my god it's... tuesday
Somehow I managed to lose Monday this week...
Valentine's Day is in a week -- I was thinking of making a few lists -- what my guys are getting each other for V-day. The only question is, who should I be sure to include?
I've got a couple of new stories coming up.
There an m/m/f from Changling Press:

As a cat shifter and a vampire, Emerald and Armand fit together perfectly; their appetites and needs are well-matched. When they see the lonely looking man watching them from the apartment across the way, they can't help but show off for him, making love in as many delicious and kinky ways as they can to keep him intrigued.
Harry's been a little down and a lot lonely since Naomi left him. Maybe that's why he's been uncharacteristically watching the couple in the apartment across the way as they make love in their window. They're fascinating to him, and obviously aware that he's watching. Will he pick up the phone when the beautiful woman across the way writes her number on the glass?
You can buy it here on Thursday.
An m/m short story from Torquere Press:

Following My Heart
Nine months ago when Jimmy asked Scotty to become his sub, Scotty couldn't handle it and he left.
Shaved bare -- completely. Inked. Pierced. Plugged. A full time boy, a full time sub. His boy. The words have haunted Scotty every since. Now he's back and he hopes it isn't too late for him to take Jimmy up on his offer.
It'll be out on February 17.

Okay, so this one isn't all that wayback, but in keeping with the current weather, I thought it was a good fit.
I love extreme sports, especially the snowboarding. Those guys are just crazy and cool and totally insane in a great way. So I really wanted to do a story featuring a snowboarder. Ecco and Henry were the result.

Game designer Henry Delloit loves his life, his mountain community, his isolated dream home and the snow. He also loves that the X-treme Games blow into the area for a month every year, bringing with them hundreds of athletes.
Ecco Rasmussen loves boarding; he needs it in fact. He knows he'll never make it to the big times but as long as he can get on his board and go he doesn't care. The only fly in the ointment is his manager Blake Dobbs. The man is possessive and mean and believes he owns Ecco. Given the way he's isolated Ecco and holds all the money, not to mention the way he treats the boarder, Ecco figures maybe he does.
When Henry and Ecco meet at the Branchberry Games, it's lust at first sight. An injury on Ecco's qualifying run gives them the opportunity to spend some quality time alone together at Henry's home, away from the crowds and out from under Blake's thumb.
Will lust have the opportunity to turn into love? More importantly, what will Blake do when he finds out?

my god its monday
And somehow, it's Monday again. Amazing how that works, isn't it?
Actually, I can't believe it's already February tomorrow. It's going to be 2012 in no time. And I say that now as a joke, but before you know it, I'll be going, wait... how did we get here already?
It's another cold one today. The kind where you wrap yourself up in extra layers. The kind where you snuggle in under the covers with that special someone and wait for things to come up. And if you're Rig, you help make them come up. The colder it is, the more likely Rig is to dive deep under the covers and search out the hottest thing around, which always belongs to Rock and Dick. ;)
And now I have a parade of men in my head, all pointing to themselves going "I'm the hottest thing around, just ask... Tanny/Jim/Giles/Frank/Marshall/Bones/Greg/etc."
It's a pretty picture.

Flash Fiction Friday
Peep was pretty small. He was short and he was skinny -- even soaking wet a good wind could take him away, that's what Master Hawk always said. He said it with a smile, though, and not a nasty one, but a kind one. Peep liked Master Hawk. Not as much as he like his Mouse, of course, but Master Hawk was nice to him and didn't try to make him feel bad for being small.
Peep didn't care that he was small, in fact, he thought being small worked out really well. He fit perfectly in Mouse's arms and in Mouse's life just the size he was.
In fact, being small meant he could curl up in the corner of Mouse's leather shop and nobody noticed him. He was like one of those flies on the wall. He could sit there and watch Mouse work, be all quiet and undistracting.
And boy did he love to watch Mouse work. He loved those big hands as they worked the leather, as they cut and sewed and beat in the patterns. Oh…
Peep shivered.
Just because he was small didn't mean that he was automatically quiet and undistracting. In fact, it was a lot of work to be like that. He was much better at being noisy and distracting. Especially if Mouse was working, but not on a deadline.
Mouse's hands were very, very clever at making a noisy and distracting boy quiet and undistracting again.

Push out!
There won't be any Wayback Wednesday this week because I have a new book out today!
Push is my latest Hammer Club novel. This one features Frank, the private eye first introduced in Montana and Billy's story. I do love it when a bit character in one novel pokes and says, hey, I'm next. In fact, I have a short story coming out in March featuring a character who appears very briefly in Push.
So Push takes place immediately following Owned, some years before Bent.

Gordon's a retired Drill Sergeant who's enjoying his life. He has his garden, his friends and access to the subs at the Hammer Club whenever he wants to indulge his Toppy side. When Billy and Marcus insist on introducing him to Frank, he has to admit, he's intrigued.
Frank is a cop turned private investigator who often helps out the men of the Hammer Club. He thinks they're all just a little bit off, but they're good guys for the most part, and he's happy to take their business. When he's introduced to Gordon at a party at the Hammer to welcome Oliver home after the events in Owned, his world is turned on its head.
Very much a loner, and self-contained, Frank must deal with having a partner who cares about him as more than just a good fuck. Frank also doesn't believe he's like all those little subs at the club, so he's not sure that a man like Gordon, a 'Top', is going to want him for more than the occasional make-out session. Can Gordon convince him he's wrong?
Push is the latest in the popular Hammer Club series that includes Found, Snared, Owned, Baked, and Bent.

