus.

This is where understanding items particular to royals of the time is necessary. Ancient authors were exclusively royals. They gave the public the illusion of freedom of speech and made it appear that anyone could write for public consumption. That was not true.

Since only royals were allowed to write (with the approval of a committee of other royals), they needed a ready source of alias or pen names, and particularly, those which would automatically be associated with the authors using them, so that the authors could be easily identified by other royals.

This practice had been in effect for thousands of years before the time of the Flavians and Pisos of first century Rome. The way they were able to create these alias names and identities was to use names of their ancestors. Basically, these were inherited name/titles.

And that is how Arrius Piso could use the alias name of "Titus" and thus, confuse non-royals into thinking that it was Vespasian's son Titus, who was being referred to instead of him. But royals of the time knew it was Arrius Piso, and not the other Titus.

To get at the truth about this as Reuchlin and I have, one must have personal profile information for each of the principal people of the time, and that includes information on all of their relatives. Thus, one must construct their genealogical information from the information that they had scattered about that throughout their writings. A very difficult task, but not impossible.

Genealogy Of Roman Emperors

A part of my study of the subject of the Roman Piso family and their involvement in the creation of Christianity is in just who their ancestors, relatives and descendants were.

What I learned in my studies of the subject is that virtually all of the authors (either secular, biblical/church writers), popes and emperors were descendants of Arrius Calpurnius Piso.

Knowing this, changes the entire context of how we should now view all of those things as well as the histories involved.

This link will give you access to many of the genealogical charts that I worked out for many of the Roman Emperors.