"Nice place, man."
"Thanks. It's not fancy, but then I'm not a fancy kind of guy."
"I can appreciate that." Frank leaned against the doorframe, watching him.
He put the brandy back behind the bar and went over to Frank, handing one of the glasses to the man. "Come sit." He nodded toward the sofa and comfortably filled one side of it.
Frank sat on the far side, one leg crossed over the other.
"You could sit a little closer, I won't bite. Not on the first date, anyway." He winked.
"Ha ha." Frank chuckled, relaxed. "I tell you what, I laughed so much at the movie that I got a stitch in my side."
"It was a good one, wasn't it? You've got a great laugh, by the way. Robust."
"Thanks." The compliment made Frank blush.
Just look at that. Gordon thought he might have a new hobby.
He'd learned a few things about this fascinating man. Frank had a family he was close to even though they lived in Las Vegas, an ageing mother, two sisters, nieces and nephews. He'd learned that Frank was incredibly tech-savvy, was a huge fan of mint, and wore contacts. The man fascinated him.
He took a sip of his brandy, enjoying the way it warmed his throat on the way down. Frank was kind of like that brandy -- the way being with the man warmed him.
"You like fishing?" he asked suddenly. He'd done some deep-sea fishing last year and it had been a blast. It would have been better with someone he knew to go out with. They had a love of the ocean in common, maybe they had this as well.
Frank nodded. "I used to go out with a bunch of guys a few times a year. It was fucking fun."
"Excellent." He nodded happily. "We'll have to go. I've only been with those tours, and while everyone was friendly enough, it's not the same as having your buddies with you, you know?"
"Yeah. I haven't been since I retired. I can make a few phone calls, though."
"Sounds good." Plans for later. Frank wasn't letting the fact he'd made his physical interest known deter him. Good.
Frank sipped the brandy, nodded. "What all do you do with your spare time?"
"I actually garden a fair bit. I have a large yard out back. And I play baseball with a neighborhood team."
Frank nodded, eyes taking everything in. "You're a reader, too, and you like cars."
"Not much gets past you, does it?" While he figured some of it was occupational hazard, he liked the idea of Frank checking him out.
"No. Very little."
"It's intense, being the subject of that scrutiny."
"I can apologize, if you'd like, but it won't change anything."
"Please don't -- it wasn't a complaint." He met Frank's gaze head on. "I like being in your sights."
There was that blush again. "Most people don't."
"Like you, I'm not most people."
"I can believe that."
The air seemed to get thick between them, heavy.
"The usual rules don't necessarily apply to me." God, he was going to lean in and take a kiss in a second.
"You don't think so?"
"I don't." He put his glass down, and then reached over and took Frank's out of his hand, put it down as well.
"I don't know if this is a wise idea."
"It's a fine idea." He sat next to Frank and leaned in slowly.
"You're very sure of yourself. What if I don't kiss?" Frank smelled good -- masculine, powerful. Sexual.
"Then you'd have to arrest yourself, because that would be a crime."
Frank laughed. "That was awful."
He grinned and nodded. "Yeah, not my best line. Let me make it up to you." He leaned forward and pressed his lips to Frank's.
There was a jolt of pure electricity between them, the sensation unlike any he'd had before. His mouth opened automatically, his tongue pressing against Frank's lips. He wanted to feel that again. One of Frank's hands landed on his waist, solid and sure, even as Frank's lips opened.

Flash Fiction Friday
Rig rolled his shoulders, looked at the pile of sweatpants, running shoes, towel, gym bag, key.
This was just…
Surely he could get as much exercise out of working on the yard, maybe doing some woodworking, right?
He didn't need to get in his car, drive up to the boys' gym, get undressed, redressed, sweaty. Then shower in the dressing room – which, okay, he didn't have to do. Rock and Dick had a private shower that he could use and there was even a sauna for him to bake his bones – and get re-redressed and then come home and he'd still have to weed eat.
Where exactly was the fun in that?
He kicked the gym bag out of the way and headed over to grab his gimme cap. The boys were working anyway, for fuck's sake.
His cell rang before he finished pouring himself a fresh cup of coffee, Rock's number coming up. "Rig, you on the way?"
Shit. "Huh?"
"You said you were coming to work out. Remember?"
"I do."
He opened his mouth to make his excuses, when Rock went on. "Good deal. I bought this new type of machine and I want you to try it out while I watch. Then we'll go soak upstairs, after."
Damn it. "Yeah?"
"Yep. I've been thinking about it all morning. Had to give myself a stern talking to. Machine's in a private room, too."
Rig chuckled. "Perv."
"You, sweating, lifting while I watch?" Rock rumbled. "Shit, yeah. Get your ass up here. I want steaks for supper. Kid's buying."
"How could I resist that?"
"Bring me up my blue shirt, when you come."
That made Rig grin. Right. His Blue was into it, if the good shirt was coming out of the closet. "You got it. I'll be there in fifteen."
"I'll be waiting, Rabbit."
So, maybe the weed eating could wait a few more days.
In the name of good relations.
